This place was so awesome!
I was just driving by and saw that the place was busy and had a great atmosphere with cozy, yet trendy bar/ Mexican restaurant feel.
My friends and I decided to go for dinner and drinks the next day and we were so impressed with the food, the service, and the vibes.
Firstly, everyone who works there is SO NICE. Maxwell is hilarious and has great recommendations. Everyone who helped serve us was so friendly and attentive. I would go there for the service and atmostphere alone.
But then the food...
The brisket tacos are stupid good and the shrimp with the lemon butter rice is so good I could eat it every day. And apparently they have an awesome happy hour on Tuesdays.
I'm so happy we stumbled across this little gem and will definitely be going more often.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 26, 2017
Trying too hard and a bit gimmicky (for example, the guacamole loco with crickets). We tried a few things: guacamole, queso, ceviche, tostaditos - and everything was quite forgettable.
Nothing was bad, but it also wasn't great and I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to eat here (or eat here even if in the area, given all the other options). No, it's not real Mexican food, but that didn't bother me so much as I can appreciate a good fusion concept (Red O or anything Rick Bayless does for example, work for me). It was more that the food was really just okay and they charge fusion (rather than traditional inexpensive Mexican) type prices but without successfully executing the fusion concept.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - 662393906Apr 4, 2017
What an awesome happy hour! We came for margaritas & were welcomed with a HUGE basket of complimentary chips & this amazing garlicky salsa! So good!
Also! A free shot with a check in!? Amen!
The margaritas has a sugar / salt / cinnamon rim! And we're very strong for a happy hour price!
Our server, Adam, was so AWESOME! Friendly & also an awesome server! He took such good care of us and very informative on the menu!
Will definitely be back!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jul 10, 2016
The energy of Cocina Condesa is vibrant and friendly. The entire staff makes you feel right at home! It helps that they serve delicious cocktails. We ordered a variety for the table and each one tasted more exciting than the former. This is definitely a hot spot for happy hour or grabbing drinks with your ladies - with a side of guac please!
If I could write a review for customer service alone this place would get 5 STARS!!! Unfortunately, this is also a food platform, so minus two stars because the food wasn't that great.
I'd skip out on feasting here. The steak we ordered was too well done. I wish they'd ask us how we'd like it prepared. I ordered the pescado tacos and found that my fish was very dry. Biting into the pieces felt more like over-fried tofu, not digging it. The greatest dissatisfaction was with the tortillas. What were they made of?! Please find a yummier alternative!
I guess I'd be open to giving this place another chance.

Hi Sarin,
Our servers have a passion for making guests feel welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for noticing. However, it sounds like we were off the mark with your meal. Usually, our food is one of the most touted aspects of our business. I invite you to give us another shot, as your experience wasn't what it could have been, and I'd like to correct that.
Thank you. - Aug 29, 2016
FREE TEQUILA SHOT WHEN CHECKED IN! Get yours!
Loud atmosphere and great happy hour. Food was delicious. Our waiters were prompt and funny. Our last shot we took with him and it was on the house!
We ordered an abundance of food:
Cheese quesadilla for the kids (came with rice and beans)
Shrimp and rice dish
Street corn
Shrimp tacos
Short rib
Brisket taquitos
Nachos
The meat in every dish was remarkably tender and ripped apart so easily. The shrimp tacos could have used more aioli sauce or something but it was still good. The beans were a little lighter than regular refried beans. The Shrimp and rice dish was super yummy and the shrimp wasn't dry at all. The street corn was juicy and sweet!
Would definitely love to come back here and enjoy their happy hour longer. Nonetheless, the food is worth every penny! Enjoy your free shot and let the good times roll!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 14, 2016
We had a super rockin experience here tonight. It was my first time venturing to Cocina Condesa and I am very impressed!
I have to start with our waiter, Adam. I can't say enough about how great his service was, his recommendations for both drinks and food for me were spot on, and his overall attitude was just so great. He was so nice and attentive, even on a very busy night. Best waiter in the valley?! I think so!
Now on to the drinks and food-
I give an A to my drink the Suavecito. It is basically like an alcoholic cucumber spa water and it is refreshing and delicious! The Bronco was equally delicious.
We got the ceviche and this was fresh and limey just how I like it. Lastly our entree was the Carne Asada plate. I really liked the flavor of the steak, it was cooked just right and was served with small bowls of rice and beans and potatoes. A good amount of food.
I tasted the corn too, I would get this again for sure.
We also had the brownie and flan for dessert. Both equally delish! Shout out to the manager who gave us a free dessert! Your super service is beyond Sir and I thank you for that.
The decor is cool, rustic with cool pics on the walls. It is loud in there but it just makes for a fun atmosphere.
Tips: check in and get a tequila shot!
Valet is $6.50.
I can't wait to come back for Happy Hour!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 37183651Jun 1, 2016
Tequila anyone? You get a free tequila shot if you check in and it's REALLY good! I was shocked. Thank you, Rodrigo!
The chips and salsa were so tasty! Very fresh. I had the carnitas tacos, and they were good for $8. Service was excellent. Food came out fast. I wish they had parking... But... Par for the course.
I'd definitely recommend the place for lunch or happy hour. :)Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Dec 10, 2015
We came here during happy hour to see what they had to offer. Have to say, their HH menu wasn't that bad at all. Happy Hour is from 3-630 daily.
PARKING: They offer valet or street parking which can be a pain to find.
SERVICE : Can need a little work. Our waitress was disappear time to time. We had to look her or flag her down many times. (Note) The restaurant wasn't busy at the time.
FOOD: The food in the other hand were good. Their HH dishes were big enough to share, and some of the dish came with rice and beans as a filler. Here were the dish we ordered.
Sopes
Mollete
Cheese Enchilada( came with rice and beans )
Carnitas Tacos (came with rice and beans )
Street Corn (off the HH menu at $7 for a small head of corn) It was good, but definitely better of getting another drink of the HH menu.
The best part of the meal was their HH drinks. They were all
fantastic.
Overall I would love to give them more stars, but the service was just not great at all.Helpful 70Thanks 0Love this 66Oh no 0Business owner information

We've been holding off trying this place until last night. The location is pretty good. Parking is a challenge, so we used their valet. We were acknowledged and seated quickly by the hostess at the door. Ambience and interior design looked great. They have a great looking bar with seating and big screen TV's, indoor seating that can accommodate large groups. They also have outdoor heated seating that overlooks Ventura Bl.
Our server was awesome. He was busy, but had a great attitude. I ordered a Blue Moon, the chocolate Mole Enchiladas that comes with a side of rice and beans. My girl ordered the shrimp tacos. The enchiladas were not good at allHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 4123887467Jan 3, 2016
I'm always looking for good brunch spots in the valley and after finding out about Cocina Condesa through their liking of my photos on Instagram, I checked out their (visual) menu. WOW. Everything looked absolutely delicious and I was hooked. I finally visited their spot today and expected it to be packed, but luckily it wasn't and we were seated immediately. Our server, Barrett, and the staff of runners were superb. Extremely friendly, helpful and on point with everything.
They had a variety of options for brunch, but I was already hooked on their pancakes after seeing a picture of it on IG. The "Mayan chocolate pancakes" are composed of three sizable, thin pancakes topped with platanos fritos and sprinkled with some powdered sugar and a cinnamon-chocolate mix. The syrup that you drizzle on your flapjacks is made of piloncillo (solid whole cane sugar). This entire combo was one of the best pancakes that I've had in a long while.
I also ordered a side of hash browns. I liked these as well because they add some finely chopped peppers in the mix to give it a kick of heat. As it was brunch, I paired my meal with a brunch cocktail - my drink of choice is usually bottomless mimosas, which they offered but I wanted to try something new - and it was called "Abajo de la playa". A rum-based drink with coconut and pineapple. Very reminiscent of a piña colada but without a lot of the added sweetness and sans blending.
Kudos to you Cocina Condesa. Thank you for making this a memorable and favorable experience. I will definitely be coming back for brunch and to try your Margarita Mondays, Taco Tuesdays, any day really.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
