I've driven by this place numerous times. I went on their website and noticed the 7day free trial. I called the gym to get more info and the person that answered it said I can stop by tomorrow and ask for (Fiona)Courtney. I walk in and receive nasty looks. I asked for Courtney and she says "yes, I'm Courtney." No smile. I explained to her I was the one who called inquiring the day prior so then she sits me down and gives me prices. I read yelp reviews prior but still wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. I told her I don't want to sign on for 3 years and sign a contract. She asked me why have you every had a gym membership? I said Lucille Roberts and NY Sports Club in NYC and my brother has a personal training/ body building coaching business in VA Beach called DelCarmenFit. She was very rude in tone. I asked for the no contract option and she told me the price, I then started filling out the contract but you had to cancel at least a month prior or they'll continuously charge you. I used to pay month to month at other gyms up north. I told her I'm really interested in joining and I saw the free 7 day pass and she said okay. She gave me a quick tour because its so small. There aren't showers or changing rooms, just a small bathroom. What drew me in was the childcare as I work from home and prefer to have my kids nearby, so as she showed me the childcare room I asked her "kids are watched in here?" because it was empty and she responds "it is childcare!" I asked because there were no kids in there or any staff, but instead of letting me know the hours she gave me a nasty answer. As we walked out I said so can I start my free trial tomorrow and I confirmed with her its 7days and with a straight face and nasty tone she said yes, 7 consecutive days. Oh, I forgot to add that when I told her I'd rather not do the month to month and wait until the free trial is up to sign a contract if I was interested. Fiona-Courtney slowly takes the contract lifts it up and proceeds to slowly and dramatically rip the contract in front of me... There were so many red flags.. As I walked out with my kids before the door completely shut she screamed out "Arrgghh". I'm like whatever, she's mad she didn't get a sale, but I wont take it to heart. My gut told me not to go back, but I got a call from a staff member to pick up my 7day pass. I went in with my daughter and saw Courtney and said Hi, I'd like to start my 7day trial and she looks me dead in the eyes and says we don't do7days, I said but I saw it on your website which was quickly removed. I should of replayed the message left on my voicemail. She said we only do 3, which was a lie but I didn't want to get mad so to dissolve it I said let me just join so I can start today. She got up and gave me a smile for the first time. I dropped my daughter off in childcare and took a spinning class. .I just brushed off her nastiness and lies. I would notice her being very rude and nasty. I would go in there and look her dead in the eyes smile and no smile back or hello. I would hear her talk about me to her staff. I was so tired of her nastiness that I went on Yelp and left a review.I had left 1 negative review here before but deleted after a few days. I went back and there was a man managing the front. I asked him are you the manager or personal trainer he tells me "I'll be whatever you want me to be." I took my 2 kids and left. Days later I went back and Courtney greets me and says if there is anything wrong please speak to me I saw your yelp review. I said I deleted it, when I walk to childcare to pick up my daughter she and her staff stood in front of the door, I think it was her cowardly way to intimidate me, which didn't work. I brought my son in a couple times when school was closed. My son was looking at the products she has up against the wall and she would stare hard at him and even told her staff to watch him. Why would a 9yr old boy steal exercise supplements? He gets whatever he wants from me. The 2nd time she did it made me mad. I left Friday and went in Monday with the goal to do some quick strength training. I swipe my card and she says hi good morning, I ignore her and she said hi again aggressively and staring at me rudely because she had her staff there as if I had to bow down to her. I asked her why she stares at my son as if he's going to steal. By this time I was fed up with the negativity, I raised my voice at her, once again she says more lies. I drop my daughter off at childcare and she's saying FAT out loud, meanwhile she's bigger then me and on my worst days...never-mind. I go there wearing mens shirts so she assumed I was fat underneath. The old lady staff member is her side kick and does Fiona's dirty work. I've smiled at her with dirty looks in return. LIES,GOSSIP, & RUDENESS- Read the reviews even the hidden ones! What a coincidence:D After a few months I Won't be back.. Putting a stop on my card. ;)

It was handwritten onto my contract that I could cancel after one year with a $50 penalty. When I called to cancel, they "didn't have" the original. I waited out the second year, tried to cancel and all of a sudden they had a copy, but NOW it was for a three year contract.
Almost a year into the contract, I received an extra charge. Turns out they "should" have been charging sales tax. Instead of eating THEIR mistake, they had backcharged me for the duration of the contract. Bad business. The customer service is terrible, the hours aren't great.
The only reason this place stays in business is because they make money by scamming their members.
RUN far, and fast to any other gym.

What a scam,they check boxes on there contracts after you sign making a one year membership three years.

I absolutely love this gym!!!! Love the classes that's offered the instructors really push you get you motivated plus at this gym all women all sizes - all ages - wonderful variety of ladies Thrilled that Oxygen Fitness For Her is here in Pompano Beach

I do not recommend signing up for this gym. The classes are good, but the management are very rude and deceitful in the way they do business. When I signed up Carmen assured me that my membership could be canceled at any time with a 30 day notice, however when I tried to cancel she told me they sign only 3 yr contracts and I didn't have the option to cancel! They continue to try to charge me every month. After having issues with this I went in and asked for a copy of my cancellation form, and the paper I signed they had visibly gone back and scribbled over the dates written and put later dates trying to say that's what I wrote and we signed originally.
It's unfortunate that they are so dishonest because I think this gym has potential to do well, but you cannot grow your business by lying to your customers.

People were very rude and unwelcoming. Made me feel like I shouldn't have come in at all! Thankfully I declined the membership as I felt uncomfortable because two of my friends have since been poorly treated by Kourtney & her staff. Not a good way to do business!!

Have since had 5 phone calls inviting me back, which is bizarre to me, but no thank you. I'd rather pay extra for another gym that's run professionally. And doesn't try to make larger women feel unwelcome!! I've since lost 35lbs - no thanks to this gym!

Feel the same as everyone else..I made them write it down on the contract to cancel with thirty days notice. They gave me attitude but they canceled but charged me last month and 30.oo $ They do not treat people with respect. horrible business

I used to really enjoy my membership, and I am always supportive of strong female business owners. That said, one by one my favorite classes and instructors disappeared. Then Carmen took over management and it was the worst customer service experience. The hours of operation are inconvenient and the gym is a ghost town. Its not worth the money and its been an uphill battle to cancel my membership. I suggest looking elsewhere.

Stay far away from this gym. You will get locked into a 3 year contract with NO way of getting out of it. There are lots of other gyms in the area...go to ANY of them instead of Oxygen. All these negative reviews are no coincidence.

The staff is rude and their hours suck.
