This place is conveniently located and gives good haircuts. My only complaint is that the haircuts are not quick, but my hair stylist is taking her time to make my hair cut perfect, I am fine with that!
Both times I've been here (4-5pm), there was little to no line which is GREAT! Friendly chatting and an interactive hair cut. Definitely a place to come back to!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mary Kay V.Tampa, FL09May 24, 2018
Jenny is amazing! Did a beautiful job on my hair and nails. The shop is conveniently located, warm and friendly. I'm visiting from Florida and will definitely come back on my next SFO trip!

This place is a joke. They tried to hustle my daughter, on the day of her prom too. They did a terrible job painting her nails and then had the nerve to charge her $75 for a gel fill, two broken nails and a pedicure! She was too shy to say anything about the paint job. But I sure wasn't. They conveniently didn't have a price list posted and didn't have any copies. I'm ashamed with them for trying to get over on my daughter and the fact that they did such a poor job.

I've lived in the Bay Area for 10 years and I have FINALLY found my go-to hair salon in the Bay! Hallelujah!
Quick story time: for the first 5 years or so, I would only get my haircut in Sacramento, where my parents live. After college, it was harder for me to go up long enough to fit in a cut so I started venturing around the Bay, sometimes visiting different places at least twice to get a better idea of how they are.
I've gone to Jenny 3 times in the past 2 years and she always does exactly what I want, and for a decent price! I've gone really short, to shoulder length and my latest cut that I got this past weekend was to layer my hair since I'm trying to grow it up. I've loved all 3 haircuts.
Plus, Jenny is very personable. She remembered me even though I had only gone 2 other times before this past weekend. She talks just enough but not too much and she always asks before, during, and after your thoughts on your haircut to make sure you are getting what you want.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Roger A.Burlingame, CA2411790181Aug 17, 2009
I'm a budget hair cut person.
Found this place just based on price, $16 bucks.
But Jenny (owner) is very nice and listens to what you want.
They have massage chairs too. Jenny lets me sit there for as long as I want.
I really enjoy this place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - I Y.San Diego, CA01313Oct 14, 2017
Jenny, the owner, is attentive and does a great job. She's careful to get lots of feedback from customers, not rushing the process. Prices are competitive.

When it came time to pay I handed over my debit card and, in the time it took me to get up and walk over to the register, I saw that the owner swiped my card twice. She showed me two receipts and said there was an issue with my card and asked for another form of payment. I told her there shouldn't be an issue but she doubted me. I didn't have enough cash on hand so I paid with my credit card (not something I prefer to do). I then thought to show her my mobile bank statement and she could clearly see that my debit was charged twice. I asked her to please cancel these pending transactions before they go through. She said she didn't have her bank's number on hand (doubtful) and promised me that when they go through, she would give me a call and pay me in cash if I return in person to the salon later in the week to pick it up. I immediately called my bank to inform them of the mistake and see if they could fix it, since it isn't convenient for me to return later in the week. I had my bank speak with the owner. It was determined that she could not cancel the transaction for whatever reason and the bank assured me that they would cover me if she doesn't follow through on her word. After hanging up, the owner further reassured me that she would give me my money back once it goes through, so long as I return to pick it up in person. It was then she admitted that the reason she doesn't want to cancel the transaction is because her bank would charge her a fee to do so. This upset me because I feel like she should pay for her mistake and not put her own needs before a customer's. I ended up clearing the situation with my bank the next day and they were able to take care of me.
I walked away $97 poorer, with a mediocre set of gel nails and the urge to write my first Yelp review.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nate D.Berkeley, CA072Apr 19, 2014Updated review

I'm still coming here since 2009 for the best haircut on the peninsula! Jenny, the owner has a great eye and will ensure that every strand of hair is perfectly placed. Give this place a try and I know you'll be very happy.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 19, 2009Previous reviewI found compelled to right a review after having such positive experiences at Burlingame Hair -- a fantastic place to get a haircut, the best I've received after getting haircuts all over Burlingame and Millbrae. For only $19, this place can't be beat. Though, don't let the price fool you, Jenny (the owner) is more talented and thorough than you can believe. As a point of comparison, I've happily paid $50+ for a man's haircut in Burlingame and am yet to be as impressed as I am with this place. Jenny has a great eye and pays more attention to to detail that i've ever seen in a stylist (they'll happily spend 30+ minutes making sure every hair is the right length and perfectly blended). And if you are out there paying $12 at supercuts for crooked sideburns (as i have done many times), all i can say is pay the extra few dollars for a much better, more professional, hip haircut. And if you are getting $60 haircuts, give them and a try and think you'll be very happy.
