Condurso's Garden Center & Farm Market

I am the grandson of the old owner that used to have the business up and running very well. My grandfather put all his pride and his life into that business for years and it was very painful to notice the comments on google maps when I went to go look at how it was doing. I used to always want to help my grandfather when I went to the garden center but my grandma always told me I can't see him because he was working and that was an everyday thing. He always used to work so hard and for me to see the business he worked and strived so hard for go down in flames like this and to see all these sad reviews pains me. I just want everyone to know (THERE ARE NO MORE CONDURSOS THERE ANYMORE.)
and that place is dragging the name through the mud and back.

They used to be my go-to place for vegetable plants. It has been getting sadder and sadder over the years. This year is the final straw. The quality of the plants are terrible. 90% of the plants died and/or did not bloom!

From now on I will be buying my veggie plants from Home Depot, Montville!

I agree - this place has some really bad people representing them at their front desk. I have had and personally seen some pretty bad customer service - although I will say at the same time had good customer service by the guys working the yards. Too bad it seems I have seen more negative than positive lately.

To Dianna N. who said "Maybe it's due to the area and the sort of spoiled customer...". LOL. Do you happen to work there? Do you get paid to troll ? Or are you not simply able to understand while you have had good experience there, others were not so lucky? Too bad you can't give a review without chucking insults - it really reduces your creditability.

Ripped me off. Ordered 6 bags of black cedar mulch. Got home, started mulching, when i opened the 4th bag it looked different - turns out they gave me 3 bags of black and 3 of dark brown. Not a huge mistake as packaging was identical and dark brown looks much like black. However, when I went to return the dark brown, they would only refund me for 2 out of the 3. The incompetent girl behind the counter said "sorry, we are a small business and cannot accept any open items" to which i asked "even when you are the ones who made the mistake?" I am a small business owner too and i would never treat my customers like this especially if it were my fault. Not a big deal as it was jut like $11 or so, but it is the principle of it. Also, customer in front of me complained that his propane tank did not feel full, and when same nitwit behind the counter felt it, she said "feels kind of full to me ... at least maybe 3/4 full". She refused to help him, and the guy was pretty disgusted and set off to find someone to top it off.

Will no longer do business at a place where it seems acceptable to rip your customers off.

Pretty great location to purchase a Christmas tree. First step is to hunt for a tree, claim it, pay for it, then drive your car up to load it and take it back to your house. Straightforward and efficient!

We have been here twice and could not be more pleased.

I really don't understand some of the negative reviews. Maybe it's due to the area and the sort of spoiled customer. Either way I think their prices, selection and customer service are great. Today we went for pumpkins and were very pleased with the selection. The staff working there were very friendly and made conversation .

It's a bit of a drive for us but one we will gladly make again. I highly suggest it!

Don't assume people are wearing masks inside. I've been here numerous times the past month and employees always scurry to put their masks on when people walk in. Some don't even care and are walking around with the mask hanging under their chin.... don't even get me started on that..

If you're going to own and operate a business, at least have the respect to protect your customers from something unknown.

Horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE customer service.

I originally called on the phone for a delivery of soil, rocks and compost. The guy on the phone seemed like he had no knowledge of the different varieties of top soil and compost. I simply wanted the best one and a recommendation. His suggestion come to the store and look at them myself.

Uh, if I wanted to goto the store, I wouldn't pay to get them delivered. Nevertheless, I foolishly went to the store.

I brought my wife and son. My wife was looking for a snake plant. After ten minutes of walking around lost someone finally asked if we needed help.

Meanwhile, everyone is standing at both checkouts doing NOTHING!.

Nope, sold the last one. No mention of when they may get more, do you want me to order you one, etc.

So, I go inside to try and place my order once again.
The girl at checkout was clueless and just started rambling some different items from her computer screen.

A young kid behind the counter kind of chimed in and simply stated he put some bags of soil outside.

Another guy (had to be the rude guy from the phone because I recognized his voice) gave me the same lazy response - they are all outside go look.

Uh, how about you actually act like you care - walk the customer outside and show them exactly what you have and what you recommend.

This is why I stick with my regular place in morristown. Way better customer service and knowledge.

I will gladly pay their $75 delivery fee over your $35 for the sake of principle and I feel confident in what they sell.

I wasn't sure whether it was worth the 1/2 hour drive to Montville to go to Condurso's for additional perennials for the backyard. My former landscape designer told about Condurso's and I thought that they probably had many of the same items other people did but for a lower price. I was mistaken, Simply put, Condurso's is worth the schlep.

They have a very large selection of perennials and annuals of all different types, which are continually replenished. I was primarily interested in hens & chicks, some edibles and creeping thyme. They had those along with other beautiful varieties of sage & lavender, coneflowers and more. All items are logically grouped together.

I didn't even look at their selection of trees and shrubs in the back. I was warned that you can spend hours there.

Check out was very efficient and they provide you with boxes and large sheets of plastic to prevent your car from getting messy.

Prices are comparable, if not better, to what you will find at large box stores but with greater variety and in better condition. Great hours too; they open early and stay open later than many other garden stores.

Shopping here can easily become an obsession so now I am somewhat pleased that they are a little out of the way...

Condurso's is one of the best around. They have a great selection of plants for spring and summer but also for fall. They always have the best assortment of pumpkins and gourds. We've never been disappointed with the quality or the selection.
