Great spot. The wine tastings are very good and you can order 1/2 glasses. The cheese plates are outstanding and typically come with several top cheese varieties, olives, bread/crackers and fruit for $8.50 - a meal in itself. Everything is top quality. Great place to pick up gifts too. I purchased cheese plates and a cookbook & CD as a hostess gifts. Owners are friendly & knowledgeable. There if you need them and they've perfected the art of when to not be there. Perfect place to take a date or meet friends or a group.
Excellent wine and cheese selections to go.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Katie S.Rancho Cordova, CA4111432Nov 26, 2012
The only thing I know about wine is that it is fermented grape juice... and I know all of you wine officianados just let out a collective shudder and have screamed "THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO IT THAN THAT" but I claim ignorance so it's OK.
We do a secret Santa at work where everyone chooses a name and get a gift for that person. We also do a "cheat sheet" where each person writes a few things they would like or are interested in. My secret santa didn't write anything... and to add to it I picked the boss lady, and being that I'm the new kid on the block I felt a little extra pressure to get it right... not that I have a dragon lady for a boss, she is actually quite brilliant, but still I wanted it to be something she would actually like... instead of a pair of snow man mittens stuffed with mints.
Fast forward to my visit to Creekside cellars...the owner was nice- gave me a little background on the types of wine that I was searching for and I was finally able to settle on a nice bottle... I forgot what I got because I had him wrap it up... but it was some kind of Pinot noir with a pretty label... hoping wine can be judged by its cover.
If I ever have to find a good bottle of wine i will go here. Many of my friends and a few coworkers have talked about doing the wine tasting, but I don't know that any of them have yet... I guess this review will remain TO BE CONTINUED

This is the only place in Chico that I know of that is selling expensive wine. Vino 100 is across the street but they are targeting the $20 range while Cellar Creek goes way beyond that price point. The shop is deceptively small and once you walk inside you realize that they have a lot of wine. Theyve got their stuff organized by variety, but up front they seemed to be displaying Napa stuff primarily. If you head to the back or look in around more you can find lots of French wine--thats what really sets them apart from Vino.
I cant speak to thier tastings but the winemaster there explained to us the way it works. It seemed to be quite an ordeal with full glass tasting and food and all kinds of stuff. It was like $20, a bit more than I wanted to spend considering Vino does 4 wines for $5.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Valerie G.Denver, CO23563Apr 24, 2009
I love love this place! The owners are really sweet and helpful people who love to take the time to talk to their customers and teach them about wine. We go to the tastings on the weekends and always find great and affordable wines and cheeses. This is one of our favorite date spots and is always a great time whenever we go.
