Bunz Gourmet Burgers

This visit was from May 2022 - Bunz truck was at Smog City brewing. My reviews are sometimes very behind but this is a real review. Adding this note since I just got a comment that they closed in December 2022.

Such a disappointment! We saw they had great reviews and decided to track down their truck and give them a try. The menu sounds/reads great but the burgers ended up being meh. What's the use of all the crazy toppings when the foundation, the burger patty itself is mediocre?

Finally! I have been searching for a place that has good fries and oion rings, and now I've found it:) plus, they also have some tasty fried pickles!!!

I was checking out Cabrillo Beach with my son, and Bunz Gourmet Burgers happened to be parked in front of the aquarium as we were thinking about lunch.

My son ordered the Paradise burger, and I had the Shroom burger with added Jalapeños. There were two groups waiting for their orders when we walked up to the truck. It took a bit before they even took our order, and at that point we knew it would take a while for the food to be ready, too. We weren't in a hurry, so we decided to place the order anyway.

The burgers were great. Mine was juicy, had a nice kick to it, and the fries were really good. The patty in my son's burger was a bit dry, but his only complaint was that the burger was too big for him to finish.

Bomb gourmet burgers in the hood. BIPOC owned and ran. Great flavored burgers and buns. Definitely one of my favorite burger joints in the South Bay.

I may be going in and out of consciousness as I write this review because this burger was MASSIVE!!! We're coming to the end of our 9 day Cali vacation and wanted to get a nice burger to cap it off. My family had been talking about Bunz Gourmet Burgers and so we made the trek to San Pedro. We went to the truck on 6th st in front of The Coastline Shop. My wife ordered the Long Shoreman salmon burger, both boys ordered the Bac & Mac burger, and I ordered the Bac & Mac w/bbq sauce. It took about 20 minutes to prepare, and when they placed the burgers in the window I realized we'd made an error in judgement. We should have shared 1 or 2 of these instead of ordering 4!

Mac & Bac Burger - 5 out of 5! Juicy, flavorful, and huge! The Mac n cheese was creamy, the burger was seasoned perfectly, and the bbq sauce added a nice tanginess.

Long Shoreman - 5 out of 5 - The salmon burger was amazing! She got it on the onion bun & had some of the garlic mayo which added a nice touch. Then the salmon was moist and flavorful.

Fries - 4 out of 5 - Seasoned really well and excellent taste. They were really good; not life changing but good.

This is a must-go if you're in southern Cali. Just be sure to bring your fat pants.

Make sure to check your orders. I went to the food truck for the first time today. I got the Brunch Burger. It says it comes with a fried egg, avocado, Mayo, seasoned tomato and cheddar cheese...
However when I got my burger it had no avocado and for some reason it had mustard. I didn't ask for mustard and I didn't say no avocado. So when I opened up my tray to see how my burger was, it sucked big time. Wish I had the full brunch burger experience.

I had the Texas burger today when they showed up at the City of Glendale.
Outstanding burger and good fries. The guys were great, and I had nice conversation with One of the owners. Check them out you wont be disappointed. Its was for sure one of the best burgers I have had!

My son has been dying to come here so I surprised him one day. Menu is pretty big and the burgers all come with fries. I had a Pedro burger lettuce wrapped and some had a regular cheeseburger. Everything is cooked to order so it is going to take a while and the price is a little steep but this is not a McDonald's burger. My son couldn't even finish his burger it was so big. Perfectly cooked and juicy. Wasn't really a fan of the onion rings but luckily we had my sons fries.

Pretty small inside, but they have patio seating as well. A good place to come when you want an over the top burger that is going to completely satisfy your hunger.

The worst customer service! They should smile a little.. everyone is grumpy and rude, no customer service at all. And they're super slow- like literally they move in slow motion. The burger was the worst one I've had. Super greasy! The bun, fries, everything is greasy!!!!
Updated: You guys responding with such sarcasm only makes it worse. It was the WORST food truck experience. That woman who takes orders, she needs to be fired!!! We came to enjoy the Disney event last night, and she ruined it. Hope no event hires you ever. Greasy burger made me sick! I wish I went with the pizza.

Got "the bun shroom" the burger bun is soggy and greasy but the burger patty itself was "well done" so it was a tad bland but also super greasy but not dry? The entire thing was falling apart, the bun was a soggy mess. The tomato's were hard and sour so very underripe tomato's. Mushrooms were sliced in strips which made them thick and fall out of the burger, too much Mayo most likely made the bun soggy as well and not enough onions..

Fries are good but way too salty. I even noted for my pick up order prior for no salt on the fries yet it was was still extremely salty???

Overall not really worth the price for what you pay for. The cost should be half the price of what they're charging. Overpriced burgers.
