My family and I stopped by his restaurant on our way out of bass lake. We were 14 people deep and the accommodated all of us.
We all ordered different food and it was all delicious. The pozole, albóndigas, chile relleno, salsa verde, huevo con chorizo, enchiladas, caldo de camarón and camarones a la diabla. We are raza and can appreciate good Mexican food.
All 9 adults and 5 kids left happy and with a full belly. Thank you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Ross C.New York, NY05978Dec 19, 2023
Hearty Burrito Grande. Guac wasn't great but the burrito made up for it. Attentive waitress.
A good spot for Tex-Mex in an area where restaurants are relatively sparse. I recommend it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Joe M.North Fork, CA227Apr 11, 2024Updated review
Casa valesco is a great local owned restaurant that has great food. The sauces are home made and very good. The choices on the menu give you many options. The vegetarian nachos are great for those vegetarians out there. I've tried almost everything on their menu and have never been disappointed. It is one of the few restaurants that stay open all year. This gives us locals that option on the off season. I am always looking for privately owned local businesses and try to support them. This place hits all my needs. Great food, decent prices and a staff that is always friendly and attentive. The owner is a sweet woman who has provided wonderful Mexican food to all who come in. She will also talk to customers and ask about your experience. So pay them a visit you won't be disappointed!

I enjoy the combo plates so I can get three different items and I switch it up. The enchiladas and tacos never disappoint. They have a Chicken bowl which is very good if you like a smaller meal. I would have given a 5 but the service sometimes is rushed as it was last night. Friendly but not really attentive had to ask for some things by waving the waiter down because he was too busy to ever check on us. I would say give it a try the food is great!!

Great but small place. Once seated, service and food were very fast. I really loved the multitude of hot sauces on the tables, all of which had labels in Spanish.
The house salsa with the chips was really good. I wanted to drink it, but in the end just poured what was left all over my entree.
A couple of tips: Come here planning to wait to be seated, esp. if a party more than 4. The cell signal is useless in the restaurant (at least for T-Mobile). But you're there for the food...not to check in on Yelp, LOL.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Che C.Daly City, CA23031Feb 17, 2024
I discovered a hidden gem in Bass Lake after stumbling upon their name in a recommendation from our timeshare resort. I figured it must be worth checking out, and I was not disappointed. The menu was extensive and offered a variety of options. We ordered big plates of our choice and were impressed with the rich and tasty flavors. The portions were also generous, and the bill was very reasonable. The staff was excellent and provided great service.

Cute little place on Bass Lake. Decent prices for being a tourist destination. Food was decent for a tourist depot. Margaritas were good. The service was good, fast and friendly. Our server was super friendly. On the way out, we said thank you to the lady up front and she just kind of stared at us like we weren't welcome. Really weird vibe, but maybe she was having a bad day.

Pretty good Mexican restaurant here in Bass Lake. Our server Jerry was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond. The plates were pretty big, I think enough to share with an appetizer. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating. When we came they were packed! And there was a little wait but other than that everything was great.

What a cozy place. Our booked an airbnb for the weekend and as we finished hiking the mono trail near bass lake with our kids it started pouring. We quickly drove to this cute taqueria for an early lunch.
The restaurant is quite cozy with lovely paintings and tiles all over. Bathrooms were beautiful and clean.
Service could be little quicker and friendlier. Food overall was quite good. Kids menu rice and beans was pretty tasty. Loved the grande burrito with ground beef. Pretty light actually - hubby and I split this one. Others ordered fajitas and shrimps tacos. Margherita pitcher was also pretty good.
I would come back here again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
