Stopped in for dinner on a road trip. We have been to many Cattlemen's locations and it always a good meal. The service was awesome thanks to Christy. She was very attentive and professional. It was a Wednesday night but it was still fairly busy.
By the time we left it was a Little noisy but not too bad. Overall the food was great. My wife had the prime rib and I had the rib eye. We did the steak dinner for 2 which was good. The portion a bit overwhelming for me the flavor was great.

My husband and I came into this establishment for the first time in 12 years for a date night. The restaurant was clean and well-kept and we only had to wait for about 5 minutes before being seated.
Our server, Jake, was absolutely excellent this evening! He kept our drinks full, offered to keep the menu for a future dessert and kept coming with all the mouthwatering dishes we ordered.
We ordered the loaded potato skins for our appetizer. We made sure that it did not come with any ranch, due to my severe egg allergies. Our server brought that out and brought the amazing, mouthwatering sourdough bread out with real butter and our salad with oil and vinegar on the side.
We decided to share the 2 lb Sheriff steak and it was cooked to a perfected medium rare. My husband had steamed veggies on the side and I had a baked potato with melted butter and cheese. The whole dining experience was amazing!
And while the ranch style beans were not my favorite (Texan here), my husband, who was once a local, absolutely loved them!!!

I am heading from Medford Oregon to Ukiah, California and stopped in Redding for dinner. I searched steak places and ultimately decided on Cattleman's, because I've had good experiences everywhere else.
It is tough to give four stars, but bear with me. I made a reservation, and they did not seat me immediately. I almost walked out: but, I was five minutes early, so I decided to wait. The wait was maybe three minutes. Not sure what the point of that was.
I ordered a martini and it arrived just after I returned from washing my hands. It was nice to be seated in a booth.
I ordered a filet and a twice-baked potato. My server Olivia asked what kind of dressing I wanted for my salad. I didn't want a salad, I was not super hungry. I said "Italian" and she very gracefully mentioned they have a vinaigrette. "Perfect!", I reply.
Martini was excellent. Salad arrived and it was accompanied by warm bread and butter. The salad was served in a shallow stainless mixing bowl and tongs. So I tossed the salad and filled my bowl. That took half the salad. The probably four ounces of vinaigrette was in something like a gravy boat. It was the perfect amount for the double salad. I ate it all.
When my steak and potato arrived it looked amazing. I ordered the only Cabernet Sauvignon on the menu. While I waited for that to arrive, the reason for the minus one star was experienced - the potato tasted strange. Like it had a hint of fish sauce(?). I still ate most of it hoping it would change. The steak I ordered medium rare, I should have ordered medium. I could not finish it, you may be able to tell why by what's left.

FOOD: Entrees come with AYCE salad, sourdough bread, ranch-style beans, and rice, baked potato, mashed potatoes, or French fries.
- Dakota Chicken: grilled chicken breast topped with bacon, mushrooms, cheddar cheese and honey mustard sauce. The flavor was good. The chicken was slightly dry. The dish was pretty oily due to the cheese and bacon I assume. 3.5/5
-- Garlic Fries: I upgraded to the garlic fries. It was worth the additional $2.99.
- Chocolate Outlaw Cake: chocolate cake with chelated mousse and chocolate frosting. The cake was moist and surprisingly not overly sweet. 4/5
SERVICE: We had reservations but still had to wait about 15ish minutes. Our server was friendly and attentive. 3.5/5

Awful food, the whole group of us got food poisoning. The steaks are awful. The atmosphere is old and dirty. Staff is mediocre at best. Never will return. If you want a great steak go to Jacks Grill in Redding!

The best prime rib EVER! Great deal with the dinner for two. Had ribeye and the prime. Came with a fresh large salad and the best bread ever. Loved the artichoke dip that came with the meal and the carrot cake was the best I ever had. Only complaint was your blue cheese dressing is not good. Great waiter too.

This is an average chain steakhouse. It's not bad, but not amazing. The meats a little chewy, could use better seasoning, and is still a tad pricey. It was cooked exactly how I like it though, so thumbs up there.

I had dinner at this Cattlemans this evening. The steaks were done just right and the seasonsoning was good as served.
