The food was pretty good. My complaint is the service. We were handed a blizzard and the lady was rude and told us it was one kind, but it was actually another. It wouldn't have been that bad, except for the fact that one of us is allergic to peanuts. Now she is having an allergic reaction.

Very rude drive thru! They take forever they need to figure something out, I'm tired of being dissatisfied and disappointed every time !

Mar 4, 2022Previous reviewYour lobby is always closed when I want to go in, why do you guys open and then close it , it really makes you seem unprofessional. Please keep it open that's what a restaurant is about to go dine in. Do better Dairy Queen , i'm very disappointed.
Nov 23, 2021Previous reviewLately they have been very slow and they've been taking their sweet little time, but they do still have great food!

It's the only fast food drive through in the top corner of the state (Sedgwick, Phillips, Yuma, and Washington counties - that's 6,125 square miles in case you were wondering) so they have no incentive to be competitive in quality, price, or service. The food tastes old, the building and decor haven't been updated in decades, and the teenagers who work there are very sparsely managed, so you can imagine what grade of service comes with that.
The biggest problem (that anyone who lives out here can attest to) is that you could easily be held hostage in the drive through for 15, 30, even 45 minutes. First time it happened I thought it was a fluke, second I thought it was bad timing, by the third time I realized the gal at the window didn't seem phased at all and this was just the norm for them. Granted it was during the summer lunch rush hour - but come on, locations up in the urban areas would NEVER be able to get away with that.
Just because you're the only gig in town doesn't mean you should let your standards sink to deplorable levels.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Chris B.Yorktown, TX9517Sep 2, 2016
I asked them for jalapeños on my burger and they adamantly refused saying that it's against the rules and they were not friendly about it either! They seemed totally baffled by the idea of jalapeños on a hamburger, like it was somehow scandalous, they called the manager and everything. I'm just passing through this area so I guess it's a Texas thing. I'll just move on and see if there is anyone in the next town who actually wants to sell me a hamburger.

Stopped here on our way back from Kansas for a quick snack. Very slow for fast food. Quality of food was bad even for fast food. Hot dog was like rubber, had to toss it. Ice cream was good but it's hard to screw that up. Skip this Dairy Queen.

Small location that has the typical Dairy Queen fare. The only option in Yuma for a quick meal. In the summer time it's like an oasis. It has cool treats, and more importantly in Yuma, AC.
