China Poblano is my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas. I make a point to come here every time I'm there (I travel to Vegas for work about 4 times a year).

Summary (on a scale of 1 to 5 stars):
      Food: 5 stars
      Drinks: 5 stars
      Atmosphere: 5 stars
      Service: 5 stars
      Price: 4 stars

The food is a marriage of Mexican and Asian cuisine. It's unique, and it's delicious. My favorites are the guacamole (medium style has just the right amount of kick); When Pigs Fly (steamed pork buns); Shrimp Mojo (shrimp with sweet black garlic and roasted poblano peppers); pork belly taco, lobster taco, tuna ceviche, and, the all-star, the chocolate terra cotta warrior. It's a chocolate mouse filled warrior-shaped chocolate with ginger ice cream, cookie crumbs, and caramelized banana. It is the most unique dessert I have ever had. Yes, ever. You have to order it. and you won't be disappointed.

Drinks: Food: The margaritas are phenomenal. You should get a pitcher.

      Atmosphere: Vibrant, lively, and fun.

Service: 5 starts. All the servers I've had have been knowledgeable and attentive. Food starts coming out almost right away and continues to come out as it's ready. The hostesses are friendly too.

Price: It's not a cheap place, but it's worth the extra $ because the food is so good. Just not a place to come if you're on a budget. Definitely a place to come if you value a great meal.

Can't wait for my next trip.

Always 5 out of 5. **this is our MUST GO everytime I'm in vegas**

Don't feel like Asian Mexican fusion? Sorry, we're not friends and I can't hang with you. BRB heading to China poblano.

As a stupid uber fan of Anthony Bourdain (rip to my sweet TV husband), I had to check out his buddies restaurant. No reservations (pun intended) and no problems.

I've had almost everything on the menu (less the shellfish bc I don't keep epipens on me). Here's my favorite must haves everytime:

Birria tacos: stupid. Stupid stupid stupid good. The consomme is really like a soup. So after you drop half your taco in it, just eat it with the spoon they give you. Yeah you might bloat up from the salty fatty goodness but really you only live once so...

When pigs fly is also delightful. My kids always want these to themselves but sorry, mama needs some dough. Pork is succulent and sweet delish.

Fish tacos: they look small but looks are deceiving. You will be full if you order 3 tacos so don't fall for that and then you have no room for all the rest of the menu items. Order one fish taco and thank me later. My son loves the chicken tacos and my husband loves the potato taco (which is really weird to me and he's not a veggie so idk why he likes it so much but...)

Noodles are all delish. I personally like the lamb one. Can't remember the name but it's wide flat noodles with lamb, green onions, some stringy stuff and saucey sauce. So good.

Empanadas atun are good but KIM the tuna gets a little cooked bc it's fried. Still legit to me but some ppl might not like that too much.

OK, the shu Mai. Holy mackey smackey!!! The quail egg - how do they poach that so perfectly? If you like boba I would say it's a similar experience. I get the chicken one bc again, I don't wanna die from shrimp, but from what I hear the pork and shrimp one is stupid delish too. My kids and husband sure like it.

The churros: the best thing ever. I inhale these without cooling them. The cheese on the inside is different. I've never experienced it but lemme tell you: it's the right way to make churros. The only churros I've ever had that beat these are in el paso or Juarez. Hard pressed to find churros better than this (and if you like Disneyland or Costco churros, you ain't livin)

      Run to China poblano. Run.

I stayed at the Cosmo for 4 nights and I went to China Poblano 3 times. It might be a problem, but honestly I can't wait to return!

I made a res for one so I sat at the counter. They have one coutner that is on the Mexican side of the house where they make fresh tortillas/tacos etc but not bar (its to the left) and one Chinese counter that is where they make the dumplings and some cocktails. I sat on both sides, but prefer the Mexican side because the ladies are so good at making tortillas I couldn't help but stare.

The food is either Chinese or Mexican. According to the story on the top of the menu the Asian girl (historic China Poblano legend) was brought over at a young age and brought her culture of cooking and dress to this Puebla region in MX. This restaurant honors the tradition in its own way. If the food price ends in .88 it's Chinese and .00 it's Mexican. This is not a typical fusion restaurant where you are eating something like a dumpling with nopales and cheese inside lol..

Tacos are quite small, and quite pricey, but delicious. The potato taco (not pictured) wasn't great, but the pulpo one was!

The salt air margarita still appears in my dreams, wow. Must try. If you can't get a spot take out is worth it with their walk up window. The Dim Sum was spectacular.

      Can't wait to return.

I honestly did not know what to expect but what a treat!!!!

Crafted by the ingenious Chef José Andrés, this vibrant venue offers an intriguing blend of authentic dishes alongside inspired innovations, showcasing a side-by-side celebration of these rich cuisines rather than a blend.

The taco lineup was a parade of delights, each bringing its own unique flair. From the comforting embrace of the Potato Taco to the sea-kissed Spanish Octopus Taco, the succulence of the Grilled Chicken Taco, the depth of the Carnitas Taco, to the multifaceted flavors of the Bean Taco, every bite was a testament to the harmonious yet bold flavors that are central to China Poblano's ethos. While the Bean Taco was delicious in its own right, I found myself wishing for a bit more texture to contrast the soft fillings.

Notably, the Bean Taco, though packed with flavor, could have been elevated with an element of crunch to add to its texture profile. This minor tweak would enhance its standing amidst the other taco offerings.

It's worth mentioning the impressive flexibility and efficiency of the staff at China Poblano; despite it being a bustling Saturday, they accommodated two of us at the bar within a mere 5 minutes. This level of service added to the overall exceptional experience of dining at such an innovative establishment.

Delicious and different! Had such fun here for a birthday dinner. Our server Jisrael gave us a fantastic experience. Stand outs were the cranberry Margarita with salt foam, chips & smoky salsa and the 21 ingredient fried rice. Don't forget the churros with Mexican chocolate dipping sauce! Highly recommend this fun time at the fabulous Cosmopolitan. Go to the stunning Chandelier bar before or after!

I expected Chinese-Mexican fusion, but our wait staff explained it's more like a "two in one" restaurant - all the menu dishes that end in $.88 are Chinese while those ending in $.00 are Mexican.
Overall, I was impressed! I don't think the shumai (4/5 stars) are as good as Din Tai Fun, but the pork buns (4.5/5 stars) were! We loved the buurria (5/5 stars) and felt like those were mind-glowingly good!

Located inside the Cosmopolitan, China Ponlano offers dumplings and tacos all in one spot!

It was pretty busy for a Sunday night, but we only waited about 5 minutes for a seat up at the bar like area. It was a well lit restaurant with a dumpling bar on one side and a taco bar in the other. The service is good if you aren't in a hurry. It is loud with music playing... we liked it!

The man serving us took his time getting to us. When he finally did, we ordered water, and each ordered the birrira tacos that are in the appetizer part of the menu. The appetizer comes with 3 tacos and a side of the consummé. We got to watch a woman make them right in front of us. She made SO MANY TACOS WHILE WE WERE THERE! They were pretty delicious. These tacos don't come crispy, but if you ask, they can try their best. The tacos are made with blue tortillas, cheese, and onions with cilantro! They were packed full of meat!

We also ordered Har Gaw dumplings. They had a shrimp & pork mixture. Those took a really long time to get to us. We didn't like those. They tasted bland. They didn't have the right consistency, so we sent them back.

It took a while to pay, but the service was still good.

This place was amazing. They make your guacamole fresh and tableside, hence the price! Very good quality dumplings too. Tried cactus here for the first time, also very good. Be careful with the yellow sauce because I found out that is NOT cheese, that is habanero! Haha but it was all good. No complaints at all, but you must try the quesabirria- out of this world. Will be back soon to try even more of the menu. No pics because the food had me so occupied. Also was on a magical second date, great atmosphere for dates or groups or families!

I was so glad to be able to try José Andrés' spot while visiting the Cosmo. When my friends and I arrived (without a reservation), we were surprised that they had a table for 6 ready and we were able to be seated quickly. It took our server a long time to get to our table since the place was so busy, so when he did come over, we were ready to order apps and drinks.

The table side guacamole was something that we all agreed on and we also wanted to try the queso so it was easy to order apps. When it was time to order dinner, we were all thinking difference items. I loved this menu and had a hard time making a decision, but I went with the Dim Sum (Chicken Siu Mai) and was really happy about it. Others at the table ordered items from all over the menu so we had a lot of food to choose from and did some sharing which was nice.

One thing was a little weird was that the food kept coming out at different times rather than all at once. I guess that's just the way it is, but it was a bit strange to have some of us with food and others still waiting. But we made it work and did some sharing.

When our food was all delivered and we were done eating, it honestly took about 15 minutes before our server came back and we had to ask for the check. We were all out of our drinks and didn't want to wait anymore to order again, so we just paid the check and left.

The food was amazing. But the service was a bit to be desired. I get that it was busy, but it would have been nice to have our server check in on us more often so that we could have ordered more drinks or more food/snacks.

This is THE BEST FOOD IVE HAD THIS WHOLE TRIP!!!
I've gone to several restaurants this trip and this was by far the best! The flavor, the season, the sauce, the service! The whole experience was amazing. We are at the bar where they make the tortillas. We sat and chatted with our neighbors and our waiter. He was a good guy. The food recommendations were good too. The ambience was nice too. Had a good vibe and the design/ decor was good. We ordered the Road to Xi'an and the 20 vegetable rice with shrimp. The noodles were delicious! The flavor and sauce were the best. The rice was the best too! You cannot go wrong here. I will make sure every trip I eat here and try something new
