Went to Cote Brassiere for a family dinner to celebrate my sister's birthday.
      It was a delightful evening.
We had salmon, sea bass and burgers among our group. It was all fresh, satisfying and delicious.
I'm a bit of a coffee snob so if I tell your their coffee is perfect- it's really perfect!

I was very pleasantly surprised when I recently ate at Cote Brasserie. The set menu (available until 7pm) is excellent value at £12.95 for 3 courses. I found the quality to be very high and was really impressed. I ordered the butternut squash salad to start as I wanted something light and it was delicious, the dressing was really nice and not too overpowering. My friend had the whitebait and it was a large sized portion and she really enjoyed it and was given complimentary bread on request. For our main dishes I went for the breaded chicken and was able to substitute the mash for fries without a problem. The piece of chicken filled the plate and was really tasty. I would have liked a bit of extra sauce but there was a decent enough amount. My friend had a crepe with ham and egg, which came with salad and fries and it looked great. So far so good, so we decided to spoil ourselves and indulge in dessert. I tried the apple crumble, which was so good! A perfect ending to the meal. My friend had coconut sorbet, which was around 4 scoops! You certainly can't complain at the portion sizes.

It was great to walk away nice and full after great quality food and at such a bargain price. It is probably some of the best food I've eaten in Blackheath! We will certainly be back!

I live a road away from here, and we recently discovered I have a gluten intolerance, so it's always tricky for me to find somewhere to eat where I don't have to be super picky, so we did a quick google for a local restaurant that's respected for its coeliac-friendliness, and it's the one restaurant in the entire village with a specialist gluten-free menu (which they've recently upgraded stylistically to look like a regular menu).

I'm there all the time now, so I think I know it well enough to leave a comprehensive review:

The breakfast is fabulous, they give you a good range of choices, and I've tried the French and the full English. Everything is cooked to perfection, and they don't mind when you make substitutions (I ask for no sausage and extra bacon), and, most importantly there's a range of coffees and the breakfast menu closes at a reasonable time.

There's a lunch/early evening set menu, and you get a nice big portion for your money, but you can also use the main menu. My favourite item from the set menu is the endive salad with roquefort, so so tasty, but also a starter! The mains I love (from both menus) are the steak frites and the roast duck breast - I'm a huge duck fan anyway, but it's to die for - the texture is beautiful, and there's a great range of flavours to keep your palate happy! On to the most important part, there's a huge range of wines. As a red wine drinker, my favourite is the Bordeaux, but you can always go back and try a different one with every visit!

The staff are lovely, they're friendly, and you always get house filter water in a really cool branded bottle that they top up as soon as they see you empty it. The food comes out in good time, they make sure you're happy whenever it comes over, but you feel very comfortable and unrushed. It's great value for money, a great atmosphere, clean, and you will always feel like leaving a tip, even though service is included. That to me is the sign of a good restaurant, and it's about time something like this arrived in the village. I adore this place.

We decided to celebrate my sisters' birthday at Côte, Blackheath, last Sunday.
The service - when it eventually arrived - was surprisingly impressive. Maddalena was very friendly and accommodating but every stage of our meal had an over-extended interval, to the point where we even had to get up to request the bill.
The food, however, was completely underwhelming and £148 later, we all wish we had just gone to Pizza Express, or even Nando's.
The chicken was dry and tasteless; the steak - which had 'served pink' as the only option - was tough and cooked through; the calamari was greasy and tasteless.
All in all, it was a very disappointing experience and I am rather embarrassed and upset to have been the hostess of such an underwhelming 'celebration meal'.

Called in on the off chance for dinner last night, power failure in Greenwich prevented meal at booked restaurant, managed to squeeze us in at table near serving area, not too bad.
Good choice, good service, pleasant attentive staff.
A La carte and specials menus, I went for crab mayonnaise with sour dough bread, my wife roquefort salad followed by the haddock special and steak hache followed by coffee.
      All good quality, good timing.
      Will return

We tried Cote Blackheath's lunch special, and were pleasantly surprised. The portions were large, and of good quality.
The service was friendly and efficient, despite the restaurant being quite busy.
Blackheath has needed a new good value, quality restaurant for a while, and it seems Cote, with their well established offering, is exactly what was required.

Popped in for lunch the other day and it met all the requirements of a quick and easy meal. Our waiter was friendly and precise, our food was correct and tasted nice. I had the chicken and it was actually really nice.
