I loved my experience at Cure. I just so happened to be in the neighborhood when I thought I would have my cough checked out. I was taken to the back almost immediately and seen by an assistant and then a physician not long afterwards. I was asked very thorough questions regarding my history and family history, which I appreciated they took the time to ask.
It didn't take long for the doctor to diagnose me and give me antibiotics that I didn't even know I needed. Shortly after, my cough went away and I couldn't be more thankful that I stepped into this amazing urgent care facility. I will definitely be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ellen S.Downtown Brooklyn, NY885Jan 31, 2017Updated review
I saw Dr Lanzone, who was professional, courteous and diagnosed me correctly (I knew I had a sinus infection). However, I waited in the patient room for 45 minutes. I poked my head out and saw three people in scrubs doing nothing. One rudely told me the doctor would see me next. He didn't, and saw another patient first (perhaps that person had a more urgent medical issue, just don't lie to me). Then I heard and smelled the people in scrubs open and dig into their fries right outside of my room (is that even sanitary?). It is Saturday, which is probably a busier day, but staffing is not rocket science. Have another doctor there, and eliminate two of the three do nothing techs.
Update: The doctor who owns the practice called me to follow up on my concerns. I greatly appreciate it this, and it is clear that he takes patient concerns extremely seriously and is working hard to provide a more consistent patient experience. I will definitely be back.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 28, 2017Previous reviewI saw Dr Lanzone, who was professional, courteous and diagnosed me correctly (I knew I had a sinus infection). I went to Cure Urgent Care for a severe ear infection. This was my first time visiting any urgent care facility and I have to say I was greatly shocked and extremely happy to witness excellent customer service and fast medical assistance. Samantha and Sabrina were professional and friendly. I had to call back to have my prescription sent to another pharmacy because my insurance wasn't accepted at the first pharmacy. I again called and received great service when my ear drops were not covered and they immediately sent over another medication that my insurance covered and never once did I hear or feel as if they were impatient even though they were close to closing for the evening. I commend the younger generation that realizes that professionalism and customer service should never be a dying trend...

Oh. My. God! These people are the MOST AMAZING individuals I have EVER interacted with. No joke. So efficient, so caring, so attentive, I LOVE THEM!! Like, I can't even get over it.
The first person I spoke to was named Jerome - he was the front desk person. He offered me a drink, welcomed me to the office, and made me feel so pampered! I thought, "Is this a spa or something?!!!" So he registered me within 90 seconds, not even exaggerating, it was THAT FAST!!!
Then the next person took me to an exam room - "Patient Champion" I think, was her title. Great title, right? My champion, she was! She was basically my advocate the whole entire time, making sure I didn't need anything, or if I did, she would bring it over to me. Loved her. I think her name was Sam? Not sure though. Such a doll!
The doc came in not even 2 minutes after my champion left the room - I have never experienced such LITTLE WAIT TIME!!! The doc was of Asian descent, I think his name started with an "L" but I don't remember for sure. He gave me a thorough physical exam, and did a full evaluation of heart/lungs, the whole thing. What I really appreciated about him was that he actually talked me through the whole eval, explaining what he was doing and why. Then he explained to me what his plan was - I was prescribed antibiotics if I didn't feel better in like 2 days, but he recommended that I only start them if I still didn't feel better. I never expected to learn so much from going to the doctor for a sore throat!! He was AWESOME!
After I saw the doctor, my champion came back in and gave me an info sheet about my pharyngitis, with how to treat it and the name of the meds that were prescribed in case I needed to get them later. She was really the sweetest thing ever. She walked me out and really just made me feel better because it was so obvious that every single one of these people actually CARED ABOUT ME. It's so refreshing to know that some people still do care for real, and aren't just throwing medication at you to then push you out the door.
Then, I got a follow-up email from my champion after I left! So if I had any questions or needed anything else!! Awesome - making it so convenient for me to get in touch with them!!
Oh, and they called me the next morning to ask how I was feeling! Who does that anymore?! Seriously, these people go ABOVE AND BEYOND when it comes to caring for their patients :)
I will absolutely be coming back to this place and bringing my kids here!! I saw a nice play area with TONS OF TOYS - my kiddos will love to play with these and hopefully feel better just from playing with a different set of toys than what they have at home.
Also - they had free wifi for me to use when my phone died and I needed to get a hold of my husband via iPad! They really are redefining the meaning of urgent care, and adding a much-needed customer service aspect to it.
And, the overall cleanliness of the place was stunning. Smelled good - didn't have that "doctor's office" kind of sterile smell. It smelled like the air freshener I use at my own house. Everything so clean and with that homey feel to it.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Amy K.Huntington, NY04May 24, 2016
I was really impressed. I'm a physician in the area and never thought that I'd go to an urgent care center because I'm generally quite healthy and am capable of taking care of most of my needs. Unfortunately, I got REALLY sick and knew I had the flu (nothing else would have made me feel so awful so quickly) but, I'm stubborn and refused to order Tamiflu (don't like to take meds unless I really have to) for myself until I could prove that the test was positive. Our practice doesn't perform flu testing so I decided to go in to have it done (really stubborn person that I am) and the staff there could not have been lovelier.
I sat in the corner in the waiting room (I was hacking out a lung and wanted to avoid getting anyone else sick) for about 5 minutes when a really nice medical assistant came to retrieve me. She just couldn't have been nicer, especially as I was apologizing for being such a mess, and noting that she should avoid contact with me as much as possible so that I didn't make her sick. The flu test I asked for was done quickly, though the swab up the nose wasn't too enjoyable (not her fault, just a really annoying sensation), and a doctor came in right away to check me out. The Tamiflu was ready in their pharmacy as I got there from across the hall, 30 steps maybe, and they were really nice too.
I don't intend to frequent Cure because, well, why would anyone want to frequent an urgent care center, but if anyone in my family needed something that I couldn't take care of, or if I needed something I couldn't take care of, I would definitely go back. I have recommended CURE to several of my patients (if our office is closed) and I've had really good experiences when discussing care for my patients with the doctors there.
With regards to CURE urgent care, I have to say VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Estefany A.East Northport, NY0223Aug 30, 2017
This was hands down the BEST urgent care I have ever been to! From the moment I called, Taylor at the front desk was so helpful and patient. When I came in both Taylor and a man were extremely diligent in getting my info and setting me up with a doctor. The nurse came in first and was very friendly and personable. Next, within seconds, the PA came in. He was also very helpful and decided to get another doctor's opinion first before proceeding, which I really appreciated. Who appeared to be the head doctor came in and was extremely knowledgeable, understanding, and informative. Besides the doctors and staff being wonderful, the best part of all is the pharmacy next door! I absolutely hate having to track out to a pharmacy after being prescribed something. Getting my prescription was seamless!!!
I will definitely be coming back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Peter P.Kings Park, NY14118Apr 13, 2015

I have been to Cure twice in the past 2 months. First for my sons sports injury, and another time for myself. Each time I was impressed by the cleanliness and pleased with the reception staff. Very quick and extremely friendly.
The nurses were friendly as well.
Unfortunately I was less impressed with the doctors. My sons doctor at least tried to make eye contact and be slightly engaging. My doctor had less bedside than a robot.
At the end of the day these are not our primary care doctors. They're urgent care. Would I use them again? Yes, their treatment was accurate and that's what you need in an urgent situation.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Misha P.Huntington, NY15622Oct 29, 2018
I'm giving it 2 stars mostly out of frustration for how long it took. 3 hours from the time I walked in until the time I left. There were 4 people ahead of me but I felt like they could manage their time better. The girl at the front desk was awesome though-- very considerate and apologetic. I still don't understand the wait though.

If I could have given Cure Urgent Care no stars I would have. The doctor we saw here has no bedside manner whatsoever. He also said that a penicillin allergy is not indicated by a rash and prescribed penicillin to my daughter who IS allergic to penicillin. Rash is an indication of penicillin allergy.
So just as a follow up. The doctor who owns the practice called me to ask about our "bad" experience last night. He seemed very concerned and listened to what I had to say. I am very impressed with him. I told him I would still not choose to go to the doctor I had last night, but, I would reconsider going to Cure in the future. He even offered to refund my copay(I don't have one, but, it was a nice offer).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
