Two incredible restaurants in one! Toarmina's Pizza has been making our own sauce and dough and grinding our own cheese right in our store for over 30 years! Burrito Joint has been cooking fresh meats and cutting fresh veggies every day for close to 10 years! You deserve QUALITY, you deserve to be treated GREAT!

One of the top local small owned food spots in Ann Arbor. Right off Packard these guys'll definitely get you good food for super reasonable prices. One of my regular got to places in south uni area Ann Arbor

I was visiting from out of the area and dined here on a rainy day on June 7, 2015 (it's a small restaurant with just one table inside for dining in, as I recall). But this review is not about that experience, but about their text club. I must have signed up for their text club in their store or online that day while visiting to get any specials they had, but they never texted me, which was fine. In fact, they hadn't texted me at all until late last year in 2018, when they did once. I didn't want it, but ignored it at the time, as I was busy.
But just today, I received a second text from them, pictured below, but with no instructions on how to opt out. I felt captive to them, in that I would have no choice but to keep getting their unwanted marketing. (A few email spammers did this to me, and it drove me crazy. I even had to change my email once because they were sending hundreds of spam messages per day.) Either that, or change my number or block them. So I did further research, and learned this is in violation of the requirements of the Cellular Telephone Industries Association (CTIA), which requires opt-out instructions to be included in the text, which were clearly not (see http://blog.textit.in/ensuring-your-sms-messaging-service-complies-with-fcc-regulations-tcpa for details of the requirements).
Sure, I could have called them or texted them back perhaps (if that phone number was a monitored number), but the whole point of the aforementioned requirements is I shouldn't have to do that, and there was no guarantee that the texts would have stopped, depending on their marketer or employee I talked to. I didn't want to take the chance of getting involved in an ongoing saga. Opting out should be quick and easy. I shouldn't have to expend any effort or time whatsoever in doing this. In the end, I just blocked the phone number. I'm disappointed, as they had good pizza and customer service in my one and only store visit in 2015. You think they would know better.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Stephanie! When customers initially join the text program they receive a text with opt out instructions. If you did not in 2015 we are very sorry that it didn't go through but I assure you it is part of the welcome message.
If you would like to opt out simply respond "stop"
Thanks! - Tanner V.Troy, NY21724Jun 15, 2021
Stopped here for their birthday special ($3.99 for a 12" pie--same price as when they opened!) and couldn't have been happier. The sauce was great, especially if you like a sweeter side, and the cheese was melty-good. The workers inside the small lobby area were so kind and responsive, and we checked out their pizza-eating contest wall of fame (infamy?) while we waited, having a laugh at the long list of hopefuls who didn't quite make it. Great local find! :)

I had driven past Toarmina's countless times, dismissing it, thinking "What type of pizza could possibly come out of a space shared by a Burrito Joint?!" I guessed, probably not a very good one. How wrong I was!
I stopped in on a whim one evening, turning into their small lot when the convenience spoke more to my hunger than any previous argument that I had made to keep driving past the storefront. I ordered a pizza to-go, which I could watch being prepared through the counter window.
Time and again, the pizzas produced by Toarmina's are stellar! Great tasting crust with a springy texture, bold sauce, and LOADS of cheese that give the pizza a delightful stretch with every bite. The toppings are also piled on with a generous hand, and are of superior quality. The toasted sandwiches are also very good! The 24 inch pizza is a novelty, but as tasty as any other pie, and I will definitely be ordering a couple of those monsters come tailgate season.Helpful 13Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0Business owner information

My favorite pizza in this neighborhood! Not gourmet, but a big step up from other chain pizza restaurants around here.

In this time of quarantine who better to get take out from is a pizza place. Toarmina's is right down the street and their pizza is terrific. We ordered an Hawaiian Pizza (cheese, ham, bacon, pineapple). They said ready in 20 minutes for pickup or an hour for delivery. I jumped in the car and got there with time to spare. The workers were in the back room and hopefully were all in the same family because they were unprotected. I waited for only about 5 minutes before the pizza was ready (a safe distance from the work room) and headed home with dinner. The pizza was great and I blew up my diet but it was worth it. If you are super worried about the pandemic it would probably scare you a little but the pizza was supurb.

It's difficult for me to express my resent for this place in a written language. There are times in life when you are so disgusted you cannot even react. Every single encounter I had with this "joint" made me wish I was back in "simpler" times, on the elementary school bus where I shamefully was hiding the fact that I had just vomited my morning instant oatmeal. This is a two tiered review to break down my hatred for this synthetic hellhole of an Italian-Mexican dive.
When I was an idealistic bright eyed bushy tailed U of M student (prior to become a self-depreciative post-grad asshole) Burrito Joint provided the burritos for the cafes at the UGLI and the Dude. The only way to give justice to this burrito review is to emphasize the little to no seasoning that is prevalent in all its components. If you enjoy bland frijoles, instant rice and garbage tortillas, treat yourself with this nonsense.
I'll never forget the day when we had a few too many Friday Beers and old Bryce started re-living his wrestling days. The labatts were going down faster than the Jappy ladies at Rick's after sucking down a sharkbowl with the gals and hearing the intro to "Closer" by The Chainsmokers. We decided to give Toarmina's a chance for two reasons: the low prices and its close proximity to the Packard premises. We walked into the restaurant, put in an order for a large pizza and an order of "bacon bread" and waited for the food. All of the sudden old Bryce double crossed brother Michael. Next thing we knew brother Michael and old Bryce were rolling on the floor trying to squeeze the life out of each other's souls. The cook walked out, looked me in the eye, looked down at Brother Michael and proceeded to give a devastating body blow to old Bryce with his left foot. At first, the lads and I were distraught, but we quickly determined that was a justified response for fighting on restaurant grounds.
We grabbed our pizza and pig bread and walked across the street to eat and have a nightcap on the porch. I ate two slices of pizza and commenced my existential crisis. The crust tasted like cardboard coated with cornmeal and a can of old tomato paste covering the surface. The mozzarella cheese tasted like it was sitting in the glove box of Big Time Tommy's Coup de Ville for 6 summer days. The pepperoni tasted similar to a sliced up ball park frank.
The bacon bread was a pile of dough with a few Hormel bacon bits sprinkled on top. It was the culinary arts equivalent of a 6 year old's elbow macaroni arts and crafts project. Sad!
Please just don't go here.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Henry E.Ann Arbor, MI01Jun 30, 2020
In my opinion, this is the ideal round pizza. The crust is perfectly chewy, the sauce is delicious, and the cheese is thick, but not overpowering. They cook it slightly well done, making the pepperoni crispy, which is great. On top of that, the price is very reasonable. Compare this pizza to the other places in the neighborhood like domino's and pizza by the slice or something, and this is the clear winner. I don't have a yelp account because this is my first time reviewing something. I however felt compelled to express my delight with this pizza.
P.S. The garlic butter crust is out of this worldHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
