Welcome to Chocolatte! Proudly serving Brooklyn, we're a cafe and espresso bar serving locally roasted coffee and fresh, gourmet Kosher food. At Chocolatte, coffee is our top priority. Our coffee is made from fine Arabica beans which have a delicate, slightly sweet taste. Locally roasted in Brooklyn, the beans are then sent fresh to each of our three locations where they are ground on-site to brew the perfect cup of coffee. When it comes to food, Chocolatte strives to provide fresher, tastier, and healthier options. We offer a fresh, innovative menu with that is entirely Kosher and vegetarian. Try one of our popular breakfast plates -- we've got everything from classic American breakfasts to our Tel Aviv plate, served with israeli salad and a hot drink. We also offer fresh, healthy wraps, salads, sandwiches, soups, and pasta! Chocolatte is a true local favorite. Stop by today for freshly ground coffee and espresso and gourmet Kosher food served around the clock in a pleasant, modern atmosphere. Welcome, enjoy, and bon appetite!

This place gave me so much love and patience while I was living in Brownsville. The food is actually really good and all kosher but most of all the coffee is just incredible and the location is perfect. The staff are some of the nicest people I've ever met and are so understanding with customers (I would go in and buy one large iced mocha with two extra shots of espresso and then work on my laptop for a bit.) There is internet and it is open 24hrs. Sometimes it can get super packed up but even then it's worth the line and they get through heavy rushes pretty fast honestly. Plus it gets packed for a reason, it's the best. I can't have dairy anymore but they actually have a load of dairy free options for drinks and food and overall it's just a very thoughtful place.
If you want to try some of the best coffees/teas/chai lattes in all of New York, head over to their crown heights or Coney Island locations and you will NOT be disappointed. I've probably had a couple hundred drinks from there in the past but y'all ready know when I make it to New York next, Chocolatte is my first stopHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 3, 2024
I found this place through a quick search looking for good hot chocolate spot. The hot chocolate was fine. The coffee was fine too. We really enjoyed the baked goods especially the donuts.
The service behind the counter was lovely. Very welcoming.
But to be honest we probably would have gone somewhere else if we had seen the back area first. The seating area was absolutely filthy. Someone needs to periodically check to ensure that it is a space where people can enjoy their purchases.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 3, 2019
I wish I read reviews of this place before walking in...
I was working in the area and was craving a bagel and cream cheese. It was about 10am when I walked in with my coworker. I ordered a bagel and cream cheese and some type of pastry with mushroom filling. I had high expectations of Chocolatte and the shop was adorable. I waited and waited... waited some more after paying. The guy behind the counter tells me they ran out of bagels. It's 10am and I've been waiting for 15 mins for you to toast a bagel and spread cream cheese on it. He asks if he could substitute it with the house baguette. I said sure! At this point I'm starving and angry. The guy taking my order should've known if they ran out of ingredients. Actually the shop is tiny, every staff should've known.
Baguette with cream cheese: Poorly made and where's the cream cheese??? That is not a schmear. I gave half to my coworker and I'm not sure what she did with it.
Mushroom pastry: Pastry was flaky, but the mushroom filling was super salty. The pastry was cold too.
I wish I walked a bit further down the block because other bakeries were filled with customers and bagels lined the windows.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Andrea K.Brooklyn, NY230318313Jul 15, 2021Updated review
The customer service is great. You will always find a friendly barista at Chocolatte. The food is amazing. The coffee is the best in Crown Heights. But if you order food make sure to tell them you want salt and pepper (if you want it) because on certain things they don't add it because some people don't want it. The great thing about this place is you can custom order things the way you like them. So for example today I ordered my caesar salad with no croutons light dressing and with avocado on top.
Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 9, 2020Previous reviewI really love this restaurant. I have been a regular there for many years enjoying their drinks and entrées. The staff is super friendly. The service is quick. The food is great. During the coronavirus pandemic I continued to go there to get take out. The first few times I went there the place was empty and getting take out wasn't a problem because it was just me and the employees there. But then other times when I returned I couldn't stay and get the take out because they don't have a policy that customers must wear masks and social distance while in their restaurant. So I walk in their restaurant to order take out and I see customers waiting in line close to each other no masks. It was like a coronavirus nightmare that I didn't want to enter. So I decided not to order and just leave. I think it would just be so simple and better for customers if the restaurant atleast had a sign that said no mask no service. Then I would feel more comfortable ordering there right now.
Oct 31, 2015Previous reviewSince I last came here the manager saw my Yelp review and wrote me a beautiful apology lettter. He explained to me that he was very sorry for my experience and said that they have made many improvements to the business including in the areas of customer service and price. And he was right. I took his invitation (he asked me to please come again) and I returned to the Cafe. The prices have been lowered significantly. The customer service was excellent. And no problems with the customers this time. It was a good experience and the Cappuccino was delicious and so was the cinnamon roll which was hot and fresh and smellled great. BTW they have free WiFi also. I would have given this business 5 stars but they don't have a bathroom. They share a bathroom with a business next door that isnt always open when they are. Kind of inconvenient for customers.
Jul 31, 2014Previous reviewIf you are Muslim or a not a Hasidic Orthodox Jew I suggest you don't go in here. 90% of the time I go in Cafe I get harrassed, not by the staff of course but by the customers. One night a drunk Jew was in there and started cursing at me and saying that Muslims couldn't be there, etc. I find the crowd that hangs out at this Cafe is pretty extreme. I have had customers try to photograph me also while I am there trying to eat. Not worth the harrassment to get a bit to eat. Also very pricey. But their smoothies are good.. even though you will pay over $8 for a 20 ounce one.

Ordered from them a couple of time while I lived in Brooklyn. Their desserts tasted significantly like rotten eggs and their drinks really weren't worth the price.

Meh. Overpriced and my mango smoothie is like a pound of barely chopped up bananas with one slice of mango in it. Like a crappy banana cream pie eaten thru a straw and a piece of mango accidentally got into the pie dish...minus the whipped cream. B/C whipped cream may not be kosher.
Because I paid $8 for a smoothie now I can't throw it away. I'm gonna go home and throw it in my Vitamix and fix it.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sharon D.Pflugerville, TX318Dec 24, 2021
I never had sachlav before visiting this place and I wouldn't mind having it every day now! This place is truly unique and a gem. I hope to visit again in the future.

This review is just for the employees and the coffee. I visited a couple of times while visiting family nearby. It is conveniently located off of Eastern Parkway which is perfect for morning/afternoon walks.
The staff was nice and patient when we were looking at the menu. Their iced coffee was good and did the job. Coffee service was quick and efficient. Their baked goods case looked incredible and their chocolate selection is very unique. I unfortunately didn't get to indulge on that front, though.
I'd definitely come back when I'm back in the area.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jennifer R.Westerleigh, Staten Island, NY14165Jun 16, 2021
I ordered food from here via the Yelp App and I received the complete order wrong. Each time I walk in they are clueless to my order. The strangest thing.

Where do I even start?
First off, I tried to call the store to make an order. However, the guy on the phone, for whatever apparent reason, did not want to take my order, told me to order online, and then hung up on me. I went on their website, but it was glitchy on my phone, so I ended up walking to the store.
When I got there, there were people in the store giving me rude stares and talking about me.. Why, because I was not Jewish and I had red hair and tattoos? A great way to feel welcome. Great customer service.
So I gave my order, and waited awkwardly in the store. I took my order and left.
When I had gotten home, I looked at the order, and they had given me rotten avocados and old olives. They had also given me two eggs, instead of the three that was specified online, and those two eggs were not even cooked properly.
If you are not Jewish, don't even bother coming to the store because they will give you horrible customer service and give you the left overs that they wouldn't give to somebody that was Jewish. I wasted $16 at this store. Thanks, no thanks.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
