This is a nice neighborhood spot. The staff is friendly and the food is tasty. I usually stick with wings but got the bacon blue cheese burger the other day and was very happy with that choice. Plus the salt and pepper on the fries is excellent! Drinks are fairly inexpensive and the selection of beers on tap is good.
I don't think they're still doing the 2 happy hours for food, but they do them drinks which is nice. Definitely check it out if you're in the area.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 22, 2018
Disappointedly, I felt like this place was a hit or miss regarding what kind of food was served.
I was part of a group of 12 and the restaurant was very accommodating! The staff was was super friendly and helpful.
However, I was not impressed by the food. First off, I ordered the burger medium, expecting some juiciness to ooze with every bite. In contrast, the burger was dry, and did not have a resounding flavor to it. I don't know if the burger was sitting out too long or whatever but I probably would not get it again.
My group had other types of foods that were not too great either. The tater tot appetizer included a large amount and had a good flavor at first, but the bar b que sauce that smothered them was too overwhelming. In fact no one wanted any more after 5 minutes and no one wanted to take it home. The pizza also had nothing special to it.
It did have some really good food, surprisingly! The Mac n cheese, chicken wings, and the cookie dessert were amazing! I was super jealous of the people in our group that did order these and would enjoyed Capitol Hill more if I ordered these.
I am on the fence whether I would come here again...probably will only come if someone I know decides to have a party here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 6, 2016
Stumbled on Cap Hill Tavern after the Taste of Colorado. Cute little neighborhood bar. I really liked the decoration - it was old fashioned, but the bathroom was like a club bathroom - with the coolest sink! Lol
They were playing all the reggae jams that day - my boyfriend and I loved it.
The drinks were good and we tried the fries. OMG - so bad for you, but sooo good! They were covered with BBQ sauce, ranch, queso, and jalepenos. Definitely try them for a cheat day!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 17, 2018
I really like this place! It's walking distance from my office and has a pretty good food selection. Despite the options, I got a burger both times I went. The fries with cajun seasoning are fantastic, and the burger is juicy and flavorful. Service is good, and the ambiance is super cozy. They have comfortable armchair seating and a nice looking patio, though I ate inside both times I went.
This is a great lunch spot and I'll definitely be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 27, 2017
This is a TRUE neighborhood bar. It's literally a bar tucked amongst a block of apartments in a residential neighborhood. I'm new to Denver, but Lance made me feel right at home and introduced me to everyone. The crowd is good, down to earth people with no pretense. They play good music, have a good selection of beer on tap, and a tempting food menu. I have tried the food yet, but the wings look delicious.
I'm glad I live in this neighborhood and although I really don't want too many more people to learn about this place, I would be a bad Yelper if I didn't spread the word.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - J G.Denver, CO2388Aug 7, 2019

Visited Capitol Hill and Tavern for our second time ever while we were in Denver in late December. The first time was pretty mediocre service but this time was awesome. Our server was friendly and attentive and happily accommodated our four friends who joined later in the evening. One of our friends left his wallet on the table before jumping in his Uber but our server ran outside with it just before their car drove away to take them to a concert-- such a lifesaver. The pizza was delicious and I think the beer my boyfriend drank was pretty inexpensive. It's a quirkly little place located between two buildings. I think they may have outdoor seating but we've only visited in the winter and the outdoor space seems to be enclosed. They have TVs and many Bronco fans were there in their fan gear watching the game but it was by no means packed or crowded. Will happily make the walk from where we stay downtown next time we're in town.

We went for a fundraiser event.
The space was very relaxig. There was plenty of open spacea as well as quiet little nooks.
The staff was outstanding. They have to be mentioned. I always felt taken care of and paid attention to. It was easy to relax and mingle with them around.
The food was yummy, I definitely went back for seconds
Overall, very impressive. I can absolutely see hosting an event here or jist meeting
up for drinks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 399813174053May 4, 2016
A really cozy and homey bar. The kind of place you could go to night after night and you'll never get tired of it. Just feels like home. My brother had been haunting this place for awhile and continually invited me out; glad I finally took him up on the offer. It's literally a house in the middle of a neighborhood, and the inside is reminiscent of a giant living room -- big chandelier and all. There's a bunch of mismatched tables and big cozy chairs, and a great classic bar menu. Full bar, burgers, wings, salad, fried stuff. They even have gluten free options! I went with a local Stem Cider (so good) and the gluten free roasted wings with bleu cheese, which were seriously phenomenal. I wasn't expecting them to be so yum.
The bartenders were nice although a bit aloof. Everyone seemed pretty preoccupied and very casual, but I didn't mind. Seems like all are having a good time, staff included, and that's always nice to see.Helpful 15Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - Vlad S.Denver, CO23482Apr 16, 2016
Local haunt. This is my second visit. On the first, we met Butch the Bartender who is equal parts knowledgable and friendly. A better mix you cannot find. Echoing another review, the wings aren't memorable. However, the Stromboli is. Very crispy, complex flavored and the perfect complement to a beer or really any kind of food.
This place feels undeniably good -- it's got positive mojo.
Can I make a request/suggestion? While the menu is still fluid, I'd consider getting something that's easy to pick at. I'd suggest deviled eggs. So hot right now. So delicious. That'd be a homerun.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
