Not sure why it says it's closed when I went there earlier in October. So I wanted to try a local place that had green hatch chilies infused in their menu and thanks to trusty old Yelp I found this place.
This place is kinda like a good court where they are several restaurants in the lot and there are benches in and outside of some of the stores. Getting there and out was a little tricky to me since I never been before. One street is one way so pay attention to the street signs, once there I parked and was easy to find the order window.
I went in looking for anything hatch chilies and I found plenty of options. I opted for a hot dog (since that's what they are known for) and I wanted to try a bowl of soup and went with the cream green chilies soup. I asked the server what the most popular soup was and he responded with the chicken noodle soup with hatch chilies. I knew if I got that soup I would get sleepy. I had the creamy soup and could only finish half because I was so full of the hot dog. I ended up taking it home and finished the soup for dinner.
The hot dog was smoother is sauce and I loved it! I had to eat the hot dog with a knife and fork because I would get my hands full of cheese. The homemade chips were nice and crisp and well seasoned. I went there on a Saturday around noon and the place seems to be kinda slow but as I was leaving a local pet adoption agency was coming in to set up for an adoption event.
I am glad I found this place and next time I am back in ABQ I will try that chicken noodle soup with chilies in it.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 4, 2018
Split the 505 Breakfast Burrito and Southwestern Breakfast Sandwich with a friend. My favorite was the breakfast sandwich, the roll is homemade and the avocado was not brown, nor yellow, but a bright green. PERFECTION. The sandwich also included green chile and pepper jack cheese. There was the option to add bacon, carne adovada, or sausage for an additional charge but I chose to keep it vegetarian.
It came with roasted potatoes on the side and they were crispy but a little dry on this occasion. Although they have great breakfast options, they do not have breakfast beverages like coffee or orange juice. They are available at a coffee shop across the way.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 2, 2019
We love Chumly's food! The ribbon fries are EVERYTHING! We get them without the red chile seasoning. We also love the sandwiches. The French dip is the best thing we have ever eaten and the first meal we have ever ordered as the family where each of us like it exactly as prepared! The red chile au jus is heavenly!
The service in person is great. But they will not answer the phone. Ever!!!! As someone who is handicapped, this is extremely frustrating when I'm trying to coordinate with a caregiver.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 16, 2019
Best service around! Most delicious green Chile chicken soup ever. The brats are fabulous. And Robin is the best!!!! A thousand kudos to her, the food is good, but it's GREAT when Robins there! Try their ice tea is has a delicious refreshing flavor.

I had a similar experience to Rosanne L. vv
Food was 2-3 stars on average and the cashier was very friendly and made helpful suggestions.
FOOD
Corn + crawfish chowder delicious! 10/10 would get again. I would love to swim in this! Flavorful profile was great and they had at least 15 bits of crawfish if not more!
Now for the rest...
Hatch chile dog 3/10 would not get again. It was too bready and pricy for the quality. If I think I can make it just as good then I wouldn't go out and buy it. This is one of those times. You can just find some red sauce, cheese and chili+ chopped onions and throw it on top. The hot dog itself was not spectacular.
Pigs in blanket+chips combo 3/10
Chips were good after three of them I started chugging my soda. They are over seasoned. The pigs in blanket had a weird alcoholic after taste. I separated the bread from the dog and I believe it came from te dog. The breading tasted like toasted bread, I was expecting a corn bread breading.
Would come back for the soup and try the other places nearby.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John W.Littleton, CO675262323Oct 24, 2018
Verdict: Am interesting take on chicken and steak, fajitas that is.
You guessed it. I got the chicken and steak fajitas. These don't have beans but they've got the rest of the traditional items.
As for the interesting take, I'd swear he used teriyaki sauce for the meat. It tasted good but was certainly different from the norm.
It's awesome that you can order and go to the brewery next door. They'll bring the food your way when it's ready. Just don't forget to let them know where you'll be.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 27, 2015
Tried the Green Chile Soup definitely some spicy madness. I'm definitely a huge con·nois·seur of Dogs, I had a successful business in AZ over 10 years ago way back when people weren't even familiar with the craze of Food Truck/Vending businesses so excited to try their dogs out, next time around.
One thing I will alss point out that the couple are very friendly & sweet and I love to SUPPORT SMALL LOCAL who really put their heart & soul into a business. Looking forward to my return!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Sep 16, 2019
Had not been to the Green Jeans area in a long time. I was glad to have the food here. I had an amazing chicken noodle soup with green chili. I also had a chicken quesadilla. Both were amazing and very filling. Well worth a visit.

Mm mm mmm. You know we all have fond memories of places we went when we were younger and no longer live by, at least many of us do. For me it was El Loco off of Lark st in Albany, my. I used to go there as a teen and get the veggie fajitas. Mmmm they were so good. Well finally I have found a place in New Mexico that brings back those flavors. It's crazy I live in the southwest and you'd think that I would haven't found a replica many years ago, but that hasn't happened. Until now.
It's a Monday...and yes I have a case of "the mondays" and needed some thing quick and tasty with a tasty beverage to wash it all down. I stopped at Chumlys with the intention of getting the chicken fajitas, but spotted the grilled veggie quesadilla and made a gut decision. Damn... my guts are happy!!
Tasty grilled veggies. With the perfect amount of char and cheese. The salsa complements it perfectly. So perfectly I don't even need sour cream!!
Thank you Chumlys for brightening my day and easing my Monday blues!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John R.Albuquerque, NM4423817Oct 16, 2019
I found this place a little while ago and they have amazing steak fajitas.
I really don't have a whole lot more to say about this place, just seriously try the fajitas...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
