Wren is the best and sweetest hair lady. I walked in at 3 pm (not realizing their walk-in hours close at 4 pm) and asked if she could do me the kindest favor: cutting my dear dreads after over 6 years with them.

First she couldn't believe that I wanted them gone- not short, but gone. She asked many times if I was sure I wanted to cut them and I said yes. She said she had someone coming in within the hour but that she would start me anyways.

Wren was gentle and worked with me to get the hair that I wanted. We talked and she even said she felt like she was doing something wrong by cutting them, I assured her she wasn't.

Cut, washed, buzzed, clipped, an hour later I was free. She did an amazing job with my hair and I would highly recommend her to anyone I know. She only charged me $20 even considering how long my hair was. A cozy little place, don't mind the partial "unfinished" look of the salon, they are in the process of fixing it up.

So Chad ended up being kinda weird, and didn't stick around long, but now I frequently see Jesse (the owner). I have to tell you, she is basically part of the family now. She cuts my wife's hair as well, and knows everything going on in our lives. She is great, doesn't try to push you to do something new (I have had stylists that have done that in the past), or push product on you to buy, she just does whatever you want while making slight suggestions here and there.

They did have to raise the prices, and she did move to only taking appointments, but she has other hairdressers on staff and they are typically available to take walk ins when able to.

Great local business that I highly suggest that everyone supports!

I'm very picky with who I let touch my hair.

I decided I wanted bangs (quite a bold move for someone who's picky) after just moving to the area. It was Halloween day, I figured I'd just see if they had anyone available and they did!

I ended up getting sat down with Maddy- she gave me bangs and trimmed my hair. She is super sweet. Very funny. Knows what she's doing.

I lagged going back, but I went back a few days ago and yesterday to again have Maddy play with my hair. She offered her opinions, gave tips/advice. Very open to answering questions and didn't seem to get bothered, which is an A + in my book.

Cuts are around 20 bucks (may differ per stylist) but I have been happy leaving the 3 times I've gone there so far and I swear however Maddy cuts my hair - somehow is magically grows super fast and I'm a-okay with that!

I called ahead to see if someone could fit me in today. Maddie was available and was very friendly and proficient in giving my hair a much needed trim.

My boyfriend took my son here for a haircut and the owner of the shop cut my son's hair. She did such a horrible job we had to take my son some where else to get his hair recut. And on top of that she cut my son three times behind his ears. We will never be returning to this horrible place.

Every 3 to 4 weeks I visit the Pioneer Village in downtown GV & hit up CiCi's .

Tiffany has cut my hair for the past 5 years + ... All without a complaint. She's great.

Grass Valley / Nevada City is full of complete shit-heads cutting / styling hair. But I don't find this place to be like that at all -- very nice experience each time.

Good spot for Men, Woman and children.....

I'm writing a new review as they've recently had some major changes.

The owner became busy and sold the business to a friend, who was the only one working there at the time I came in. It seems they have had bad luck with the employees that have been coming through, so I recommend that you don't get attached to any one employee here.

While the new owner isn't bad, I think she went just a little bit chop-happy when she was cutting the top of my hair (disconnected undercut). Regardless, I was happy with the result, especially considering that it was only $15.

As a side note, the newly renovated space, while not finished, looks great!

Wonderful place! I've been going here practically since it opened. Highly accommodating to walk-ins. Everyone who works there is great at their job and always provides fun conversations. My personal favorite is Paul, the newest addition to the business. He's a fantastic barber and has been able to cut my hair exactly how I want it. Absolutely no complaints here.

Great hair cut! The new owner is Great! Jessie is making some updates and upgrades to the place. The location is easy in easy out. The best for me is no appt necessary. 15 bucks for a men's hair cut is awesome.

Will recommend to all my friends to get in there.

Went in for a $15 men's cut on a Sunday. Friendly, comfortable service and a great basic cut. Will return!

Jessie does a good haircut. She's upped her price to 20. She hasn't gotten back to me for several hours after I left a message on the machine.
