Claim Jumper

Claim Jumper is a decent chain restaurant. the prices are reasonable and the portions are large. On a recent visit I attended a company holiday party in their "patio room". Myself, and 18 or so fellow employees and their spouses were happy with our dining experience.

The service was good. We only had one waiter for most of the time and he did a great job making sure the drinks were replenished and the appetizers were good. Once the meals started coming out, he had another gentleman giving him a hand who was just as nice and immediately took care of a few minor issues.

The food, in my opinion is mediocre. Most of us ordered steaks. While others touted that it was the best steak they'd had in a long time, mine was dry and flavorless. If it wasn't for the au jus that was served with the steak, I wouldn't have even eaten half of it. A few of us had filets and a few had sirloins and you really couldn't tell the difference between them. At least four of them near me were over cooked.
Back to the appetizers. We ordered a few of the of the platters which had wings, mozzarella sticks, onion rings and potato skins. The mozzarella sticks and wings were decent but the onion rings and potato skins were really greasy. I took a bite of one of the potato skins and got a mouthful of grease.
Deserts were pretty good. I ordered the pumpkin cheesecake. Others ordered the mother lode cake and the carrot cake, and were pleased with them.

Excellent food and service. Our server's name was "Sierra" I think? I don't exactly remember but she was working the afternoon of Sunday August 7th.
I had the fried chicken and husband had the ribeye. We got pineapple/coconut frozen drinks, and dessert to go..a slice of the huge chocolate cake and carrot cake. Food was scrumptious and flavorful.
Our server was friendly and knowledgeable.
Claim jumper has always been a favorite.
I do wish they would bring back the cheese bread loafs.

Came here to eat last weekend afternoon and we were seated quickly as it was not that busy.

Our server was awesome, she made sure we always had everything that we needed and we were happy with our order.

The restaurant was quiet and clean inside.

While the experience was amazing, the food lacked flavor all over. The Brussels were burnt, my steak had zero flavor and the Mac n cheese just wasn't that great. The appetizer itself was good and we all enjoyed a little bit of that. It is what it is, maybe a bad day in the kitchen?

I would still recommend Claim Jumper on the service we had alone.

I will start by saying, my 12 year old son thinks this place has the best burger in town! This was his chosen place for his birthday. However, they charged us for his cake! We told them it was his birthday, they did not ask us what we wanted for dessert or anything - brings him cake - then charges! Like whaaaaat? Weird, lol. I dont normally go out for my birthday, but aren't birthday desserts complimentary?

Service was good throughout as far as hostess & waitress. Getting drinks was very slow & kitchen was kinda slow as well.

I got the salmon Oscar which was supposedly a customer fave. It was okay. Kinda bland. But the Brussel sprouts were yum!!!

My husband got the lobster BLT. He was extremely disappointed. He was expecting it to look like the menu pic with big chunks of lobster. He said it was mainly mayo with some bacon & lobster pieces. He said it was the worst sandwich he's ever had, & I have never heard him say that.

My son loved his plain cheeseburger- haha! Perhaps he's just easier than us!

Note: They do have military discount, but not on alcohol.

Lunch with a friend, wanted salad so good place to go. Not busy for a Saturday so got seated right away.
Friendly staff took our orders and brought waters.
Started with the lemon zucchini appetizer to share. Wow, came fast was hot and crispy with great dipping sauce!
Salads came soon after, friend got the wedge salad with extra dressing on the side. It was half a head cut in half with a ton of fixings!
My salad was huge also, wish they served half for lunch, way too much to eat but I tackled it and ate most of the goodies on top which included chicken, avocado, hard boiled egg and bacon. Lots of blue cheese crumbles but I enjoyed the dressing better. Got extra as the lettuce was tossed but no dressing for the top of the salad.
The cheese bread looked good but doing keto so passed on it.
All and all good lunch fair prices!

We came here again for pick up. This last time I forgot to check-in. Claim Jumper has always been known for its large portions. However, it didn't seem as the portions were as large as I remember.

I did get the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. The meatloaf is to die for and the potatoes are so creamy and tasty. Plus we got a slice of the huge tower of chocolate cake. It wasn't as good as I remember but it was super yummy. My son especially liked it.

We called in our order and it didn't take long for our order to be ready. It was quick and easy. In and out with hot food. The server was cordial and kind. It's always hard to tell if anyone is smiling behind their mask.

Good food and kind take-out personnel. What more can you ask for?

Good lunch yesterday! My wife enjoyed her usual, the grilled salmon. Her mother enjoyed the BBQ ribs. The half rack was an impressive portion too. Service was attentive and friendly.

Things have improved slightly. The lemon zuchinni sticks are still 100%. Pot Pie still solid.

My burger $16.79 had excess char and seemed to need some seasoning. This could be from a unkept flat top, or sitting too long on the flat top. If it's charbroil, less cook time needed. Wasn't feeling it was even worth the price point, two slices of cheese were not melted so it looked like a hot mess may have been going on in the kitchen. Need more work on the patty, could be supplier, prep method, etc.

Friend had fish and chips, he said it was ok, but looked like it was over-fried.

The mini shoestring fries are a miss, I would suggest another vendor. Your results may vary.

Still not serving the comp epic bread before the apps, so I guess corporate axed that permanently since it's been absent since March 2020.

The restaurant itself has aged well. The decor and furnishings are in great shape.
The food for the most part is great. I was a bit disappointed in the burgers though. What we were served was easily something that could be served at Denny's or Applebee's for $5 or $6 less. Basic ingredients, taste, and presentation.
The value seems to have changed. 20 years ago it was the portion size that set CJ apart from say Marie Callander or Outback, now there is nothing impressive about it. The pot pie was just average size. Tasty, but basic. The meatloaf dinner was the same, average and just ok.
For me this has morphed into a Cheesecake Factory or BJ's, that is to say decent food for a just ok price and a bit of atmosphere.

In the area for spring break, and had a craving for Claim Jumper. And also being from California, I'm so used to eating outdoors. This was a very different experience eating indoors at a restaurant in well over a year.

We arrived and were immediately seated. Plenty of seating indoors, and the place is so big that you don't even see other tables seated. That's an A+ on physical distancing.

Wait staff came by quickly and took our drink and food orders. In about 20 minutes, everything came out freshly cooked and hot. Throughout dinner, the staff checked in on us and made sure we were good. That's an A+ on service.

We had a variety of food but one of the common elements we had was the rice pilaf. This in particular was less than stellar. It tasted like Uncle Ben's boxed rice and was very hard, almost like it was not cooked. Some rice grains we're hard like little pebbles. Needless to say, that wasn't edible. Everything else - steaks and chicken - was cooked wonderfully. Overall it's a B on food. Yes, a solid letter grade drop because of the rice.

Still would come back in the future but not ordering the pilaf anymore.
