This is for Thomas in maintenance. He came to fix our stove and he was very helpful and personable.
Unfortunately the maintenance doesn't have their own review system and therefore this review goes to the entire complex. Specifically regarding maintenance !

I made a maintenance request about my shower and had it fixed within a week or so. Manuel B took care of my request and he was polite and also efficient. He even noticed that the lights in my bathroom needed replacing and luckily already had some light bulbs with him which I was super happy about because I didn't need to make a separate maintenance request. Overall, the maintenance people here are always great :)

Dionslo Ivey did a great job fixing the rod in my walk in. I gave permission to enter when I wasn't home, came home to my clothing rod with my dresses perfectly still hung up and everything neat intact! Always reliable

I lived in this complex for four months. I was forced to leave due to the mold in the apartment, smell of mold, mold around the windowsills. The walls are so thin. You can hear the neighbors sneeze, next-door and footsteps. They keep you up all night due to the fact that this apartment has such thin walls and flooring cannot stress enough do not stay here the companies tries to squeeze every penny out of your lease as they can horrible experience

I've lived here since December 2019, and it isn't terrible but it's also not great. I believe that CVV deserves two stars - one for maintenance and the second for the hard working cleaning crew. For those searching for apartments in San Diego and flipping through these reviews, here are my honest thoughts and experiences at CVV from 2019 - 2022;
Maintenance: Hands down amazing and friendly. Always on time when we needed something fixed or replaced. Very informative about the building and it's history of plumbing, establishment, and overall structure of the complex.
Leasing office: The first 6 months living here was good, until the college students on both sides of our unit had drunken parties almost every.single.night. A lot of screaming and fights can be heard from other peoples balconies, a lot of domestic violence around here, the walls are paper thin so you will hear everything from online dating video calls next door, to angry outbursts at someone's dinner table. We paid a visit to the leasing office twice, begging management to ask our neighbors to keep it down after 10pm (which were the community rules as stated on the lease agreement). I also spoke with the leasing manager, he said he couldn't do anything unless we had ample amount of complaints filed under the same units causing disturbance. My number was no longer able to connect to our main leasing agent (Brad), and it turns out he blocked our numbers. It was hurtful and frustrating. From then on, we have felt undervalued as tenants and have been silent since. Every night, we set alarms to file dispatch online because it'll take 30 minutes for them to knock on our neighbors doors so we managed to get to bed before 11pm. That's IF dispatch showed up. It was a hit or miss.
Cleanliness: Buildings were cleaned regularly, but the college students are extremely dirty. There's always garbage bags leaking down the halls and it's intense during the summer when it gets hot. People smoke inside their units, I have filed a complaint about a student smoking in the halls as we walked by with our infant.
Covid Policy: College students roam around coughing, sniffling, red eyed without masks. I got covid from a very VERY sick student while I was pregnant. He looked like he was about to fall over in the elevator. It took me 4 months to recover.
Parks/ Location: It was great living across UTC mall - although there has been a major increase of homelessness. The trolley is also right across so that plays a part in the increase of traffic.
Amenities: The pool, gym, movie theatre, game night, arts and crafts were okay. We participated in some art events but the hosts were obvious about doing it for Yelp reviews and pictures to show how great it would be to live at CVV. Supplies were always very limited per family yet they urged attendees to leave positive Yelp reviews. It was awkward and cringey.
Security: A lot of break ins - there is at least one car or two a day that have newly smashed windows. It never felt safe in the garage. There's always glass everywhere and homeless lurking around the trash with shopping carts. It's only a matter of time that our windows get smashed in. We apologize for any issues you have encountered with getting a hold of our leasing office. We assure you, we do not have the ability to and would not block yours or any phone number. We sincerely apologize for any issues with break-ins or theft that you have witnessed at our community.
