This place has gone downhill for sure!!
It's pretty bad when one of the servers tells you to never visit Mondays-Wednesdays. Just my luck, because it's a Tuesday.
1. The food is sub-par.
2. Don't bother ordering grilled chicken because they never have it.
3. Same goes for the hummus.
4. Same goes for the wings.
Who knows what other menu items were not available.
Ordered hummus platter... kids meals came out. No hummus platter. Then was told they were out of hummus!
So I ordered the new Barbie salad with grilled chicken, specifically stating that "I cannot have the crunchy, fried chicken"
Got the salad and guess what!? Freakin crunchy, fried chicken.
Sent it back and then was told they had no grilled chicken! Server said she'd take it off the bill.
So, I chose to just have the salad sans chicken and the tomatoes tasted like they were at the bottom of the bucket for 28 days. Effing disgusting! Nothing like eating in the dark and biting into something rancid.
Kids food was was roach coach quality. IYKYK
I get it, it's summer... but I also need to be able to have feeling in my limbs. The AC is set to -30
Every single chair is either ripped, has big holes in them with foam remnants on the seat, has a broken arm, no arm, or doesn't sit up/recline.
Got my bill and that freakin Barbie salad was on there!
Server took care of it for me.
... and would I like dessert!? Um, yes.. just not from here. Eff that!
Are there no qualified managers working there? Wth!?
Take care of your servers as they're the ones getting the brunt of your mismanagement of this place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 2, 2014Previous reviewThanks, Yelp! My last check-in at Chunky's I got free popcorn! See, Yelping does pay off!
The hummus platter with veggies and grilled flatbread is so good. The hummus is a little bland (although homemade), so I request lemon wedges with mine. The fresh lemon juice does wonders!
We got a half carafe of Sangria. Seriously one of the best (red) Sangrias I've had. It was served in a pitcher (like you'd get beer or soda in), not a half carafe, so I was amazed at the size. It's a lot!! And for about $8, you can't beat it!
The servers are usually on top of things, but I understand it gets busy at times and they get slammed with parties and stuff, so I don't hold it against them. They're doing their best. - Feb 24, 2023Updated review10 check-ins
I don't know what's going on with this location lately, but my main dishes been coming out very late. Back when I first started watching movies here, I'd go for this amazing waffle fries with miscellaneous toppings, but they nixed that. So now, I would order High Noon nachos followed by a main dish. Nov 2022, my burger came out half way through the movie (The Menu). Last week, went to see 80 for Brady on a Tuesday with only a handful filled theater and my sandwich came out with 30 mins left to the movie. To top it off, I decided to live off my nachos and asked for more salsa/sour cream...never saw it or the server that brings the food out the rest of the night. Pretty disappointing since I've grown to like seeing most movies at Chunky's.

What I love about it is that it's VERY cheap for admission and the food isn't that bad either. You can also order tickets online and rack up points. Not as effective as Showcase's or AMC's rewards, but to each their own. My preference is the waffle fries with bacon bits. Love it so much and goes oh so well with my favorite sauce, ketchup! There's also a huge amount of fries that I usually end up taking some home. My favorite beer is the Only Way to IPA, it's so smooth, almost like drinking water. Also, love how it's 22 oz for $7.
As for the seating, it's pretty much a car seat recliner. Seating is also a tad awkward because you have to turn to eat your food, but look straight to watch a movie. Either way, this is my 2nd choice in terms of theaters I attend and will be for the foreseeable future. - Chantee L.Attleboro, MA6117552Sep 19, 2023
Honestly, this place might be a little bit outdated but I keep on coming back every time. There's no crowd, no lines, food is pretty decent for the price and definitely more options than your average movie theater.

This place sucks, not only for work, but as a business all together. Know one takes their job seriously, its run horribly, there's always favoritis, we all make shit money and the place is disgusting, between bugs and mice. Don't work here and DEFINITELY do not take your children here the place is filthy, you probably have a year and a half moldy pizza in your chair

Worst experience at a movie theater I have ever had.
We arrive at the theater and there are no handicap buttons for the doors. My nurse had to struggle to help me in, while staff and other customers just watched. But honestly, we are pretty used to that. However when we talked into theater 3 it was an absolute mad house. I am an avid movie goer and I was shocked. The entire theater was mobbed with children everywhere. Our assigned table had pizza all over it and there was no room to get my wheelchair in. We could barely even turn around to go back into the hobby. Kids and parents were just standing and walking around. The waitresses were visibly and audibly stressed. We were even running late and you couldn't even hear the previews on the screen because the children were so loud. So after needing to take a loop around the entire area just to turn around, we finally went back into the lobby and I cried to the customer service person while he just stared at me in silence. And later my nurse told me he rolled his eyes at her. We asked about a later showing and he said he had no idea if another birthday party was scheduled. And as someone who worked as a hostess for 5 years, that's a lie. I have had birthdays at chunky's before and you need to schedule that ahead of time.
I am an avid marvel movie watcher, and prefer to see movies the day it comes out or a late show the night before. So yes I am aware that it was going to be busy. But again, busy is one thing, not being able to even get to my assigned table was another thing.
We drove an hour to get here and was treated like they really didn't give a shit about us.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stars Beauty b.NH, NH5108Apr 9, 2022
The concept of the theater is great. Unfortunately my last too visits have been a disaster.
We arrived 20 mins before the movie started and our assigned seats were taken. We had to ask to sit else-were.
The server forgets the food we ordered and drinks. Then when the first plate finally gets to us an hour later, the server spills the Mozzarella sticks on the table saids sorry, walks away and never replaced them.
I stayed collective and enjoyed the movie. I finally told them to cancel my entire order because the movie was ending and my drinks never arrived. Complete disaster.
Always remember to stay collective and take a deep breath! Good movie though!

Comfortable, fun with or without kids. Get snacks delivered right to your table. Seats are really comfy, old auto seats

Chunky's was one of my favorite places growing up. Sad to see the place go downhill. Took my family here to watch Indiana Jones. The theater was filthy, the employees are overworked, my father's food was burned, and they kept us out of the theater until 5-10 minutes after the film started. As someone who used to be a regular, do not come here.

It was really a nice place dinner and a movie saw sing 2 chairs where comfortable sound was clear screen was big and wide. Had a Kevin Bacon cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato pickle on the side was fairly good I was surprised that it was that good. Nacho's where yummy also cheese was melted just right fresh tomato and lettuce and salsa on top sour cream was the kicker. Overall I must say everything was very good. The service was also very good the waitress's and waiters were very polite just a good night out dinner and a movie that won't break the bank....

I normally go to the one in Nashua so this was a change of pace. The menu had the same food options but I didnt see where there were bar drinks. The theaters seem larger her as well and the seating is different.
Where I sat there was an idle light that was right in my face I had to block it with a chair.
I'm still a huge fan of Chunky's and what this proved is that no matter which one you go to it's still great.
I will however stick to the one in Nashua. It's what I know. LolHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
