French Finger Food and Bubbly Champagne, What's Not to Love?

On any given night, the crowd at Corridor 44 varies from tourist who accidentally stumbled into a champagne bar to local celebrities looking for beautiful people and I love the diversity.

And despite the variances in the crowd, the food is consistently delicious. From petite sandwiches to truffle fries and bite-size creme brulee, every item is meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. As with any LoDo bar the cocktails are a bit over priced, but made strong. I suggest ordering a $30 bottle of champagne to share with a group. Speaking of groups, it's the best way to beat the crowds and get a seat in the decadent lounge in the back of the bar.

So whether you're looking for a casual Thursday happy hour or a gussied up night out, Corridor 44 can deliver.

I want to like Corridor 44, because I keep hearing they have fantastic food. Three scenarios have happened to me here.

1. I couldn't get in the door. This happened a while back. The bouncer kept letting people in and out, but not my group.
2. I breezed in the door this past weekend in the mood to celebrate, but stood at the bar for 10 minutes and couldn't get service.
3. I did have a cocktail here once during an early afternoon crawl with a friend, and we'd probably had too many before we even got there. We did get great service, but we were also the only people in the place.

Maybe I'm just the wrong demographic or something. But after a few tries here, I'm ready to turn my attention elsewhere.

We stopped in Corridor at about 10pm for dinner/cocktails last night...one of my new favorite dinner spots.

We have always had drinks at Corridor, always a chill vibe/good crowd.

The food is amazing.  Small but delicious portions.  Along with our champagne, we had a brie/prosciuotto/apple cocktail sandwich, lamb lollipops and truffled fries (they gave bistro vendome's frites a run for thier money).

We will def be back for dinner/higly recommmended for late night eats.

Lets see, Corridor is ok I guess. The scene is pretty chill and the crowd pretty average. The bartenders and wait staff are good. I think the ratio of women to men is about 70/30, likely due to this being a champagne bar. The one thing they have that can be hard to find is Hangar Vodka (most flavors). The only things I've had on the menu are the oysters (good) and oyster shooter (amazing). I would recommend this as a first stop before going out or for a relaxed evening Sunday-Tuesday. Enjoy!

Finally tried the oysters here last week...$12 for half a dozen chilled in the half shell, bigger than I normally like but still delicious and fresh. But what's really worth trying is their $3 oyster shooter served in a flute with various flavorful accoutrements already mixed in and best of all, a champagne floater! Happy New Year's to my mouth!

We were in Denver last weekend to take the chill off of the Nebraska winter. Believe it or not, there's more snow and colder weather in the plains of Nebraska than the mountains of Colorado.

Anyway, we came here for a champagne aperitif before dinner next door at Rioja. The atmosphere is nice. There's dark wood, gold, and chandeliers everywhere. We were dressed casually--dark jeans, sweaters--but we weren't the most casual ones there. I saw a guy wearing a backwards baseball cap at the end of the bar.

We ordered two splits. Pretty expensive, but you're drinking champagne at a bar, so what do you expect? I like the flexibility of their menu. In addition to champagne by the glass, you can order champagne by the split (2 glasses), half bottle or full bottle. They also organize the menu by strength and style of the champagne/sparkling wine. If you're not into sparkling wine, they also have a full bar and about 10 beers on tap. Not too shabby!

Overall, I would definitely come here again. Staff were pleasant and efficient.

We enjoyed some bubbly at Corridor 44. I love the french decor, it's very chic! The champagne selection was vast and had glasses and bottles in all price ranges. We didn't have any food because we were headed out to dinner. Definitely a great place for a pre-dinner champagne cocktail.

Love the shabby chic decor!  The warm chandalier lighting sets the tone for this adorable hip spot!  The oversized booths are luxurious and the tables for 2 with their own chandalier are simply charming!  Unfortunately, the staff is just shabby!

We had a great visit to Corridor 44. Living in LA, I was most excited about the bill - very inexpensive for champagne and snacks! Only $8 for champagne cocktails .. yum!

We shared quite a few small plates and the most impressive were the lobster rolls, the lobster tempura salad and the scallops. I was not impressed by the potato skins or brie/apple sandwiches.

It gets REALLY crowded here .. go early and get a table.

WOW - the previous reviews make me sad.
Hubby and I pop in here on occasion for a bubbly beverage, either before dinner or after a show, or...  It just makes me smile to think about this place.
We have never eaten here - and we always sit at the bar- and we never go at prime time. Maybe that's the big diff.
I've tried a number of the mixed champagne drinks - none have wooed be, but i'm certain there is one on the menu that is "my" drink!

Hubby always gets the italian twist - it come with lemoncello - mmmm!
I tried the Hawaiian and the Chocolate Raspberry truffle last night.

I find the bar tenders to be very pleasant, helpful and friendly...  Hopefully others will give this place another try.
The decor is fun! There is a back room that would rock for a private party - i just need to find something to need a private party for!
They play old movies up in a corner TV, and those can be fun to watch as well!

We like this place!

We stopped in for a flight of bubbles before having dinner at Rioja.  We sat at the bar and had some pleasant chit chat with the bartender.  I liked the little tree type structures that held the glasses for the champagne flight we tried.  I can't comment on the food since we didn't order any.  It is small inside and reservations would probably be recommended if you're hoping for a table and some food.  I found the long hallway with mirrors a bit deceiving on my trip to the bathroom... just how long is this hallway??
If you're hanging out downtown and in the mood for  a few drinks... Corridor 44 has some decent options for a reasonable price.

I didn't like it here, but it wasn't horrible.  I ordered the "staff favorite" champagne, which was a pretty rose color.  The flavor was a bit too sweet for me as I prefer my champagne to be dry.  I also ordered the creme brulee dessert.  The presentation of my dessert was a bit awkward.  The rectangular dish was almost as wide as the table.  Upon it lie 4 miniature pie crusts (think the diameter of a quarter) filled with what tasted like cheesecake pudding and vanilla bean and separated by a single raspberry.  The creme brulee lacked the caramelized sugar that makes the dessert and the crust tasted like it had been frozen and then thawed.  I highly doubt I'll ever return to spend over $20 for too-sweet champagne and a sad example of creme brulee.

Wow - if bars had egos...

A friend of mine and I split off from the birthday group last night to slip in to Corridor 44 for flights of champagne while everyone else went for gelato.  We walked in and took our seats in the front window and waited 20 minutes before asking the hostess if we might get a server.  She told us that our server was closing out a ticket and that she'd be with us soon.

Ten more minutes passed, so we just leaned over the bar and asked for the flights ourselves.  When our server finally brought the champagne she was nice enough but she seemed oblivious to the fact that moss was growing on our asses.

Just so we're clear - I'm doing *you* a favor by going to your bar - not the other way around.

What a buzz kill.

The first time I went to Corridor 44 it was for an amazing surprise engagement party that my bosses and co-workers put together for me! We had the back room which was so cozy and the champagne was, of course, delicious.

I went back to Corridor 44 last night with my girlfriends and each of us ordered a flight of champagne. They were all quite good and our waitress gave us just enough information about how to drink the flight (top to bottom) that we weren't all confused. That's about the only really helpful information she provided. I wasn't really wowed when my girlfriend asked what was unique about the varietal flight - and our waitress proceeded to basically tell us that it had a variety of champagnes. Oh - thanks for clearing that up.

We did not eat anything at Corridor 44, so I can't comment on the food. I will say it was easy to get a table at 6:30, but when we left at about 7:45 the place was packed! I noticed that as the room filled the wait staff became more frantic. It's probably a good thing that we left when we did.

The ambiance at Corridor 44 is nice and the champagne is tasty. I will probably be back.

I was financially taken advantage of at Corridor 44 during a late night stop - $60 for two St Germaine cocktails...not cool, I will not be back.

I'm sure this place has the potential to be awesome, if you go...learn from my mistake and make it your first stop of the night.

Overall, I had an enjoyable experience. From reading everyone else's posts- I think it's because I went alone on a Sunday night.

Love the champagne list- a split of Prosecco for 9 bucks- you can't beat it. And it went perfect with my half dozen oysters on the half shell. The fries with truffle oil were literally unreal- and the fact that there were sweet potato fries in there was an unexpected treat. Salad was too vinegar heavy, but none the less a great mix of good quality greens.

Their opportunities lie in the details- I didn't say anything, but the bottle of tabasco that was handed to me for my oysters was so incredibly old, the tabasco had turned from red to brown and was literally caked and dried on the inside of the bottle so bad that a vigorous shake couldn't get it off.  Slightly beyond horrifying. How long had it been behind that bar?!

I was a little put off/amused by the fact that the bartender named my tab "the girl" so on my receipt where the person's name, or table number usually goes- it just said "the girl." Classy.

If this review was strictly for the champagne and lovely and charming interior, I'd give it 5 Stars. However, the 3 Star rating is for the service.

We arrived in the Larimer Square far earlier than anticipated. http://static.px.yelp....
This area totally reminded me of San Diego's downtown Gas Lamp district, which is an area that I really enjoy visiting. Anywho, we were early for our dinner ressies next door at Rioja, so decided to pop in at Corridor 44 for a pre-dinner cocktail. From the moment I walked in, I fell in love with this place. It was dimly lit, with glass chandeliers, lamps above the bar, and striped wall paper. http://static.px.yelp....
Booths aligned the wall across from the bar. The furniture seemed to have a modern flair, but still managed to add to the classic and sophisticated interior. Towards the back of the bar, there was a group of gals, and looked like they were having a blast. At that point, I missed and totally wished my gal pals were with Dalane and I, since I know they'd enjoy the ambiance as much as we both did.

It was pretty crowded since it was a Saturday night, so we waited awhile on one side of the bar to get a bartender's attention, and decided to see if service was better on the other end. Still ended up waiting a long time to finally get a bartender to give us a drink menu. Our gal bartender wasn't smiling, nor friendly, and knew a drink decision had to be made asap. We didn't know if another 10+ minutes would pass before our drink order was to be taken.

Drink menu had a vast champagne selection by the glass, like Gloria Ferrer, Mumm, Moet, and other French, American, and even Spanish champagnes and cavas. If we had more time to spare and really wanted to splurge, we would've ordered a bottle of Veuve Cliquot or even Dom (JK, yah, right!!!!) Since we didn't have the time nor the money, we settled for respective glasses of Mumm and Gloria Ferrer, and surprisingly the bartender served it to us faster than anticipated. This was an instance of how it can be good to have low expectations (which is bad, I know). We totally enjoyed our glasses of bubbly, and decided to close out, which (surprise!) took awhile to get our bartender's attention. She didn't even look at us upon giving us the bill, and when Dalane asked her a question, she totally ignored her. Hmmph!

If I'm in the Denver area again, I would definitely return to Corridor 44 with more friends and to try the food. Hopefully, the service would be vastly different from my first experience.

This isn't a spill-over place for the drunkards coming from trashy establishments like 5 Degrees, Monarck, etc. This place is for people with some sort of decency and personality.

Love the champagne mixed drinks, the bartenders are amazingly cool to hang out. Can get extremely crowded, but if you get a chance, check out the back rooms - very cool place to hang out. Definitely recommended. One of my favorites, along with Parallel 17 on 17th and Franklin.

I am never going here again.

The first time I went, earlier this year, I had a pleasant, if costly, time. good food, swift service and great champagne -- which makes everything better.

not even the $40 bottle of champers i shared could have saved last night, however. what was once a classy, serene little joint is now a replica of every bar within a mile of larimer square.

one word: karaoke.
another: sports.
last one: bro.

all this at a gilded, chandeliered champagne bar.

we went there for dessert after my birthday dinner. by the time we noticed the shitpile we'd stepped in, it was too late. the bottle was open. fortunately we didn't order any food -- not that we were given the option.

loud, rude, sloppy, stupid: pick an adjective, it applies. we drank our champagne at record speed and ran for our lives.

here's a scene that encapsulates the experience: while i was in the restroom (the elaborate sign was obviously ripped off the men's room door, by the way), a large group of popped collars arrived at the bar. my boyfriend watched in silent terror as they proceeded to give each other high-fives and scream, "KISS MY ASS!!!!" at each other repeatedly.

thankfully, we left moments later. we're never going back, either.

the one star is for what corridor 44 used to be. also, i accidentally clicked on it and now it won't let me take the star away.

WARNING: not writing in caps as i am massively hungover.

as others posted i agree this place is chic. but they failed to mention the elegance, charm and welcoming atmosphere. i'm a fan!

the name itself is so catchy. this is one of THE sexiest places to have drinks. "meet me at corridor 44" sounds like code for "sexy time" (which it's not guys, geez!). either sitting outside or indoors, the decor is definitely eye catching and fresh. i loved the white and black chairs and booths as well as the sexy low lighting.  the most eye catching piece of decor is hands down the lavish yet antique looking chandeliers.

my friends and i probably drank the most expensive champagne in denver but was well worth it. cannot vouch for the food as we decided against it but hope to try some dishes next time. yes, i am optimistic.

will go back. service is cool and have to throw in the fact that the ladies room was extremely nicely kept.

We stopped in here for a pre-dinner drink during a Thursday night out in Denver.  Based in past reviews, it's a good thing we went in early on an off-night, because I really enjoyed Corridor 44!  I loved the decorations, including an amazing Dom Perignon quote on the wall, and the champagne list (champagne cocktails included) is extensive and well-edited.  Our service (at about 7:30) was wonderful.  Our bartender checked on us the perfect amount and was a friendly conversationalist.

Another chic little hotspot opens on Larimer? Um yeah, that's hardly news.

But hear me out: Corridor 44, the latest lounge/restaurant to open its doors in the epicenter of LoDo is more than just another wanna-be LA poser bar. Instead, this little shabby chic gem has departed (thankfully) from Colorado's brewery roots, and exchanged the all-too-familiar beer meets meat-and-potatoes menu for a menu of sparkling wines, Champagne and raw fare.

Occupying the former home of Josephina's, Corridor 44 is operated by the nationally acclaimed Portland restaurateur Eric Laslow and is named after a long hallway that runs the length of the space. Idle trivia aside, the space has true charm; set one foot into Corridor 44 and you'll be greeted by a large bar, ornate chandeliers, zebra print carpets, and scads of mirrors that aren't just ideal for incognito people-watching, but also help make the 2,200 square foot space seem just a little less tight.

If treats from the vine, animal prints and stealthy people-watching isn't enough to pique your interest, Corridor 44 also serves up a carte du jour of small plates ranging in price from $4 - $11. The highlights of the menu are Corridor 44's collection of "crudo," or raw dishes. Far from Vegan, these small raw meat plates were clearly designed to satisfy your inner carnivore. Almost exclusively meats, a few "crudo plates" to sample are the salmon roe, ceviche, and scallops tartar. Now, if you need to temper the raw offerings, try the oven-roasted mussels with sausage, fennel and garlic. There's even a crab and roasted corn flan selection that is a must try.

All in all, Corridor 44 is a very good raw deal.

I went there for dinner with a friend last night and I have to say I am whole-heartedly disappointed with our choice.

We ordered a flight of their oysters on a half-shell and not only did it take about a half hour for them to come out, (which seems like forever when you're craving something) when they did, they were flavorless and obviously old. We ordered some wine as well, that was ok. Nothing spectacular but not by fault of the restaurant. I suppose we should have taken a clue when every other restaurant was packed to the seams on that street while the Corridor had only about a dozen patrons that night.

The service was terrible beyond belief. When asking to be seated, we were rudely shooed back outside and told to sit at the empty table on the patio. Don't get me wrong, that's where we wanted to sit, but had I asked the waitress to sit INSIDE the EMPTY restaurant, I am pretty sure she would have bitten my head off.  After our food arrived, we dug in right away (we were excited for our oysters) before realizing that the waitress forgot to give us napkins. So I went inside and politely asked if I could steal some of the cloth napkins from an empty table. The rude waitress (not ours) told me NO and tried to give me a tiny bar napkin instead!!!! I stole the cloth napkins anyway =) My friend likes to eat her oysters with lemon, salt and pepper.... but there wasn't any salt and pepper on our table. We had asked for some earlier along with some water but it was taking our waitress FOREVER to bring them out so I went inside and asked the bartender if I could bother him for some (because it's not like he or that mean waitress were DOING anything, they were just chatting away). The mean waitress lady rolled her eyes and went and got me some...except when I got outside, we realized that there as no salt in the salt shaker!!! At that point I was way too scared to go back inside and ask for anything else. So we stuck it out...ate our oysters with the empty salt shaker and the water that never came and LEFT. And let me tell you I am NEVER GOING BACK!!!! GUH! That whole experience was NOT worth the 50 bucks we had to pay for the dozen oysters and two drinks.

I gave the place two stars. One because of their location  and the other star is for their cocktail menu. I recommend that if you do decide to try this place, only go for their drinks. I think they have a good champagne happy hour . Our waitress was bad, but that was only because she was the only one serving that night I think so I felt a little bad for her and at least she wasn't mean like the other lady.

We did not eat here. We only took advantage of the prime real estate from which to people watch. We had drinks here two nights in a row when visiting Denver last October. The wine we selected was good, and the service was fine. Mind you, it was about 4:00pm, maybe 5:00pm at the latest, when we were here, so being attentive shouldn't have been hard for the waitresses. We really enjoyed watching all of the characters walk up and down the street - some of the best people watching I've encountered in a while.

This place seems as though it has more potential than anything else, though.....it's really chic and trendy and modern, and when you go to use the restroom, you discover a very secretive private room (which you're unsure of how to deal with - should you be scared, should you laugh, should you pretend like you didn't see it?)

Overall, though, we enjoyed it for a late afternoon cocktail....we never ate food here, and I don't think I would just because there are so many other amazing restaurants within walking distance of this place.

Disclaimer: I didn't eat anything here, and I didn't sample any of their fancy champagne cocktails, so all I can really vouch for is that this is a darn cool place.  I had read reviews back when it opened declaring this was a great use of a narrow space that basically just shoots straight back from the street (hence the corridor name), but the decor really creates such a neat feel on top of the unique layout.  It's the kind of place where you feel compelled to wander around admiring all the little design touches, and it's tough to decide where you want to finally sit: the main bar with its fabulous light fixtures?  A chic booth?  The sneaky, almost private room in the back?  It was a gorgeous day, so when three of us stopped there for a drink killing time before a dinner reservation, we actually sat on the patio to admire the foot traffic on Larimer.  We opted for a champagne flights  because it not only sounded especially classy, but it came in this neat little holder to showcase all three glasses.  I plan to go back to explore further and maybe order some fancy food.
