This is a cute little shop in Leavenworth but definitely pricey. They have a large variety of candy, lots of taffy flavors especially. There is the usual caramel corn, cotton candy, and prepackaged candy you could get about anywhere but these ones come with an extra ticket price for being in Leavenworth. There's also apparently a whole section of imported sweets that I must have missed but those would have been fun to look through!
We were in the mood for ice cream, 3.00 for a child scoop in a bowl and not a lot of flavors to choose from but I did enjoy mine as did the husband. The chocolate truffles we selected were also quite good and went great with the wine we'd bought in town earlier.
Overall it's an adorable shop in an expensive destination town so I think the prices are to be expected. There's certainly something for everyone in the family from chocolate to ice cream to taffy lover.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Elisabeth! We have a whole wall of imported/hard to find candy from Europe. If there is something you were looking for specifically, let us know! We are always looking for new and exciting things to carry. Thank for coming in! Cheers!

Fun little place for kids to grab some candy and ice cream. My son has a dairy allergy and they had sorbet that was dairy free. Fun little shop for kids and definitely worth checking out if you're down town.

The Best Fresh Popcorn! We went back for more sweet treats on day 2! Lots to choose from..........the service could be better......not friendly but not mean either, if they had super friendly service this place would be amazing! We enjoyed popcorn all the way to the airport! I will definitely return for more,

Fun options for "mixed" soda and Red Bull drinks! I had the "Dirty Face" which was tasty.

This candy store will make you feel like...well, a kid in a candy store! The throwback decor invokes a early 20th century pharmacy, when that word meant more than just medicine, and you could get sodas and shakes from the counter. Think Willy Wonka, and you're on the right track.
And speaking of throwbacks, the best part of Das Sweet Shoppe, besides the ice cream bar at the back, and the ridiculous selection of taffy and Pez dispensers, is the vast assortment of candies from yesteryear. Here you will find all the treats from your childhood that you thought no longer existed. You know, the candy your grandparents ate, that you weren't that into as a child, but have grown fiercely nostalgic about. Yeah. Those candies. Whatever candy you're thinking of, it's probably here.
Das Sweet Shoppe, like several other places in Leavenworth, is the kind of store that evokes joy merely by walking through doors. It's a time capsule from our childhood, and I look forward to every return visit.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Expect a huge line on a sunny day in summer. Flavours are okayish, we had the pistachio and huckleberry cheesecake, very reasonably priced!

Hi Falak, thanks for bearing with us during our busiest ice cream season!
Cheers! - Karyn S.Great Falls, MT1423392463Oct 18, 2021
I was on the hunt for ice cream and stumbled into this place. The ice cream brand is Umpqua, which is found in many places, nothing special, and was very expensive here. I got a chocolate and nut waffle cone ($5.75) with two scoops. The scoops are SMALL, and paid $7.
Not impressed, expensive (like everything here) and would check out other places next time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Total disappointment with their coconut cream ice cream. It's just vanilla with coconut flakes. False advertising.

Hi Jill! We offer unlimited samples for anyone that asks. We also order our coconut cream ice cream through Umpqua, as we don’t have the capacity to make our own ice cream. Feel free to stay awhile next time and try some different flavors before ordering to get exactly what you want!
Cheers,

Hi Tarie! Sorry your chocolate wasn’t great. We do not make our chocolate in house. It is made by Spokandy, Elevated Candy, and Missionary Chocolates. Next time come back in and let us know what wasn’t great so we can make it right. Glad your taffy was delicious! Cheers!

I have a soft spot for this shoppe - I use to come here as a kid. But a lot has changed since then, mostly that the younger ppl that work there just don't provide good customer service. We visited yesterday and they were just impatient and rude. We bought some chocolates and ice cream, 45 mins before closing time, so I don't know what the rudeness was about.
Chocolates were fine, ice cream is very basic quality and not nearly as good as Whistlepunk across the street.
Nostalgia kept bringing me back but sadly I think I'm done. Poor service kills the best of places but poor service and mediocre product is a death sentence.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Jie, I’m so sorry you didn’t have a good visit to the shop! We proudly serve Umqua & Cascade Glacier ice cream from Oregon, but I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your scoop yesterday. Our customer service is usually top notch, but we have had lots of turnover and new (& young) employees join us over the past few months/year due to covid. I will definitely bring it up to my team and see what’s going wrong. We apologize and hope you give us another try next time you are in town!
