I had to leave a review for Bob in the service department at Caron Chevrolet. I just called today to set up an appointment to get the oil changed the week of Thanksgiving. I live in Atlanta Georgia. Bob was extremely courteous and professional to me from the beginning of our interaction on the phone. He was kind enough to not only take the appointment, but answer the silly technical questions I had with regard to the truck. He made sure I knew where the dealership is located, since I told him I was coming from out of town, and he told me what to look for when I pulled in so I would know exactly where the service area was located. He explained things to me in a way I could understand without sounding condescending.... which, as a woman who gets a lot of cars repaired, I have always found annoying. I would recommend that before you make a decision as to whether or not to use this service department, make sure you call and speak with Bob first.

I found the perfect car and was fully prepared to make the purchase once I test drove. I already have financing from my bank, but Caron pulled my credit without my permission and the salesman blamed it on the finance manager. I don't care who actually did it, I care that it was without my permission and the salesperson kept blaming it on everyone else when he is the one who asked for my ssn. I shouldn't have given it and this is truly a learning experience. If not for this, they would have had my sale. Oh well, wasn't meant to be.

TERRIBLE ! AVOID CARON CHEVY. Had to give 1 star because there was not an option for 0. Tried to do business with local people. Stopped to have an engine light with a power reduced warning scanned. Was told they had to "hook it up to the computer" And they were a week out in scheduling. I asked if they could just scan it so I'd have an idea what may be wrong since not driving it for a week is not an option. Again told they couldn't do that because to diagnose the problem is more involved (perhaps true if looking to fix exact problem) Car is a 2017 with only 30,000 miles. I know warranty work is not the life blood of a dealership but at least TRY to provide customer service. Called the dealer 25 miles away and was told "No problem just stop in and we will scan it in the parking lot for free" Then he ran my cars VIN and told me any work will be covered by warranty. Go to Heritage Chevy in Battle Creek.

What a headache! I stopped by (a long time ago) to get an estimate for a set of new tires. After stopping by multiple places they were by far the highest $. I would have thought small town places would be more sensible.
The biggest issue I have to deal with is the unfortuante situation with my grandmother. She bought a new car here and goes religiously for service. I used to be a ASE certified mechanic and she will not let me touch this car!
Not long ago she had her blower motor go out. The first one lasted almost a week until it died. They had to order another that took over a week. Her commute without heat in the winter was unpleasant im sure.
The two that pissed me off the most were how they dealt with and treated her tire and brake issue! It took alot to not go down and just ream them a new one. They charge her $$ out the ying yang to do regular preventative work. Now here are things that NEED to be taken care.
FIRST was her back drum brakes on her car. They started off grinding pulling out of the drive. Later it came to be that they were grinding all the time. I kept telling her to have them looked at. She finally got it down and Caron's told her they were fine. They just needed the brake dust cleaned off. With how deep the sound was I knew that could not be right. It got worse and her stopping distance and on the next visiting was severly shortened. With much complaining on her end I took it apart and scoped it out. The reason there was so much brake dust was because the drum shoe had overheated and had cracks in it. It looked okay visually if you took it apart without taking off the shoes completely though. On one side it was causing excessive brake dust and had a small piece of the shoe floating about because it was slowly disintegrating. I cleaned it up with new hardware and shoes and..... good as NEW!
SECOND was her tires. They were the original ones and riddled with cracks and dry rot. Two of them were consistently loosing air on a daily basis. By the end of a week or so they would lose over 10PSI. She took it over to have them look at it and they told her they were fine. Anyone with a 1/4 of a brain could see they were not. I dont know if they were really busy and couldn't deal with it or what, but its unacceptable to send off a senior citizen with time bomb tires! Sure enough a month later a pothole caused a blow out.
Normally I HATE dealerships because they take advantage and overcharge people. I HATE Caron's because they have poor management and terrible technicians. Please do not waste your time or money you would be better off at Tuffy's.
To this day my Grandmother is slowly taking years off my life because even after everything she is still going there! Talk about loyalty.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
