Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Seems like the chain does well since they always seem to be pretty busy. They don't have omelettes which is unusual but the biscuit eggs benedict is good. The hash browns are unique in that they are kind of like a cheesy shredded Au gratin.

Fried chicken is pretty good and is pretty filling as a meal.

The ambiance is entertaining and each restaurant seems to look identical.

went here with my family on our way to our South Carolina trip on Thursday May 9th 2024. We went at 9:30AM in the morning, and was seated right away. One thing i did not like was our server wore a mask, but however, we were able to hear her, and she took our orders efficiently. (i also understand if there is a policy that states one needs to wear a mask if not vaccinated, but still, covid is over.) We started with 3 coffees, which were very tasty. For breakfast, I ordered a short stack of pancakes with a side of beyond sausage, my mom ordered the mom's breakfast combo, and my dad ordered the same. food was very good, at least for breakfast. i ate all my pancakes and enjoyed the sausage too. We got our bill right away, and left a cash tip, and paid with the host up front. Restrooms were very clean, and they had a nice storefront. After a good breakfast, continued our trip to south carolina.

We went in at 730 pm for dinner on a Tuesday night by 830, we had talked to management and our entire meal was comped. For a not busy night the staff was very slow and can only home under trained. After seating us the server had to take our drink order 2 times as she forgot it the first time. When she brought the drinks to the table she had forgotten 1 out of the 3. She then brought a wrong drink and I gave up trying to get a half sweet tea half lemonade. After another long wait she brought us the food but never got us silverware. As we waited for forks I noticed the chicken on my wife's salad was still pink in the middle. I have no interest whatsoever in coming back to this location

Always a pleasant experience. The food hits the spot on road-trips and is a wonderful break from unhealthy fast food. I have always had great experiences with servers and staff in the store.
The store?? Oh it's my favorite part! Lol. We stop just to get candy and shop on plenty of quick trips to Orlando. I could spend my paycheck there. Between fun toys, old school candy and sports related clothes... LOVE

On Saturday, May 4th, I visited the restaurant in Emporia, VA, and sadly, it was different from what I had been used to when visiting Cracker Barrel. The bathrooms were beyond disgusting, and the food I ordered (chicken and dumplings) was horrible. Several people checked out in front of me before I received my takeout order, but not without complaints. Now, I'm not a complainer and usually will not say anything, even if the service I'm receiving isn't good. However, I decided to write you because I got a to-go order and left to get on the road to head home in Maryland and was terribly disappointed with my food. It wasn't good and a waste of my money because I threw it in the trash. Here it is; I thought the people in the line checking out in front of me were just complaining to be complaining, but in all honesty, the food was not good. Also, what I did not appreciate was the elderly gentleman who checked me out talked to me in front of other customers about the customers complaining about how they had been there 35-40 minutes before their food came out and how something was different with the food this time. The elderly gentleman told me that the lady complaining about her wait time, service, and food should have kept her opinion to herself. He said she should have thought it without opening her mouth. I thought what he said was very unprofessional and lacked concern about a legitimate complaint from a customer. It is not as if she was being loud or rude. She was very calm but expressing her experience. He thanked me for my patience even though I asked him to cancel my order since I had waited a while for my to-go order. He went to the kitchen, came back out with my food, and told me that it was just ready but just sitting back there. I always stop at this Cracker Barrel when I come through Emporia, VA, but after this experience, I cannot say I will return. It wasn't a good experience, but it usually is.

Just haven't enjoyed their food for a while now. we're traveling and stopped for breakfast. Took two hours as food took so long to be served.

Love Cracker Barrel on a road trip and this one was no exception. tried the new brisket bowl and it was very good

I remember why I quit going to Cracker Barrel. The service is terrible. Food sucked, and they couldn't even bring us silverware.

A Cracker Barrel is a Cracker Barrel right? Well not when you have over the top service from Raquel. Been a minute since I've been to one, and this one also serves spirits. If you're not the driver on I95, try the peach mimosa. As for food you can never go wrong with the chicken tenders or the roast beef.

Service here was very good all the way around. Everyone was polite and on top of everything. The problem here comes from the kitchen.. the food preparation had some issues The vegetable soup literally was 90 % broth. The roast turkey with filling was cool and had dry hard pieces in it. The soda ran out and i got a soda water. The other issues were minor and not worth mentioning . It's not the worst visit I had with this chain. Maybe the kitchen was have a bad night. 4/13/23
