I won't lie - I was super, duper excited to learn that one of the 11 wineries in South Carolina was so close to Greenville. I had a day set aside to check out some local wineries, and this place was first on my list. It is about a 20-25 minute drive from Greenville (depending, of course, on which part of town you live).
You can try a few different types of wines for free, or for a mere $5 you can have a taste of all of them. They had 16 wines at the time, so I was definitely feeling quite happy by the time I left. My favorite thing about this place: they have some absolutely FUN wines for great prices!!
Their white, blush, and red wines are all pretty fruity. They have four wines they offer that are made from 100% South Carolina-grown ingredients (a Carlos Muscadine, Carlos and Peach blend, a Noble Muscadine, and Blackberry and Muscadine blend). Their Pineapple Riesling was fantastic, with plenty of pineapple flavor and not overly sweet. This is a refreshing summer wine. Their Carolina Charm is a sweet-tea-infused wine and was delightful as well. It was a little sweeter than the Riesling, but I am pretty sure it would be good for porch sipping. Their Upstate Blush was my favorite of all - a mildly sweet, very fruity pink wine. It went down so smoothly, you would swear you were only drinking juice that had a belly-warming capacity. As for the reds, the Downtown Red was a great Malbec, with such a smooth taste and that wonderfully dry finish. The most interesting wine I drank there was definitely the Coffee Delight. It has a mild wine flavor infused with coffee extract, but more of a port-style (the alcohol content was significantly higher than their usual wines). I imagine it would be great mixed with coffee, or maybe for drinking late at night when you want coffee but not the caffeine. The wine prices ranged from $10-15, so they were quite reasonable and quite delicious. Most of them may not have been "traditional" wines, but they were definitely fun sipping wines.
Our visit also included a host of information from the owner, who gave us ideas of other wineries to check out in South Carolina and other local attractions. She was so wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable. She also helps to promote the other South Carolina wineries.
Overall, my friend and I had an amazing experience here. I will definitely be coming back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 19382378Feb 4, 2024
This place is the perfect addition to Greenville!
City Scape offers a luxe wine tasting and vineyard experience. The venue is very family friendly as there is a ton of land and farm animals.
If you're visiting for a tasting, you'll have a personal waiter serving you and telling you about the wines: you'll get try the reds, whites, rosés, and the liquid desserts (similar to port). You're given a sheet to rate your favorite wines and as part of the tasting you get to keep the wine glass.
As part of the tasting, my group ordered a charcuterie board with plenty of goodies from local businesses. Occasionally they will also have food trucks come out if you're on the hungrier side.
There is both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can visit during any season!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 7, 2024
Lovely winery for lunch and bingo game. It was such a surprise that they had bingo today while we sipped our favorite wines with friends. We had their pimento cheese sliders and tomato basil soup which were delicious. Julia and her entire staff were so warm and welcoming. It's a beautiful place to relax, have some wine, hors d'oeuvres and just chill out and enjoy the scenery. Looking forward to bringing more friends to this winery.

We love CityScape! They do great wine tastings, have an awesome new facility that is so spacious and beautiful, and some good snacks like charcuterie etc. They frequently do cool special events if you follow them on social media they post about them! They have some great wines and actually grow their grapes like a true winery which isn't very common in this area. Some of the wines are sweet for my taste bc I like dryer wines -- but they do have some options that I enjoy and if you're from the south you know that the grapes that grow around here are primarily muscadine and usually if it's local wine it's sugary sweet - but they have some options that aren't like that which is great! Of course if you do like sweet wines they have a lot of options for that too. Great local winery and always good service.

Another fabulous afternoon of lunch and wine tasting! Julia led our friends thru all the current wines and they loved and took some home!! Our lunches were absolutely wonderful!! Personally had the chicken Caesar wrap and it went perfectly with the Pinot Grigio!! An extremely chill afternoon on one of the first hot days here in South Carolina! Don't sleep on this great place!

A lot of us remember tastings in the small building, then sitting in the vines while the new building was being built. The amount of work, worry and $$ is so worth it! We enjoyed the pasta bar, salad bar, dessert station with excellent music-who could argue That's Amore being played?! An extremely relaxed evening seeing Josh, Deb, Carl, Jane and Silas circulate amongst the guests was wonderful! Our glasses we're constantly being refilled and looking forward to new offerings in the winery! Good job and well done to everyone involved!
Jan 21, 2018Previous reviewThis is our nearby winery. We love the extremely peaceful atmosphere and Pinot walking the vines in search of morsels to eat! We had an amazing experience working the vineyard during the TOTAL eclipse and were in awe of the beauty of the vineyard and how great all the people attending and working were during this monumental occurrence! They grow local vines( moscato/ muscadine) and import ( mostly from the Finger Lakes) other grapes. Josh had an amazing palate and the wines are the proof! You would Be missing a great relaxing afternoon if you don't go and visit. They now do weddings and special events so don't sit on the bench, get thee to Cityscape!

This was such a fun experience! We got to try 8 wines with our experience and got a free wine glass to keep. All of the wines were fantastic and w loved the recommendations given to us by our server. My favorite was the coffee port, which I definitely would have again! Super nice day trip!

Beware! This business holds $50 on your card for $17 tab, going on 4 days! Oh and poor quality wine! My bank cleared the $17 tab yet $50 tied up pending. Customarily $.02 held for running a tab.

An amazing experience. We have driven past their sign dozens of times but never thought to look them up. We ended up booking a reservation yesterday for 1:30 since they had availability, when we showed up we were immediately amazed with how gorgeous the whole property is. The whole layout of the winery is just gorgeous. Service was really warm and welcoming, she explained everything to us after I told her we had never done a wine tasting before. The tasting also comes with bread and Happy Cow Farm butter, which I already LOVE. We also got a burrata appetizer which was excellent. Overall this place felt very Napa Valley vibes, and I highly enjoyed it. Their pig, Pinot is so adorable, I recommend buying him a treat and seeing him yourself after your done, mind your fingers!!!

Went with coworkers on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Every wine we tried was wonderful and service was great at the bar and at our table out on the back balcony. Two food trucks there that day so we had pizza and cookies as well. Definitely recommend-the new building is beautiful inside and out.

Very nice excursion... The winery is a nice pleasant place to visit. Friendly folks. We had their Charcuterie board and thought it was quite good with a lot of local items on it, including some from Happy Cow which is right down the road and is worth a stop while you are in the area.
We did the tasting and since there were two of us we were able to pick one of each in the two instances where they offered a choice of two different wines.
The wines were good, not up to say NAPA standards, but great for SC. They were in general a bit sweeter than our taste preferences, but for those who like sweeter wines this may be delightful. They had a few where they added fruits like blackberry. I'm not a fan of adding fruit to wine, but these were done well, if that something you are interested in. Not to sound like I was disappointed in them all... we did pick up a few bottles of their Green Apple Gewurz, Carolina Morning which has peaches, and their Urban Red, which if I remember correctly was a Cab/Merlot blend. Honestly the Urban Red was quite nice and was really the only wine that I would recommend... Again, to be clear, this is just our palate and others may prefer sweater wines.
In case you are wondering what we will do with four bottles of relatively sweet white wine. A bit of ice and some tequila will transform then into a cool refreshing drink for use out on the lake or boat dock this summer.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anna K.Melrose, FL21143Oct 26, 2023
The establishment is a mixture of elegance and comfort. I ordered the 8 glass sampling which came with warm bread and butter. They did not disappoint. I even got to keep the glass. There's also a small menu for ordering food. The service was divine. They were very knowledgeable in the wines AND super friendly. Made me feel as if I was a family member.
