Great sandwiches for an even better price. Sweetest staff ever! Totally worth checking out Café Aroma.
Made a pit stop here for lunch. We had luckily beat the late lunch crowd on Saturday afternoon. They have a mix of American and Vietnamese cuisine.
I shared half of the turkey club and roast beef sandwich with my friend. Both were the perfect size, quality ingredients, well toasted and really tasty! It also comes with a side, either fruit, Mac salad or potato salad. The Mac salad was ok, the sandwich was the star of the show.
The interior isn't great for groups bigger than 4. Overall, would totally recommend this place to anyone in the area.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 1318222336Feb 16, 2024Updated review10 check-ins
The new group of people are just as friendly as the previous people who made it through the pandemic in Manteca but have moved. There have been several owners since I've been in town almost ten years.
The VietNamese Iced Coffee is always the best you can find in town. The previous time I was here, I had them add a bit of white mocha, which was interesting.
I got the Shrimp Burger today, with fruit cocktail. It was pretty much perfect. Prices have changed a bit and I was a little surprised at the final total, but I will wait a while before another such purchase.
It's about 1.75 miles' walk to this restaurant. I wasn't feeling my best and one of the staff hurriedly cleared the staff table for me, so that I could sit. Later, someone was coughing and another person rushed water to that woman. When you go somewhere else, they look at such people and say to each other "I wish they'd stop coughing. They'd better not make me sick." or some such. These people care about people, though.
I hope they have great success!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you for sharing your experience, Have an awesome weekend
Jul 1, 2019Previous reviewIt's difficult to find VietNamese food out here, and even more difficult to find great VietNamese food here, especially if I start comparing to places in San Jose.
Within a few months, I've been to the three places in the area that serve VietNamese food and drink. This place is the latest of my visits. As with the other two places, I've been skeptical.
I entered and was cheerfully greeted. I wasn't sure what to expect, but saw a few menu boards with sandwiches and drinks. I was specifically looking for VietNamese food and VietNamese iced coffee.
I ordered the latter, in medium size. The price wasn't overly high, so I expected almost nothing except for ice.
It was a bit busy, so it took a while. From my seat, I could see my drink being made and I was pleased to see the drink being made as I hoped. (By the way, it may be necessary to clear and/or clean the tables. Someone had enjoyed a sandwich or two at the table where I sat, before I arrived.) The coffee was just right, and that was unexpected.
Having had most of my coffee, I decided to try a sandwich, hopefully, as good as I'd had in San Jose along Story Road. I was really looking forward to an egg and ham sandwich, but they didn't seem to have any VietNamese ham sandwiches. I mentioned it and they said that they could do it. The price was inexpensive, again.
It wasn't quite as busy by this time, so I got my sandwich a bit sooner than expected. It looked partly what I expected, with a banh mi style to it.
Truthfully, they didn't know what I was expecting, and I didn't know their way of doing things. The carrots had the sweetness that usually ends up in banh mi. I was also expecting scrambled egg, not fried egg, but things are rarely the same with sandwiches. It was good, even if it wasn't what I had in my memory. One note--if you haven't tried VietNamese bread, you should. I really don't care about bread, but this bread was as good as any of the best I've had, and that is usually the case with VietNamese bakeries and restaurants.
The service was great, except for the messy table. I must admit that the restroom needed some attention, but it wasn't a disaster. I'm sure I'll be returning to try a lot of the menu. - Nora C.Oakland, CA42174Jan 12, 2024
This shop is an absolute gem. Amazing Food!!
My husband and i stopped in before our Yosemite trip.
I got the House special and with an avocado shake. The yelp reviews are right again. The menu was customizable and i was told there is a secret menu. Does anyone know about this?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ku V.Stockton, CA06Apr 15, 2024

Excellent food at decent prices and big portions. A foot long banh mi for under $8 is a steal these days. The bread was fresh, toasted, and crusty - just as I like it. The small Thai tea had the authentic smoky flavor. I couldn't help but chug it down. The total with tip was under $14.
Café Aroma is a popular cute family- run restaurant serving a variety of sandwiches and Vietnamese dishes. This will be my go-to when I have a craving for banh mi.Helpful 3Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 0 - Kim M.CA, CA061Apr 25, 2024Updated review
I have the banh Mi and Vietnamese Ice Coffee. Ask for Mary to make you the Banh MI and Ice Coffee. The owners are super friendly and nice to their customers. I give them 1000% for excellent.

Had this place book marked for a while, with their limited hours I finally made it there today. Nice family run business, great selection of sandwiches including Banh Mi sandwiches.
We decided to give both a try and was impressed with the detail and attention in making the sandwiches, they weren't just tossed and everything was very fresh. They also don't skimp, there was lots of veggies & meat in our Banh Mi. It did take a good 10-15 min to get our sandwiches so plan for it or call in your order for pickup.
Got the Hot Torta Supreme with chicken and I normally like pesto but the flavor of red onions and pesto tasted off to me. Removed the red onions which were super fresh and plentiful and liked the taste better.
You can also order espresso drinks, Vietnamese coffee and boba drinks.
Prices good too, $20 which included a tip out the door for two large sandwiches. Both the Hubbs and I only ate half our sandwiches.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 16, 2023
One of my favorite places in Manteca! The workers here are so sweet and I love that it's a small family owned business. They do make everything fresh so be prepared to wait. I ordered a house cut combo sandwich and a large Vietnamese iced coffee. The sandwich was stacked with toppings and so tasty. The coffee was a bit sweet for my liking but once the ice melted it was perfect. Definitely a little gem and I'll be back to try their other drinks and sandwiches!

Great sandwich spot! My dad has been going to this place a few times. Decided to stop by here before lunch. Small cafe spot that offers a variety of sandwiches and boba drink to choose from. Like how their bread here tastes fresh and was not hard. Our order took about 10 to 15 min so calling ahead would be recommended. Sandwiches here are good for two to share. Our favorite sandwich to get is the house combination.
