While some little piggys go to market, we prefer when they come straight to CAMPO! We serve authentic rustic cuisine and like to mix it up our menu daily based on what is seasonal and available. Campo roughly translated means "gathering place" in Italian and that's what we strive to be, a neighborhood place where folks can come together to eat, greet and enjoy great food. So come, gather, eat and enjoy. Salute!

I've been here a few times since they've opened and have always had a great experience. Most recently, April 15 for dinner.
We had reservations for a group of 7 of us and they were ready for us when we arrived. We had a great waiter, Dominic and he was jovial and interacted well with our group. He joked with us and didn't seem distracted and wanting to get away from our rambunctious group
Drinks were brought promptly. Food was brought out hot and altogether, so no one had to wait while others ate. We were well taken care of and had a great time.
I ordered the "Pasta Your way" and got Gnocchi, Alfredo and Meatballs. The Gnocchi and alfredo were 10/10. The Meatballs, not so much. They seemed lacking in spice and flavor, but they were cooked well.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Nov 28, 2021Updated review
Campo has certainly had its up and downs the last several years.
I know I haven't ate there in over two years. But recently on a Sunday afternoon we were looking for a lunch spot and decided to give a try. Oddly they don't open until 1pm on Sundays, but as luck had it it was 1:05.
On the weekend they offer bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's for $25. I recently discovered a cocktail called Caipiroska, and it was quite delicious at Campo for $12.
We tried a range of items. The kale salad with egg, ask for it poached you won't be disappointed, was a huge portion of kale and parmigiana cheese. Delicious. The fresh burrata appetizer was creamy and fantastic. The Bucatini Carbonara was packed with cheesy devineness. Unfortunately I didn't order, not wanting to be disappointed, but kept helping Angie eat hers. This maybe my new go to spot in Reno for this dish. The BTLA pizza looked good, plenty of toppings and a perfect crust.
In warmer weather they have a fabulous large patio that overlooks the Truckee River.
Very limited street parking. There's a parking garage a block north. The waitress was great about asking if we needed parking validated. Check hours first and try the Caipiroska and Bucatini.Helpful 18Thanks 0Love this 17Oh no 0Sep 13, 2017Previous reviewSo much has changed and so much hasn't.
This biggest change is Chef David Holman taking over the kitchen a year ago. The stays the same - a fabulous location along the Truckee River with fantastic outdoor seating, serving Italian style food.
This summer after an Artown event a couple of friends and I had a nice dinner here. None of us had ate here in quite some time. Great cocktails, wonderful fresh focaccia bread, and quite the menu variety. My friend's wood fired pizza looked so delicious and was plenty for three meals. I ordered the risotto of the day- creamy, cheesy and enough for two meals for me.
Stop in and give Campo a try, also see if Jeremy can be your server.Mar 5, 2014Previous reviewDisappointed in the eggs Benedict over the weekend. Egg over cooked. Hollandaise too thick. Shrimp risotto was good but didn't need the English muffin too. I seem to be impressed with Campos special events. But not regular service

I don't come here often but when I do I'm never disappointed. Food wise the bee sting pizza and lobster risotto are 10/10 delicious.
Ambiance is beautiful great for date night.
Staff is great, wish I didn't forget about this place I would come here more often.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 3692144Jan 7, 2022
I like Campo! They have pretty good food and a nice atmosphere. It's a little pricey but the food is definitely yummy!
I had the Riverwalk cocktail which was amazing. It has Hendrick's gin, St. Germaine, cucumber, and mint. My fiancé had a beer which he said was flat but he still enjoyed it.
The food was very good. I had the blackened halibut which was delightful. My fiancé had the burger which he really enjoyed.
The only thing that I didn't appreciate was that the chefs didn't wear masks :/Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 29, 2021
I came here in high hopes of finding my go to fresh pasta spot and for the most part it did not disappoint. I ordered their shrimp pasta. The good part, pasta and shrimp was perfectly cooked, the butter/wine sauce in it was flavorful and not thick tasting to the palette. To be honest, I thought the sauce would be on the greasier side and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't. The bad about this 26 dollar dish is that there were maybe 5 strands of noodles if that and maybe 3 med sized shrimp, that's it. I had to order a side of pasta to feel like I had a real serving.
This made me think back to the start of our meal. Initially we struggled with the decision of ordering a small or large Campo pizza for an appetizer and I'm glad we ordered the large otherwise I would of been hangry when my pasta dish showed up. The pizza was perfect!! I wished at the end of my meal that I would of just had one of those all by myself and had a beer and pizza night. Next time, I'll just go for the pizza.
Of course I had room for dessert, maybe that's the plan behind the small servings, idk. The recommendation was their Caramel Budino, this was grounded up Oreos on bottom, not a real crust, about 2 tablespoons of pudding ,a lot of salted caramel on top and topped with some fresh whipped cream. Not at all impressive, too much caramel sauce and not enough pudding. Not for 8 bucks.
The service was slow not very attentive, drinks came fast but not the food we had to ask for bread, appetizer plates, cheese and pepper flakes for pizza and so forth. The bottom of salt and pepper grinders were filthy with a caked on greasy film. After I scraped off bottom of pepper grinder I was reluctant to use it. It just threw me off. These few things are just not what I want to focus on when I'm out to a nice restaurant like this. I'm there for conversion and a great meal not to be asking for things that should just be on point. I wished that there was a manager waking around to ask how my meal was going and just make sure that things flowed right. Maybe next time.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 19, 2022
Fantastic!!! Went here for date night with my son and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The service was great and the food was wonderful. We started with the appetizer Burrata and it was AMAZING, then the tasty house salad, followed by the fabulous lobster & scallop risotto (me) and bolognese (my son). Superb!

Popped in for dinner on a Thursday at 7pm. We were able to be seated right away.
We ordered our food and asked that the pizza come out after our appetizers. Lo and behold the pizza hit the table well before one of our appetizers. Honestly this would have just been a funny blip of the wait staff hadn't begun asking if we wanted dessert while we were still eating our salads, pizza untouched. It made us feel like they wanted us out. The staff came by twice asking if we wanted to order more while we still had half a pizza and a bottle of wine on the table. We said no and before we could blink the check was on the table. If you're in the mood for a speedy meal, I guess this is the spot!!
I thought the pizza was ok. Their bee sting zinged between sweet and spicy in a way that could have been tempered if they had cooked the serranos in the honey. But that's a personal preference. The crispy pork was tasty but the Hawaiian vibes was a bit incongruous. Meatballs were fine. I think the kale salad was my favorite part of the meal (other than the company!).
The meal was good, not great, and the service was just too rushed for 4 stars.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Lauren,
Thank you so much for your time in writing a review for our restaurant. We strive to create a great experience for all our guests, and welcome all feedback both good and constructive to improve upon our service. I apologize that you felt rushed during your visit, that is certainly not what we had intended. I hope you will come back to see if it was just an off beat night for our staff. Thank you again for letting us know about your experience.

I've been wanting to come to Campo for months now, but it's always booked up weeks in advance! I snagged a Saturday evening reservation and was glad we had the option to sit inside with it being so hot & smokey- we'll have to come back and sit on the water next time when the air is a bit better.
Our waitress Donna was great!! She checked in with us right away and took our drink orders, a grilled pineapple mojito & Moscow mule and an order of the crispy pig parts. We ate some bread while we waited for our drinks & app, and it was delicious and a nice touch. We only had to wait a few minutes before everything arrived!!
The mojito was delicious and fresh, and very strong. The Moscow mule was traditional but delicious as well! The crispy pig parts were great- crispy on the outside and juicy and soft inside, and the sauce was strong and flavorful. Even the coleslaw underneath was packed with the flavor!
I ordered the lobster and scallop risotto and my partner got the campo pizza! Once again our food came really quickly!!
While there were only two scallops, the risotto was packed with lobster which I really appreciated!! The risotto was a wonderful texture, creamy and soft and flavored very well! The scallops were a little tough, but overall this didn't take away from the dish for me.
The campo pizza was simple but delicious- the large was a great amount to start at the restaurant and take a few pieces home for the next day! It's jam packed with meat and the crust is as crunchy as you'd hope!!
We finished the meal with the tiramisu, and this was the star of the dinner for me. The flavor was spot on, and the creamy layer on top wasn't too sweet but really brought the dish together.
All in all I was happy with the ambience, the service, and the food and we can't wait to come back and check out more things on the menu! I love how often the menu changes for seasonal items, to me that's a sign of a great restaurant.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Colleen H.Carlsbad, CA66103121Aug 21, 2021
Enjoyed a first visit last week for a birthday treat. I ordered create a pasta dish with their bolognese sauce, vegetables and a small extra bit of their alfredo sauce on the side.
It was THE BEST bolognese sauce I've ever had. More like tiny meatballs. And the sauce, truly, mouth watering delish.
My fellow guest tried their olive oil and garlic sauce on her spaghetti and it was really good, too.
I tried their house PInot Noir; very good. Servers were all working hard to please.
Surprised me with a most sweet dessert along with a happy birthday song.
Looked like a nice spot with patio outside looking over the city and Truckee river. We sat inside....cozy booths.
Nice lounge area, also.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
