Q:
When is the noise coming from their AC going to stop?
A:
Yesterday, Monday, the AC repair person turned down the buffer to reduce noise. Compressor arriving next week and we should be at 100% then and the portable chiller will be removed according to repair company.

Love staying at this place. Staff is friendly. Parking is easy & rooms are nice. I've stayed here many times and never been disappointed.

Christina really showed us what customer service is all about. I had an issue with my room , and the exceptional response she showed , along with her amazing personality , will encourage me to rebook with this hotel. The facility offered a nice breakfast and reasonably priced parking. Everything was clean.

Let's start with the beginning.. we checked in and then they last minute informed us about the extra $60 charge for being able to park in the hotel.. not a big issue but wish that was prior information instead of right when we check in. Next the gate was broken then entire weekend so we had to sit and wait until the desk attendant let us in at their leisure.
Elevators broken... began to go to our room.. ice machine broken.. soda machine broken.. ac unit broken and had to wait about 5/6 hours for it to be barely repaired... had to use the blow dryer under the cover for the heat which.. for obvious reasons rubbed us the wrong way...
Also the hotel water was EXTREMELY dirty. Could see brown specs in it...
Do what you want with that info! (Also beds are very uncomfortable)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michelle M.Austin, TX5314112Nov 25, 2023
The rooms were fine. But the a/c was stuck on 69 F and the only way to stop it blowing was to turn it off. And there were no extra blankets. Also, there was no hot water in the morning for a shower.

I paid with Affirm for my hotel room for one night, but I have 4 transactions charged to my credit card by the hotel (5 transactions when you include the Affirm payment). One for $50, one for $49.68, one for $92.43, and one for $83.84. When I call I am put on hold for over 30 minutes. Worst service I've ever received from a hotel.
Affirm Charge = $95.97
Crowne Plaza Deposit = $50.00
Misc Crowne Plaza Charge = $49.68
Misc Crowne Plaza Charge = $92.43
Misc Crowne Plaza Charge = $83.84
So I've been charged $371.92 for one night's stay.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 25, 2022
The beds were comfortable but that's where the compliments end. The hotel is very dated and in need of repairs. The elevators are really scary. They creak, the door wouldn't open once (had to spam thr button to get off), one of them shows the wrong floor number (13 instead of 14 for example). I'm pretty sure the fire alarm in my room didn't work and looked broken. Ceiling tiles didn't fit right, things were kind of dirty, yogurt cups at breakfast were a month expired.. I could go on. I was told breakfast was included with the room, then was handed a bill which I had to dispute. Stay anywhere else.

shame on IHG for offering rooms on pints but putting in play a 'new policy' unbeknownst to me. Living 2 hrs away, we booked a room using points for our neighbor who is getting CANCER (Aka chemo and radiation) nearby. At check-in tpray they're told the room we booked is not valid because we need to be there with them??? WTH??? This has NEVER happened in our years of staying and booking with IHG. we've gifted to friends, family, for our own hospital stays, etc and now WITHOUT NOTICE we need to be present??? the desk clerk was indifferent and could've cared less. and of course, when
put through to her supervised, straight to voicemail. crappy customer service. NO MORE IHG for us, disregard the 100's of nights stayed and $$ spent.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Miguel J.Houston, TX05Jul 12, 2023
Be careful giving out your credit card number to this place as they will max out your card.

Older hotel, decent conference facility and catering but in desperate need of a remodel
I spent two days at the Crowne Plaza for a business conference. The hotel is old and worn. For example, there's a City of Houston health department notice posted officially closing the pool. And the common area men's room has nonfunctional equipment- one urinal covered with a plastic bag.
The conference facilities are decent. Sound equipment worked, AV equipment worked, etc. WiFi was adequate.
Food: Catering was decent. Breakfast included eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, etc. The sausage was good but the potatoes were not. Lunch catering was pretty good with chicken breast, mashed potatoes, green beans, etc.
Staff: Staff seemed generally pleasant but not outgoing.
Bar: There's a restaurant and bar. Had a manhattan at the bar, and it was decent- not bad, not great, just decent.
Pool: There was a red waning sign from the City of Houston Health Department stating the pool was closed. Having a Health Department closure of any portion of a hotel is definitely not a good sign for guests.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
