Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant- Virginia Beach

This was TOP TIER! We went to celebrate our birthdays and have absolutely no complaints. AND I'm gluten free. They provided me with my own menu AND gluten free bread was also brought to the table. Portions were large and the taste was amazing. The wine pairings were spot on.

We will definitely be back!

I was recently at the Lynnhaven Mall to get myself a shiny new iPhone and I needed to backup my phone before purchasing a new one. While I was waiting for the phone to back itself up, I decided to grab some lunch at Cooper's Hawk. I had heard great things and was excited to dine.

It's a beautiful restaurant with a very spacious reception area with a wine bar/counter. I am not much of a drinker but I'm sure my wino-friends would love it here.

My server was really nice and courteous. After she made some suggestions, I decided to go with her recommendation of a Crispy Fish Sandwich. This is a fried beer-battered Alaskan cod, with a slaw, smashed Avocado and a Sriracha mayo. I got to choose one side and again, I went with my server's recommendation and went with Betty's potatoes. The sandwich was interesting and I really enjoyed the smashed avocado on the sandwich, but I was on the fence about the slaw. Overall, the sandwich was tasty. Betty's potatoes was definitely a unique take and although I loved the flavors, the potatoes were on the cusp of being undercooked and I felt like it was too much bite. Probably another half minute to a minute would have done the job. I think the quality was there with both items. However, I felt it was a bit pricey for the dish. A sandwich with one side at a price tag of $18 seemed a bit steep, but prices seem to be going up these days everywhere.

If you love wine, you'd love this place. They do seem to put care into their dishes as I saw lots of great options. I look forward to going back and trying something new!

Another great experience at Cooper's Hawk! This place is wonderful. Just had my mom's birthday late lunch here yesterday. Everything was perfect! Try the gnocchi. It's so good.

I had dinner today at Cooper's Hawk located on the ring road at Lynnhaven Mall.

They were busy but I was able to score a great table in the Bar area right by the front window. The service was outstanding and we had a great experience while we were there.

I ordered a Chopped Salad and I enjoyed it very much. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious.

For dinner I ordered a Classic Cheeseburger with fries. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium temperature and the French Fries were piping hot.

If there was a complaint, I barely got a couple of bites into my salad when my burger came out. There ticket times were really fast, usually a very good thing. Next time I visit, I'll ask them to stagger putting in the hot food order.

Overall we had a great experience and I'm already planning my next visit.

We ordered take out at work and I got the Lunch portion of the gnocchi and butternut squash. It was AMAZING! I can't wait to go back and actually eat at the restaurant in the near future!

Cooper's Hawk is one of my fav restaurants in VA Beach. This particular night, the service was no different than what I'm use to.

My cousins and I sat in the bar area in a booth and the server was great. She gave us time to order and brought out 3 rounds of complimentary pretzel bread to accommodate a late comer to the party.

As wine club members, she offered us the sample of the wine(s) of the month. The grateful red and white wine and they were delicious and generous pours.

I decided to get a bottle of the white for the table as it was my favorite out of the two.

I ordered a light dinner. The Caesar salad and the Italian sausage and whipped burrata flatbread. Both were excellent and the flavors together were great. The pizza was baked to perfection and this might be a new favorite for me. The burrata was not overpowering and all the flavors came together nicely.

Football games were playing on the TV in the bar Area and the music choice was great.

I will be back!

***Wine Club***
There's different tiers for wine club membership. I used to be 2 bottles Variety holder which gets you 1 monthly wine tasting for 2. I find that the membership is a great deal if you dine often with bottles as the wines are pricier at the table (due to corking fee) as opposed to ordering bottles to-go. After a couple months of tasting majority of their wines, I switched down to 1 bottle Variety holder without the free monthly tasting for 2. I usually take my bottles to-go so this tier suits me better since i dont make it out to cooper monthly.

***Wine tasting***
I've been to a couple wineries & I can honestly say I truly enjoy Cooper's wine selection. We usually do the tasting before our dining reservation. If your table is ready but you're still at the bar, you can either let the hostess know or you can take the remaining 1 or 2 glasses you have left to your table. This is also a good chance to taste their truffles. The truffles are $4.99, but if you're doing the tasting they're only a dollar on top of your tasting tab ;) The only thing i hate about doing the tasting is that it's first come first serve & there seem to be a line- you just gotta grab a spot when u see one which can be frustrating during peak times :(


Overall, great place to catch up with friends and/or after work casual dinner. You can rsvp ahead on OpenTable or walk-in. The place offers great service and bread & butter LOL

Cooper's Hawk is one of my favorite restaurants in the area because of their extensive wine selection, amazing food and relaxed ambiance so when one of my girlfriends came to town and wanted great food and wine, I knew exactly where to go.

I absolutely love their wine selection but I'd never tried their sangrias so I chose a Sangria Flight that included Red, White, Peach and Raspberry sangria and they all tasted equally amazing! I decided to order the Crispy Brussels Sprouts and the Shrimp & Scallop Risotto which both came out pretty quickly. The Brussels Sprouts were delicious. I was a little hesitant because they included cashews and mint but I will probably be ordering them every time I dine in. The scallops tasted just as amazing. They were very fresh and cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, the risotto was a bit uncooked and I wasn't a fan of the corn and peas.

Overall, we definitely enjoyed our night! Our server was amazing! He constantly checked on us and was very helpful with the questions we had from the menu. I try to choose different food and drinks every time I visit so I will definitely be returning.

The food, the atmosphere, the wine. Everything is spot on at this restaurant. I highly recommend becoming a wine club member. The benefits are well worth the cost.

Food is consistently good . We have a membership and eat here and are never disappointed. Fave apps are the Drunken shrimp and Brussel Sprouts are literally the best in the world ! Fave dishes are the Chicken piccata but swap the grilled chicken for the Danas Parmesan Crusted chicken - thank me later. So, the wedge salad is very good .
