Okay, I'm gonna ask for your opinion on something:

What could possibly be better than listening to polka music, while eating a nice sorbet, in the rain, slightly intoxicated form the numerous wine tastings, all while swaying from side-to-side with someone you care about and pretending you have the slightest clue how to dance to polka?

That's right... not a damn thing.

Sorry, but standing in what looked like an empty shop with no employees working. Waiting to pay for a sweet for I would say at least 12 minutes listening to the girls in the back gab away. Was not my idea of a good shopping experience.
Once one of the girls finally looked to see if there was any one in the shop, she took her sweet ass time getting to the register way up front. While still yelling to the girls in the back. She said is that it? I said yes, handing my card to her. Then she said there is a $10 limit for card purchases. So I left the item and the store without making the purchase at all.

It's a candy shop... sorry... it's a candy shoppe.  Why the "pe" at the end of "shop".  Does that make it better?  Does that make it more Leavenworth-y?  I don't understand, but that's nothing new.

Taffy, taffy, taffy...a wall full of taffy....

I still haven't eaten my way through the entire bag of taffy I purchased, but the ones I've had were so yummy!  Much less sweeter than I had expected for a taffy, but pleasantly so.  I guess that just means I can eat more in one sitting.  They had unique flavors like key lime pie and cookie dough.

Otherwise, they have a little ice cream "parlor" at the back end of the store, and a case of gourmet chocolates lining the other half of the wall, while the other side of the store is lined with your run-of-the-mill grocery store candies.  It's easy to get carried away until you realize that you can probably get some of this stuff at much cheaper prices elsewhere.

But hey, you're in Leavenworth, so splurge a little!

The place is a tourist trap, the workers don't know what it is they serve, the candy was not that tasty, and it was way expensive.

I asked the girl who worked there, "what's the chocolate covered honeycomb?" And she said, "it's literally honeycomb dipped in chocolate."

My bf bought me a small piece of said chocolate covered honeycomb for us to share. It was $2.33 for a piece the size of a Halloween-sized, individually wrapped candy, and it definitely was NOT honeycomb! It was like a chalky, dry butterfinger! Some nasty yellow colored hardened powder covered in milk chocolate. I'm sorry, but that is NOT honeycomb.

Third: The Finest Ingredients The third element in making the finest ice creams comes form the ingredients used. Only the finest ingredients are put in our ice creams. We also take every opportunity to by local products from Oregon and Northwest growers and supplies. For example, while the national trend for chocolate and strawberry ice creams are on the decline, our chocolate and strawberry ice creams continue to increase, year after year. Chocolate covered gummi bears!  I love these.  It's a nice candy shop that will lure you in with the smell of popcorn and the hordes of people enjoying ice cream.

They have a nice selection of yummy chocolate in their case.  Especially things like chocolate covered cookies.  They have a great wall of fun gummis and lollipops.

And in the back they have a nice case filled with ice cream.  Even great when its cold out!  A definite stop before leaving town for some sugar highs.

Maybe it was because it was late in the season, but this place just kind of seemed empty and sad. However, the big excitement factor is Mozartkugeln (http://en.wikipedia.or...). It is not easy to come by in the States and a real favorite of mine. However, it is only sold in individual pieces for almost a dollar a piece! Pricey!

Fun little sweet shop in the heart of Leavenworth...  Ice Cream in the far back and had a good selection of flavors.  I enjoyed my Pistacio Almond.  Pretty standard Ice Cream...  good and satisfied my sweet tooth after having a bratwurst at Munchen House next door.

Immediately as I walked in, the smell of freshly produced caramel corn told me that this was a sweet shop.
The candy store known as Das Sweet Shop (or as I call it Dasn Sweetn Shoppn) is a store in Leavenworth. All along the walls are different types of candy from Almond Joys to Zots. I was tempted to just immerse myself in all the beautiful candy and buy whatever I can with my meagre twenty dollars. Because of the incredible breakfast I had that morning, the only thing I could stomach was the chocolate ice cream they had in the back. The staff there are all young and living. They were all very helpful when I needed to get my ice cream.
I give this 5 stars. And I give the ice cream 4 stars.
