Free shuttle to and from a parking garage on the Airtrain circuit. A clean hotel to spend a night in-between flights. Very pricey cafe and small store.
The staff was polite. Some of the other guests were loud in the halls.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Roger S.Media, PA2132234Mar 31, 2024
Great experience spending the night and using the park and ride. Excellent free made-to-order breakfast was part of the deal. Room was clean, nicely furnished, and with a good selection of selections. Car lot was secure. When you look at costs of the parking lots around Newark, the costs of staying here is reasonable. Would definitely stay here again when flying out of Newark.

I came here for one night , due to an early flight out. When I called for a pickup, they were there in 5 minutes, just like the women told me. As soon as I walked in, the front desk greeted me with warm welcome and thanked for being a Merriott member. She handed me a water bottle and took my info. I asked her about a morning shuttle and she booked it for me. I also asked about dinner and she gave me menus to restaurants along with the one in the hotel.
I went to the fitness room and I had some issues. No sanitary wipes and the TV's did not work. I have stayed here before and had a good experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jun 21, 2022Previous reviewNice place to stay if you have an early flight out of Newark airport. Good size room with all the electronics that you need. Has refrigerator and a good coffee machine. Free shuttle every 1/2 hour to the airport. Staff friendly and room was very clean.

Lots of hotels in the EWR area, no need to choose this one. It's dated but the tvs are huge. Customer service was once the forte but after today, I've changed my mind.

My husband and I decided to stay overnight in Newark to break up the travel time between Colorado and Europe for our almost 2 year old (and ourselves, since we'd be flying with him!) and opted for the Courtyard Marriot on the return leg of our trip. On the way out, we'd stayed at the airport Renaissance (you can check out my review for that hotel, which I will be posting shortly). While there are some similar things, there were also some differences that clearly set Marriot apart.
Both hotels have free airport shuttles, which is a huge plus. The drivers were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and the rest of the staff were nice. That's where the similarities end.
At Marriot, the best thing about our stay was the bed- it was clean and comfortable and had cotton sheets and blankets, which led to a very wonderful nights sleep for all of us, which was fantastic, given how tired and jet lagged we all were.
The breakfast in the morning was really good at Marriot - it was hot and made to order, and the woman running the breakfast bar was friendly and efficient.
If we ever find ourselves staying overnight by the Newark airport again we'd hands down choose The Courtyard over the Renaissance- seriously, we wouldn't even think about it.
The only thing that would have made our stay better was if their pool would have been open- it looked like it had been converted into a storage area, so sad!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 14, 2021
Literally the best one that I have stayed in. I came from a DISGUSTING hotel and this one saved me. You don't hear the planes with is a major plus. I appreciate that you can choose when people come in and clean especially around covid. They have an amazing kitchen that is open relatively late. The halls, room and bathrooms are spotless. They are so friendly and helpful.
One thing that I did think was odd, was I nicked my hand coming out of the elevator on something I had and had a cut, we stopped at the front desk and asked for a bandaid and they told us that we had to buy a pack at the kiosk for snack and stuff, that seemed a little far fetched, but other than that, not a biggie.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - M C.Lakeland, FL210915Mar 26, 2023
We stayed at this hotel with a group of friends. Things started off great when ordering drinks from the Bistro. After a few drinks my spouse went up to the woman working and said I would like another drink for myself and my husband. At that moment, the woman changed her demeanor towards us. The bistro closes at 10 and even at 9:58 she wouldn't serve anyone in our group and told us we needed to leave. Things got heated and I kindly went to ask the lady where we can go. The lady and her trainer wouldn't let me speak so yes I put my hand up and said "Shut the F up and let me speak." Here she told the manager I put my hand in her face, which didn't happen and even told them to pull the tapes. The manager said we stay in the lobby and the employee was wrong for telling us to leave. When the manager said we could stay, the bistro employee and her coworker were constantly talking about us, saying stuff under their breath. I then asked the manager to remove my tips from my purchase because of how this lady was acting. After the lady was off, she lingered with her coworker friend in the bistro area and under their breath would say things, at one point after I got a water I stared at them and one friend heard them call us fag**ts. That really escalated things and I did ask out loud, are we fag**ts to you because you're a f****** Muslim? She then said I was being racist. I said no you're being homophobic. My husband heard this and got angry and raised his voice and our friends were upset too as they heard it and had things recorded. The other employee being trained said she felt threatened as if one of us were going to hit her. Total lie and I also said pull the tapes as that never happened. After some yelling the manager said we must leave. They called the cops, 5-6 showed up, because they had a call things were worse than an oral argument. The cops understood our side and saw we were leaving as requested. I was trying to find a hotel at 1am and get an Uber. The cops apologized. So long story short, AVOID this hotel. They will only defend their homophobic employees. We are not racist, sexist, violent or anything else but when I'm called a fag**t and they say untruthful things like we threatened them, I won't stand for that. Especially when there are cameras to show things were only verbal and non threatening. (No one even said they were going to throw a fist or anything). End of the day, the hotel defended their homophobic employee, kicked out gay guest and had the cops called on us. Truly times have changed and even gay people are now losing their rights to the woke individuals that start things but immediately play victim when one is defending themselves.

I really enjoyed my stay at this location. It was cozy and surprisingly quiet despite its proximity to the airport. The food options were good and the staff was very friendly. It was the perfect place to stay during the holiday season. My only wish is that they provided a shuttle into the Newark area. That said, I would definitely recommend this location.

I have stayed in a lot of Marriott properties and this one was pretty typical, though it did seem to have been recently renovated. The lobby area, the halls and our room were impeccably spotless.
The front desk staff was friendly and fast. We did not take advantage of the bar or Bistro.
The one thing I did note was that entering the front door to check in, and again in the back area near the elevators, we encountered a very, very strong, lingering smell of pot. I'm not opposed to anyone enjoying their Friday night- maybe Courtyard can upgrade their ventilation.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
