Great spot for popping in for a casual dinner! They have a big covered patio. We tried the following items:
- burrata (average)
- cheese sticks (not very good, they were kind of cold but I wanted to like them because of the focaccia but the marinara with it was too sweet and chunky as well)
- honey bastard - loved this one and understand why it's their best seller!
- tiramisu - this was pretty average, probably wouldn't get again
- not pictured but extremely delish were the doughnut balls.... would eat all if I could!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 5, 2021
Cute little restaurant tucked in South Austin. I've never heard of it but I ordered their pizzas online and picked up. They are operating at 50% capacity. Even though I only tried their pizzas, I saw their pasta which also looked yummy. It was a bit expensive but the food was honestly good. I liked the Honey Bastard a lot, I liked how the honey blended with the pepperoni and bacon bits. Very very yummy! Margharita was also a nice classic pizza that I don't have any complaints about.
Would recommend if you're looking for Italian food on the fancier side.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 20, 2020
Come for the pizza, stay for the Brussels sprouts.
Of course, I want to stay for a whole variety of reasons, including the spacious, covered, dog-friendly, and heated patio, with clearly marked places for proper social distancing. They are taking safety seriously and doing it RIGHT out here. I counted no less than four hand sanitizer pumps around the restaurant, without hunting too thoroughly.
I rarely order fancy drinks, but the frose is worth adding to the bill. Tart and tangy, sweet enough to balance it out without being sugary, and super refreshing, it's like an adult slushee. Dangerously easy to drink, too.
Back to those Brussels sprouts, though. You MUST order them. The bowl seems endless but somehow I managed to polish them all off, unaided. Ask for no cheese and no bacon to make them vegan; they don't lose a thing for the modifications. Perfectly fried, they're crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Sweet and sour balsamic glaze coats each leaf richly, topped off by juices sweety drop peppers (my new obsession) and a shower of crunchy almonds.
Huge props on that pizza, of course. I grew up in NYC so of course, this is Neapolitan style and a different beast entirely, but one of the best crusts I've had in years. Gossamer thin, though soft, not crunchy, the edges are darkly blistered and satisfyingly chewy. You can build you own with vegan cheese that actually melts (!!!) or Beyond meat if you desire. No matter what, I'm always going to add caramelized onions; they're brightly peppered and add a whole 'nother level of flavor here.
This was genuinely one of the best meals I've eaten all year. I know, it's not the highest bar for 2020, but it would stand up to scrutiny anytime. It might even be material for my upcoming birthday "party" for one. Given the depth and breadth of options in this fine city, that's high praise.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 21, 2020
Delightful spot that's tucked away from...well, everything!
We decided to sit outside on a humid evening (it had rained that day) and were eaten alive by mosquitos (not their fault), so if you are planning on enjoying your pizza al fresco, be sure to bring bug spray! The patio is super spacious and can handle larger groups or if you're a two top you won't feel cramped.
Service was on top of it and friendly and all safety protocols were accounted for.
We came for quality pizza and salad and that is just what we got. Good char to dough ratio on the pizzas...a little too thin in the middle to hold up some of the heavier toppings, but not the end of the world. Also, the Caesar comes with anchovies on top. They truly are an eyesore, so if you're not into them, be sure to ask for them to be omitted.
Enjoyed a couple beverages, too (sparkling sangria and glass of red wine).Helpful 27Thanks 0Love this 22Oh no 0 - Rachel O.Round Rock, TX7672168May 8, 2021
The service at this place is phenomenal (Cullen was very attentive. He seemed to be the only waiter when we were there). Cane Rosso Neapolitan style pizzas are thin-crust, but are most definitely not New York style. The covered outdoor seating area was nice. I was pleasantly surprised they were still maintaining social distancing guidelines.
We ordered the MEATBALLS with ground chuck and pork, Italian herbs, tomato and cheese. The flavor was good, but we were a little disappointed that it was cold.
The CAPRESE CHOP with baby heirloom tomatoes, housemade mozzarella, arugula, basil, red onion, pesto and balsamic was fresh.
The MARGHERITA PIZZA was really good, but we felt that it need a little bit more basil. We shared the pizza and even had a few slices leftover.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 3, 2021
Nice outdoor patio, offering both a completely outdoor seating area and outdoor but covered option.
Their frose was pretty nice, refreshing on a warm day. It looks like they also have a decent variety of cocktails as well as draft beers.
I think this place really stands out for their pizzas, they all smelled great going by, we chose the old bastard which is unique for the habanero honey sauce on it. A little on the top sweet side of things, perhaps there was a little much bacon jam, otherwise crust, cheese everything else was good!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Will T.Royal Oak, MI359208374May 7, 2021
Absolutely loved the Roni One pizza ! We added caramelized onions which was the perfect touch The bacon marmalade was thicc, smoky, sweet, and had a small kick! 5/5
We also had the calamari, but it was quite chewy and dry. The side of marinara was tasty and fragrant.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lauren V.Austin, TX316191121Oct 14, 2020
Alright I'm kind of obsessed with this place, my review encompasses 2 diff visits.
Appetizers: had brussel sprouts (a must order) also tried their bruschetta and unfortunately didn't care for that
Pizza: I would classify this as Napolitana style. Excellent flavors. I tried multiple diff ones but the Zoli is my favorite: sausage, hot sopressata, and mozzarella. Also liked the jabroni!
Salad: love that their salads are chopped, had the house, so good.
Lastly if you don't save room for a dessert pizza, you're doing yourself a disservice!!!!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Jul 29, 2019
Bark-bark, bark!
Today my hoomans brought me to a fun patio where I was given all the ice chunks I wanted. I love ice! Today is my favorite day!
A nice lady scratched me behind my ears and every time she came back she'd pat me on the head. I love her! Today is my favorite day!
Hoomans got fried squishy things called "calamari." They must have liked it because it did not last long. They also got a salad with cheese, nuts and dried cherries. GOOD THING THEY AREN'T STUPID RAISINS? AMIRITE? Those things are NOT GOOD FOR YOU.
They also got some funny smelling golden fizzy drink which seemed to make them giggle. Maybe I'll get more belly rubs! Today is my favorite day!
The nice lady brought me a frozen peanut butter treat. I licked the container dry and the DESTROYED THE CONTAINER! Today is my favorite day!
Then I got to nap while hoomans ate a square pizza with meatballs and a round pizza called the "cane rosso." I'm a cane bianca!
Daddy liked the crispy crunch of the Sicilian pizza. Second only to that Detroit pizza place. Mommy prefers the sausage and chewy crust of the cane rosso. Did I tell you that I'm an Italian dog?
They complained about ordering too much food. I offered to help but was not taken up on my offer. My ear itches.
Ruff-ruff! Tell your hoomans that this is the place to be. There might even be some fun things to eat!
I hope we come back soon.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0
