First off, the restaurant is now ' The Comins Perk'. On your way down the highway, look for the wide spot in the road called Comins. On the East side, look for the white building with a hidden sign; The Comins Perk.
Don't be put off by the unassuming exterior, ( which door ? ) or the lack of a sign. Once in side, you'll be delighted. Cute decor, perky waitress, robust coffee, pretty good food. A surprising little breakfast & lunch spot on M-33, don't pass it by.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Julie J.Ingersoll, Canada0121Oct 2, 2013
We spotted this restaurant and stopped in to try it. It's obviously under renovations, but the waitress and the owner were extremely friendly and were able to relate the history of the building and show us some photographs and newspaper clippings from the past. I ordered the Philly Steak sandwich, and shared it with a friend who had ordered the Reuben. Both were excellent! We are headed out of this area, or we would return for another lunch!

Today my daughter and I decided to check out this restaurant since we haven't been there since we had a bad experience 6 months ago. We were the only customers in there. We weren't even sure if they were open since we saw no one for the first 5 minutes we were there. Finally the waitress came out and we chose our seats. She didn't come to our table, instead she called to us from behind the bar asking what we wanted to drink. After telling her, she went into the kitchen area and came back with a warm 2 liter and poured and brought us two glasses with no straws. There was one straw on the table and I had to search for a second. We both ordered cheeseburgers, medium rare. After a 25 minute wait (we were still the only customers) and a few bare foot children running and arguing through the kitchen and restaurant, she brought us our food. Mine was missing the cheese. I pointed it out and she took it back to the kitchen where they put a piece of cold cheese on it. I cut into my burger and it was well done and the cheese was crumbly. The bun was like rubber. I decided not to send it back since it took 25 minutes the first time. I was not impressed and will not be going back there.
