This was a very difficult place to rate. My wife daughter and I came here last Saturday afternoon at 4pm, obviously knowing it was going to be a slow time. Much of the food was cold. The fried zucchini was room temp. The white rice clearly had been sitting for way too long and was cool to cold and crunchy. The Pepsi was flat. They did bring out fresh Chicken and Broccoli and Beef and Broccoli which was actually quite tasty. The hot and sour soup was fair. The floor of our booth had food on it. The walls were not clean and there is food seen (we think it is food at least) even above the window. It was there today. The wall paper has water damage the decor is definitely lacking and needs a thorough cleaning. The young girl working seemed to pay little attention to anything other than her phone. She was however pleasant to arriving customers picking up their take out. Today's experience was better. We arrived right after the lunch rush. The food was warm to hot and other than the white rice It seemed fairly fresh. One of the person with me raved about the spring rolls and had nothing bad to say about the place other than it just had a dirty feel to it. What can one expect when the buffet is only 7.99 all day every day and it includes the drink. If you are feeling adventurous give this place a try.

I went saturday night at 6:20 and it was empty only me. Should of known. But I tried there buffet. It was the worst I have ever had. It was all old and disgusting. The food seemed really old and dried up. All I could eat was the Broccoli and rice. I've been to many buffets and this was hands down the worst. I even tried the oranges in the non salad bar. Warm and gross..
I felt so cheated with all the buffets around town. But wanted to try a different place.. Never again.. They could offer it free and i would still NEVER go back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jonathan F.Twin Valley, MN01Jun 27, 2015
The prices are really reasonable for the lunch buffet, at $7.95/person, and the food selection didn't look too bad, either. The dishes served were good-to-decent, but nothing really stood out. However, the food was solid for the most part. The cream cheese wontons was the only dish I had a complaint about, and it was because of how hard and crumbly it was.
The best part of the meal was DEFINITELY the sushi, and also the, in my opinion as an avid tea drinker, obligatory hot tea. The drink selection was good, the desserts scrumptious, but the location rather poor, which is why I'd say 3.5, if able to on here.
if you get a chance to come here, I'd recommend it for at least one time because it does well to serve one's fixing for Chinese food without breaking the bank.
(Oh yea, and don't forget to ask about the fortune cookies at the counter when you're heading out!)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Edward O.Fargo, ND01Oct 31, 2016
Inside a dumpling was a good sized piece of broken chopsticks. I almost chipped a tooth on it. Watch out for whoever makes the dumplings in the kitchen. Never again to trust this place. The cook might have ill intentions. I recommend king house buffet in Fargo more.

The food is great for delivery or dinning in. The buffet leaves a little to be desired due to the low amount of traffic, it's hard to keep the buffet up to date. Order off the menu and the food will get to you fast, fresh and tasty. Service is great, nice and friendly. If the buffet were more in demand this would be a five star review! Can't say enough about the food and service.

Delivery is still great! This is our go-to Chinese delivery place. Beef & broccoli never disappoints. I wish this place didn't look so sketch and I'm worried that visiting the restaurant will ruin us wanting to order from this place. Still gets 4 stars despite this, since every time we've ordered it has consistently been fast, fresh, and delicious.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 14, 2016Previous reviewve never been in here but we've ordered delivery twice in the past month & both times have been great! The food is fresh, tasty, and very reasonably priced. The beef & broccoli is the best I've had in this area. The beef is cooked well & the brocolli tastes fresh & still has some crunch to it. Neither the bf or I were fans of the general tso chicken- it had very little spice.
However, Ive been impressed & we will continue to order from here when the mood for Chinese strikes. - Mark W.Fargo, ND1812297May 18, 2015
Hidden from view by buildings on Main Avenue and just a stone's throw from Dollar Tree, the selection here is smaller than other buffets. But there's good things about this place too! First, they have wonton soup which the King House Buffet does NOT have. Second, the drink selection is Pepsi and they have Sobe Lifewater Yumberry Pomegranate to drink! Third, this place serves sushi. These advantages make a trip to China Garden worth it at least once.

Well, I've never been there in person, but I order from there for delivery all the time. They make very good fried rice (generous meats) and the egg rolls are great. I don't like the cream cheese wontons here, they are bland. The prices are good too.

Been trying out all of the Chinese buffet's in Fargo/Moorhead recently after previously sticking to just 2 or 3 of them. This was the second to last one we needed to try. Unfortunately the experience was not going to make us return anytime soon.
Lunch on a Sunday was $8.25, vs. $6.50 for a normal day of the week. For that price, we were treated to a lack of plumb sauce in the vat - had to ask for more to be brought out, completely out of milk in the machine, many vats contained just a small portion of remnants, though a couple were refilled while we where there, and most everything was tepid temperatures--at best; and definitely worrysome besides. Until halfway through the meal we were the only ones in the place just after 1pm.
Selection was poorest compared to any others in both towns; most limited cold/salad bar by far; and hot bar was also very limited. Fish was floating in warm (not hot) water instead of being served nicely with butter or spices on a *hot* plate. Cream cheese wontons barely had any cheese in it, 90% of the mass was the coating.
As is typical with many of the 'cheaper' Chinese buffets, there was a significant amount of overcooked/dry, hard to chew meat (mainly chicken) in various pieces. Also as seems to be common around this area, the owners/employee's children were running around; even carrying tablets watching cartoons with the volume loud enough to distract the customers.
I could list a ton of other details but the summary is that we will not be returning -- the only one so far in F/M we've felt that with. We wished we could have at least been smart enough to try on a weekday instead of a Sunday to save $3.50 off the unfortunately below average experience. Poor selection, bland taste, tough meat, empty items, distractions -- there are definitely better options in the area.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sarah S.Moorhead, MN26Jun 29, 2011
I order here a lot whenever I crave chinese, its one of the decent places that actually delivers. But they changed the Lo mein, now its not as good.
