After shopping around a bit, we decided to use the same friendly movers (Convenient Lifestyles Moving) from our last move over 6 years ago. I wasn't sure if they were still around so I looked them up and sure enough they're still in business. Back then, the father/son duo of Derrick and Elliot handled the physical labor themselves as they helped us move 6 years ago. This time around, they had friendly employees handling our move. These guys were pretty fun to be around as they had great personalities as well as some funny jokes here and there. If they didn't like their jobs, we couldn't tell.
It started off with a simple call to their office on a Monday. Beverly, one of the owners, took my call and asked me a few simple questions to get a general idea of how much stuff was being moved. She actually remembered us from 6 years ago and was glad that we decided to come back to use their services. Beverly recommended using 3 guys and a 26ft truck to handle our move. We booked it for Friday at 11am. They had a small move scheduled right before us. On that Friday, they came to us on time just minutes after 11am.
Two of the guys were expert movers (you can tell) and the 3rd guy was on his first day on the job. He was closely supervised. First thing they did when they came in was survey all of the furniture to be moved which took only a couple of minutes. Then, they started the clock and went to work right away. 1st guy started disassembling the beds while the 2nd guy started moving the pieces. The 3rd guy stayed in the truck to load everything so that it all fit in. These guys were noticeably strong and fairly quick, but also handled our stuff with care. Most of our furniture was loaded within the first hour. The whole move took about 5.5 hours as we asked them to do a 2nd trip to gather most of the smaller things too. They worked really hard and we had a lot of stuff. Overall, we were so pleased with their performance that we bought them lunch and tipped them as well. I would say that Convenient Lifestyles Moving is everything you could ask for in a moving company with excellent customer service, unbeatable rates, and friendly and effective movers. I've used this company six times for different moves over the years. Never had any issues with them. Until today...
Update: I am disappointed in a move that occurred today. Despite me telling the manager the scope of the job, she only sent two men to do the work that required three. This ended up causing the move to take twice as long and instead of the move costing me $800 I was charged over $2000. This would not have been the case if three men were sent as they could have done the work quicker and more efficient. Deeply disappointed. Do not use this moving company!!! Our appointment was for 1 PM and the truck didn't show up until after 6 PM. The crew were nice and hardworking but the management, particularly the owner, was unsympathetic and offered excuses, the few times she picked up the phone! After 3 hours and no-show we thought they were not going to show and we freaked. Our house was sold and we had to be out. What were we going to do? Avoid this company at all costs even though they may be the cheapest.

Real time review: Customer Service: Have not selected a mover yet, but A+ so far for responsiveness and customer service.
It's a Sunday. I have to move out of state in less than 1 month, and I made multiple online inquiries today through Angie's list, BBB, move.org, consumeraffairs.com, etc.
Within minutes, Elliot called me personally to discuss next steps for an online application and inventory. I began the app; had multiple questions; called Elliot back, on a Sunday. He answered. He spent a fair amount of time answering my questions and discussing my concerns.

This company is a nightmare to deal with- Brandon Micheals was the person I dealt with in the beginning of the process. Moving cross country from Florida to California - I booked this move super early so I could get a good rate as well. Back in March. My move is currently in the process now. I had shown Brandon all the items, furniture and boxes I wanted to move multiple times to make sure it was within the limits of the amount I was paying- he reassured me it was . he saw every box I was going to move and informed me that I was pretty much within the range of what the costs covered- the total would be $3000.
The movers get to my place yesterday and tell me they need to charge me an additional $3000!! Because I have More boxes and pieces then expected! Where is the communication between Brandon and the movers?? I sent Numerous emails, texts, calls etc to keep Brandon posted on my items- if I knew it was going to be $3000 more I would have never booked this company. Also isn't it interesting how Brandon stopped answering my calls for the last 3 days as well. I feel like I was lied to and deceived. They just wanted to lock in my deposit, of over $1000 and tell me what I wanted to hear so I can book this company. I would also like to contact the owner of this company since noone seems to have any answers when you call the main # too. Such a shame how companies try to scam you these days. In Response to Miss Janet/ Musa's complaint, must of what said is incorrect. She could reach someone to speak to because while the crew was packing, the furniture she was on the phone with one of our representatives. Her complaint at that was that the crew told her she have to pay more money for her move. This is because she had more items then what was listed in the inventory. She was told that someone will get to the person in charge of her move and call her back. Unfortunately, we could not reach anyone from the third-party carrier because of the Jewish holiday. She was told that she will receive a call on Wednesday. On Wednesday he did speak with the trailer driver who told her that her furniture will be delivered on Monday Oct 7th. She was not happy with the delivery date and called back demanding that someone call the driver and have them deliver earlier. Miss Musa is moving from Saint Petersburg Florida To Anaheim California and was told that she do not have an exclusive truck for herself, therefore the carrier have to make stops, because it is a trailer and they have other customers furniture onboard. Most of the time it could take up to 21 days for delivery. Her furniture is just six days since the carrier pick up and she will have delivery on Monday. Janet promised to put bad reviews on every site she can find just because she cannot have way.

I've used Convenient Lifestyles for several moves -- moving contents of a large house into PODs and then into my new condo. They are reliable and the movers I've had took exceptional care to protect my furnishings and antiques. They are hard working, reliable and the stick to their quoted prices. The movers I've had were genuinely nice guys who went out of their way to make sure everything was placed exactly how and were I wanted it. Highly recommend them.

Used them to move to our home and sure enough now we are missing a box or two. We unpacked everything and are missing things. I called and asked if they had my box (which I recall seeing on the truck when they said they were finishing up) and they said they didn't have it. But missing an antique clock, our tv cables, black box, and Amazon fire stick. My husband and I know they have it. We unpacked everything! If they just made a mistake and forgot and returned things... But they didn't... Don't use them!

We are very sorry that you had problems finding one of the box with with important items. The problem was solved after your husband found the box in the back of his car with other items he moved himself. Moving can be very stressful.

When I ordered moving services, I asked for 3 men and the representative suggested and stated emphatically that I would have my move complete in the time that I needed with two men. That did not happen because the truck that they used was not large enough for all of my furniture. Instead they had to make two trips for my furniture. I was only moving 15 minutes away. And paid approximately 400 bucks!!

We are very sorry that you were unhappy with your move. You did request a crew of three, but when we gave you the rate for a crew of three and a 26' truck, you said you did not have much, and went for the lower rate with a crew of two and an 18' truck. The crew had to make another trip to complete the move of which is was discounted for 30 mins.

We hired this company to pack our Pods, and it was a complete nightmare! They packed the Pods so terribly that at least half of our stuff got damaged. The one mover named Brent spent his time begging us for things of ours that he wanted. It was really uncomfortable that he was always like "Are you gonna take that?" or "You're not gonna be able to fit that. Can I have that?" He did this the ENTIRE day(when he wasn't chatting on the phone). I would have been better off throwing my stuff away than spending all of this money to have my stuff damaged or rummaged through by this mover!
