My dog loves this place! He's starts crying when we get close. He can't wait to get out and go play with the other doggies.
The owners are wonderful, kind and very caring people. They want the best for your pet and treat them as if they were theirs.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Morgan C.San Francisco, CA01Apr 18, 2021
Absolutely LOVE this place!! They take amazing care of our dog and he's always so excited when we pull up so I know he loves it as much as we do!! They made special notes in his file, like how he gets anxious in thunderstorms, so they could take special care with his unique personality.
When our trip was unexpectedly extended an extra day, they were more than accommodating. They truly went above and beyond to make sure he had everything he needed for the extra day. When our pup was too stubborn to get in the car, they gave me a hand and helped lift him safely into the back of my Jeep for the ride home. Couldn't speak more highly of this amazing place!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ruth N.Chesterfield, VA01Oct 3, 2019
I started using CB&B almost two years ago and this place is GREAT! I don't take boarding my four legged lovers lightly and spent many many hours researching Richmond area boarding facilities, their reviews on multiple sites, and their business websites - I felt most comfortable with this business and boy am I glad I did!
We are always received wonderfully, my dogs are always happy when I pick them. They are always incredibly healthy (both physically and mentally) when they are dropped off and upon return. Upon my older dog's spa day, they sent me the most amazing pictures of him completely relaxed and clearly feeling pampered! You can tell they love animals (one occasion I picked them up and there was a bark-mitzvah happening for one of the boarded dogs!).
They are always friendly and accommodating... For me, it is worth the 40 minute drive to know that my babies are being so well taken care of; I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else in the Richmond area. If you are looking for a place to entrust your pets with, hands down 100% go with Countryside Bed & Biscuit. I can't sing their praises enough!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kara S.Henrico, VA67710Sep 9, 2016
I submitted a form on their web site and was completely upfront with them on the phone that we had an abused rescue dog that is skittish around new people. I received an email the night before my trip effectively canceling my reservation, saying they hadn't read my email because it ended up in their SPAM folder. That's right - a form from their own web site was overlooked because it went to the SPAM folder. Sure.
I almost had to cancel my plane ticket and entire trip but thankfully found another boarding business that cares about all dogs, not just the easy ones.
If you have an easy dog I'm sure this place is fine. If you need any special help or understanding, go elsewhere.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Cary S.Richmond, VA0153Jul 16, 2012First to Review
Love these guys. They take care of our girls (dogs) and accommodate them individually (they know if one isn't acting like herself, the one with a phobia of thunder gets extra attention if a storm comes, etc.). Very nice folks who love the animals. And they're certified vet tech's too, so they've got some real veterinary competency behind them.
The only down side is the drive since they're on Jude's Ferry, but you should see how excited our girls get as we get close. It's a good sign for us that they're happy to be there.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Tammie H.Powhatan, VA472614Jun 26, 2017
We have a mini Australian Shepherd that isn't fond of strangers but he loves the staff at Countryside Bed & Biscuit. That tells me they give him attention and are good to him! Clyde gets a bath before we pick him up and he smells good and looks great. He loves pool time and playtime with the other pooches! We don't worry when he is at Countryside!

This was a tremendous find! I had been taking my older mini-dachshund to another pet resort, and while I loved it, it was very pricey. We just got a second wiener dog, a puppy, and with 2 dogs the other place became cost prohibitive. I toured and researched numerous other places, and was so glad to find Countryside! Benny and Daisy have been there several times for day care and boarding, and they just completed a week long stay. They are happy, healthy and exhausted! I know my dogs, and I can tell that they are well cared for and treated with love at Countryside. Thanks to Emily and her staff - A+ all the way!!

I'm a little different customer as I have an Umbrella Cockatoo that I need to board from time to time. I was honestly a little unsure until I got there and all my concerns went away. When I picked him up, he seemed to have a real affinity for the staff. Birds are pretty easy to read once you know them and he was very at home there after just four days. We will be back and it looks like we may board our Dachshund also

I used them for years and then the last time I took my dog there the owner complained that my dog "barked too much" and my dog had a back injury that wasn't explained to me when I picked her up. Never again.
