Expected this venue to be larger, but it was cute. The waitress was not friendly nor helpful.
Let me get to the good stuff.
-Chicken tacos were delicious. Soft tortillas (tasted homemade) fresh guacamole and tasty chicken.
-Barbacoa tacos were pretty good. Tender meat with soft tortillas. Salsa was pretty tasty.
-Black beans and fried plantains were delectable.
-Michelada was pretty dissatisfying. No flavor and it was $9.00!

I will return just for the food. Minus one star due to the customer service.

Barbacoa tacos & black beans, chicken tacos & plantains. Every single bite was exquisite.

Came to Cerveteca on our last night in Venice before traveling home to the East Coast. There were only two of us so we grabbed a sweet spot in the outdoor section. Cute little tables, dark and romantic. The other comments about groups larger than 2 being put at 2-person tables is totally true - there were tables of three and four on either side of us and both groups were put at a 2-person table. But since there were only two of us, that doesn't really matter!

Started with a round of margaritas and some guacamole, salsa and chips. All were excellent. Love me a strong margarita.

I would consider myself a fish taco connoisseur and during my week stint in SoCal, I ate more fish tacos than one can count. From restaurants, from stands, from food trucks, you name it! The fish tacos from Cerveteca were amazing. Great flavors, big portion, fresh ingredients, great quality fish. We got the grilled salmon tacos and the Baja fish tacos. Each comes with two tacos so we switched off. We liked the Baja better than the salmon, but I would have gladly eaten either. They had such great flavors, more Spanish fusion than traditional Mexican.

If you are with another person, Cerveteca is a great little date spot in Venice!

I frequent Cerveteca any time I'm headed to the beach. I park on or near Rose, grab a bite, then mosey off to the sand or vice versa. I prefer the happy hour tacos because they are cheaper and a la carte and navigate towards the heartier plates when it is not
HH. The last couple of times I have gone the burger route and they don't skimp on the thickness of the patty! It's a mean handful.

Service has been exceptional. It's a small place, but what they lack in real estate, they make up for in menu/attentiveness.

I've been to this location twice and both times extremely satisfied. The first time I came for drinks and apps during happy hour and i really enjoyed it. (They have really good deals).

Make sure you guys make resevations because it gets busy during happy hour. Make sure you choose to sit outside since they have a cute outside patio.

Food I've ate here are the amazing fish tacos. They are so fresh and tasty. Oh and other favorite are their street corn. So yummy!!!

Cool place with a great menu and funky vibe.
Service was fine, food was ready within a few minutes and my Barbacoa tacos were tasty, but I feel pricey for what you get. Not a huge fan of their tortillas or salsa, but the meat was great. Tender and very rich, too much for one tortilla.
Since there are so many great dining options here, I wouldn't bother to come back, but it was fine.

I just had their cactus, roasted chili syrup, lemon margarita and it was incredible. I could have downed about 6 of those. Oh, and it's only $9 during happy hour. Score.

I was in LA for work last month and we popped into grab a table here, it was buzzing! The ambience was cool and the string of lights above the outdoor deck at night drew us in. We happened to get a table for four real quick and we tucked in a corner seat on the patio. Best part about LA, is you can still be outside on a patio in October. We ordered classic margaritas of course which were fantastic! Strong but flavourful with a salted rim. We all shared the shrimp ceviche and I had a fish taco and braised beef taco. The fish was so damn good and the beef super tender! Were they the best tacos I've had, no but still great. The Salsa served with the tacos was fresh and simple, just how I like it! If I ever find myself back in Venice, I'd like to try more food at this joint! Highly recommend for the food and fun ambience!

I was really excited to try this place based on the reviews, but was seriously underwhelmed. It's located in a really cool spot in Venice near other great shops. Parking can be tricky as it's mostly street parking.

Service here was great - from the hostess to the waiters/waitresses. Also very cute space. However, the food was pretty disappointing. We started with chips, guac and salsa. The guac was good, but I wasn't particularity fond of the chips. They seemed similar to store-bought chips that I've had in the past. I also ordered the beer-battered fish tacos. I was so disappointed because they looked delicious. They were lacking flavor. The tortilla was not very soft and the beer batter was very bland. They don't come with a side so I was stuck with two very bland tacos. Even the sauces in the slaw were lacking flavor. We tried the burger, which was fine, but nothing spectacular. I really wanted to like this place, but I wouldn't go back for food. If anything, I'd go back for the nice selection of beers and cute space to hang out in.
