I'm a big Harkins Theatres guy. I'm also a big movie fanatic. My brother worked for Harkins back in high school and so I got lots of discounts and free movies. I saw all the big movies back in the 90's at the old Cine Capri in Phoenix and the Camelview 5 in Scottsdale. I'm all about the movie experience and would rather see a blockbuster movie on the big screen than at home. When it comes to date nights, dinner and a movie have always been my thing. This location in Chandler is close to home and has been my go-to for movie watching for the past 15 years.

This Harkins Theatres is next to Chandler Fashion Square Mall. They've updated all the screening rooms to stadium seating with the electronic reclining seats. There is a bar and children's play center in the lobby. The Ciné 1 theatre room showcases the newest films and has an extra large screen, 4K laser projection and Dolby Atmos 3D object-based sound.

I like going to Harkins because they offer the best deals for a regular movie goer like myself. I'm part of their My Harkins Awards program where you get discounts after so many visits. They have an annual Popcorn Perks program where you can get 36 medium popcorns for a year for $30 (one popcorn per visit). I also purchase the loyalty cup and get my $2 refillable drink each show. I save on admission price by seeing most of my movies during matinee hours. Going to the movies doesn't have to be expensive if you look for the deals.

My one negative about Harkins Theatres are the concession lines. Lines can be long because majority of the employees that work the counters are young folks who are working their first job. Plus people bog up the lines because they order way too much food for a two hour movie in my opinion.

I wanted to get a big bag of take it home popcorn. They let me in to go to the concession stand. The line was quite long and took awhile to get to the front. Once I was the first person in line, I asked if I could get a big bag of take it home unsalted popcorn. I was told that I should call ahead for that. I said that I would wait if it was okay. I was told to wait off to the side. There was a narrow waiting lane in the middle of the two sides of the concession stand lines. As I waited there, I saw the employee then ask the manager what to do. After that, they ended up scooping some of the popcorn to the side in the popcorn machine. Then, they put kernels into the machine. I got to see the kernels popping from where I was standing.

I also observed that they weren't refilling old popcorn bags. I heard quite a few people asking for a refill after they came out from watching a movie. It seems like they don't do free popcorn refills and haven't been doing it for a while no now.

Also, the price of the take it home popcorn has increased recently. I like the take it home popcorn because it is so big. I got an extra large popcorn size before and it was difficult taking it home since the popcorn can spill out of the open bag. The popcorn was hot and tasty!

The location looked really good. It looks like the one on superstition with the red and yellow boxes by the bar. It looks visually appealing.

I was there to see Little Mermaid with my friend and her kid. They ordered snacks like fries, slushie and popcorn/kids tray and I ordered buncha crunch and chicken tender meal with ranch. It was busy. Everyone was working hard. By the time we got our food we were kind of rushing so theirs came out first and I told them to go ahead. By the time I made it in the movie had started about 5-7 minutes in. Still saw the shark! I had a handful of things like my phone, purse, drink and ranch so when my food came out I forgot about my buncha crunch. I came out about ten minutes later and it wasn't a problem. I just waited in line, which honestly was fine because that movie was so long. It was beautifully done, cast did terrific but being born as a 90's baby I do have a soft spot for the original. It was all the extra songs making it last forever.

The seats were comfortable and gave nice space. Kids were getting antsy so quite a few people left early but it was still a decently full theater.

I'd go back to this location. The chicken tenders were yummy and the fries were too. The chocolate was the perfect junk food touch.

Harkins has the best movie popcorn I've had in AZ so far. Bartenders should get tips though.

This movie theatre is always really clean. The staff is courteous and efficient. The overall experience is superior to that of an AMC movie outing and there's financially savvy ways to make the most of your movie dates by joining the popcorn perks program (a medium popcorn 36x per year for only $30!!) and getting the loyalty cup ($7.75 with only $2 refills for pop.) We particularly had a great evening the other night with exceptional service from a concession attendant by the name of Jessie. He was very kind and helpful. It's nice to enjoy a night out at the movies here! Recommend!

This is our go to theater. It's always clean and employees are kind. I find value in the popcorn perks and the summer movie passes. There's a $5 charge for online ticket purchase. Will always return here.

Very nice, clean theatre. Staff was friendly. Popcorn was good. Recliners comfortable. We saw a matinee here and tickets were $9. Good experience!

Bought an extra large popcorn and paid cash and was supposed to come with a free refill, but they won't honor it because I don't have a receipt. Such bullshit. This is why I prefer AMC of Regal theaters.

Great seats, good sound, we can reserve our seats. Bar for the grownups with decent beer choices. We went at dinner time and needed to eat. Soft pretzel was really good!! My husband said his chicken tenders were surprisingly good.

To the gentleman who was working the customer service desk at 12:30pm on 2/15: you talked down to two elderly women while they were trying to purchase their movie tickets because they were not well-versed in technology. You then asked to see the popcorn machine I was returning which I then opened and then you talked to me like I was stupid and expected me to lift it up onto the counter because you were too lazy to take five steps around the desk to assist your client. You then told me I could not get a copy of my service agreement until you finished helping every other person in line. Rude and unprofessional.
