A-1 Crown Transportation

I think it varies... Last night I had looked on Uber trying to find a cab downtown for the Big 12 games and it was a minimum of $17.50 and 1.5 times more than normal.

I decided to help a cab place and after weeding thru the fact that they didn't speak English very well, I was able to be picked up from my apartment and taken downtown for $6.

Give them a shot. I also waited less than 10 minutes to be picked up. Definitely worth it.

When needing a cab one night, I decided I didn't want to deal with the dispatcher at Yellow who always wants to know my exact address (HELLO, I'm tipsy and at a bar, heck if I know!), so I Googled "cabs" and Crown came up. I spoke with a dispatcher and asked her how long it would be for a cab. She said "about seven minutes." It actually took less than five minutes for my cab to arrive!

We got an awesome driver named Cindy. The fare to my apartment was less than what Yellow charges, and for once, the cab driver wasn't creepy! I'll definitely use this company again because it's cheaper and there are actually female drivers. They tend to stare less when they see a lesbian couple get in their cab.

The only negative thing I have to say about Crown is that they don't have a lot of cabs, and there won't be one available at all times of the day. I called them the next morning so I could go pick up my car and there wasn't a cab driver working that early (around 0900).

I was across the river in Riverside, called for a ride, about 15 minutes away back into town. After 30 min, I called them but driver said he couldn't even find the place to start. This went on for an hour and I had to cancel and find another ride.

I was not close to center of town but the taxi I took out found it no problem, as did my phone and laptop. Leaving two stars as I hope they normally do better in town.

I used this guy a few days back when I was in town for a conference and he drove so slowly to drive up fare. He basically tips himself with the money that I gave him as well. Unethical. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere! His van also reaks of smoke.

Dangerous driving! I was driving on Southwest Trafficway and a Crown Cab pulled in front of me. I honked and he slammed on the brakes causing me to do the same. It was a very dangerous choice, not only to pull into traffic against the light but to then slam on the brakes in front of a long line of cars.
