After a cupcake breakfast I was still hungry, and had the feeling I should get something more substantial. So we headed across the street to this place, which it turns out is at the base of the Sears Tower (I don't think I'll ever call it the Willis.)
Sweetie insisted I get a salad. Insisted. She is normally very direct, but I can wriggle around things; this time, there was no way out. We were headed to Wisconsin and a presumed diet of brats and cheese, so salad was a necessity. Not a healthy sandwich? Nope. Sigh. I had the Asian salad. It was good enough- pretty fresh, diverse ingredients, tasty enough. But not satisfying, and absolutely not what I would have ordered here (and given the option, there were more interesting food places nearby.) Oh, well.
Service was okay, not great. Prices are high, but hey, consider the location. The place is clean and open; there are tables out front and a short bar in the back with a view of the lobby.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 21, 2016
One of my go to lunch spots when I am in the mood for salad and soup. Corner bakery don't disappoint. Ordered the chopped salad and cup of lemon chicken soup and all was excellent. They give you large size portions. My salad was huge and very filling. Price point is not bad for what you get as well, $9. I love the fact you can order online and when you get there it's waiting on the shelf for you to pick it up. No line, no wait during the downtown lunch rush will keep me coming back.

This is the Corner Bakery in the Willis. I like the sort of faux-outdoor cafe they have in the lobby.
This is an abbreviated version of the full Corner Bakerys everywhere else. Which means . . . no *starts sniffling* . . . NO REUBENS! They only have about a half dozen of each category on their menu. Still a lot to love, but if you are cravin' that Reuben . . . well, don't come here on that day.
I found a BBLT to love, another one of my preferred sandwiches, but I really wanted a Reuben. SO, I got an oatmeal raisin cookie to drown my no Reuben-havin' sorrows.
I just REALLY wanted a Reuben. But I still like this lunch option.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 11, 2015
I've come here only a few times. The baked goods are yummy and so is their cheddar soup. The staff were helpful and friendly, inside there are chair with the table running along the window. There are more seating options just outside in the lobby, which is okay as the long as the lobby isn't busy. This location is located inside of the Willis Tower.

I was craving some soup today but I also wanted something to fill me up so I decided to come down to Corner Bakery.
It was my first time there and the amount of time I took ordering my food showed it. I was that customer. Luckily it wasn't rush hour so I wasn't holding anyone up. The cashier, Stephanie, was also very helpful and patient with me.
I decided to go with the Sandwich and soup combo (just under $9). No complaints, everything tasted great.
The cashier asked me if it was my first time here and I said yes so she offered me a free cookie - Sweet! Literally.
I also didn't know that the meal came with a bag of chips so that was pretty cool too. Food was great. Service was great. I will be going back for sure to try other things!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 6, 2011
It's a Corner Bakery and you know what you like and don't like. I'm a fan of the DC Chix Salad Sandwich and their chips. This CB is on the ground floor of the Sears Tower. You can enter from the lobby or from the outside on Monroe.
Staff is helpful and sometimes friendly. The space is really intimate, almost claustrophobic, which is sometimes welcome. Pictures of the construction of the Sears Tower hang throughout, and the place attracts tourists and business people from the area.
Some UK businessmen were seated near me recently, discussing "Quids" and the like and cracked me up talking about Green Bay, Wisconsin. Example: "That's the home of the, er, Packers. They, er, won 'that thing' recently."
Gotta love it.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Liss P.Bakersfield, CA47104178Nov 28, 2014
Very cozy corner environment located directly across the river front from The Trump Hotel. Deliciously displayed sweets in cases and brightly displayed menu choices allow the diner to easily choose from the vast array of options from breakfast to dinner and anything from snacks to dessert and specialty coffee.
Very pleasant cashier Moryya, greeted us and took our order. William, one of the onsite managers delivered our meal. Overall experience 5 star for food, friendliness, promptness and professionalism.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Here for a week and literally ate breakfast here everyday. Its not because it was exceptionally good or anything...it was more about convenience than taste, but I must admit that I became addicted to their crisps and oatmeal. The almond topped cold oatmeal with the sugar topped toasted slice of nut bread with a hot cup of joe set me in the right direction. I highly doubt it was as healthy as I'd like to think it was, but it can't be worse than the breakfast burrito that I would have eaten had there been a taqueria nearby.
Avoid their breakfast scrambles...bland and watery.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 29, 2008
Good fast breakfast when you are staying in the Loop. Yeah, it's a chain, but it's not McDonalds. The oatmeal (Swedish?) kicks ass. Lots of apples and nuts and crunchy stuff. You will never look at oatmeal the same way again. I had a panini with ham and eggs, very good.
One word of warning, if you choose to eat outside at this location, the view maybe awesome (the new Trump tower being built, Tribune Tower, Wrigley Building) but the freakin' pigeons are watching your every move. It was like a Hitchcock movie. You maybe better off eating inside!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kristen D.Chicago, IL83371175Jan 17, 2016Updated review
Visited here twice in two days (don't judge me). Two stars bc I love corner bakery. Should otherwise be one.
Yesterday was here with Clark for sit down lunch. I received my panini and soup combo, but the tomato soup was cold. I'm sitting around the corner, how was the soup already cold? My sandwich wasn't melty either, which surprises me (again) because I'm literally sitting around the corner. (No puns intended.)
Today, I placed a group order online for it to be ready at 10:30. It's now 10:47 and I'm just leaving w my order...they made it while I sat and waited. They also missed my specification for one of our salads to not contain onions. If you're going to make that an option on your website, please pay attention to it. She offered to make another, but at that point I didn't have the time to wait another few minutes. Accuracy of the rest of the order is TBD.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Oct 13, 2015Previous reviewVisited here twice in two days (don't judge me). Two stars bc I love corner bakery. Update: I received a confirmation for my order at 8:55am (when I placed the order) and again at 10:35...when I arrived to pick the order up. Terrible.
