Love this place. My sister-in-law came down from maine and its places like this that make her and my brother want to relocate to boston. They carry this turkish juice that I love in addition to all sorts of other pan-continental products. They also sell hookah paraphernalia. Only downside is that I am waiting outside for them to open in the cold.
I wrote the above review over a year ago and forgot to post. I hope they're still around and awesome!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Julia M.New York, NY29243Jan 25, 2009First to Review
Brighton Supermarket went in not long ago where the video store used to be. I haven't been in yet, but it looks like the inside got some renovating, and I've seen that they have fresh produce (no idea how good it is). It's great that there's a small grocery store basically across the street from me in case I ever need something and don't want to drive to Stop and Shop!

I moved into the neighborhood 15 months ago, and this was one of the first places I discovered that made me feel like I was part of the neighborhood.
Anyway, they sell a bit of everything, from produce, fresh Indian sweets and cell phones to homeopathic teas, household soaps and even a little hardware section.
I go there for organic milk, Ben & Jerry's, and fresh limes and hot green 'mirch' peppers. They carry all the Indian/Pakistani spices I need, except curry leaves, judging from the review above.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Adam B.Brooklyn, NY2301Sep 15, 2010
Decent selection of dried spices and ready-make Indian food products. But the guy at the register at first said he didn't know what curry leaf was, and then tried to convince me that dried bay leaves were "the same" as curry leaf. Ugh.

I just went in today for the first time in a couple months. I hadn't gone because i previously thought it seemed a bit grungy. It is under new management and the owner is a very sweet guy. He is bring in fresh food for the deli and has cleaned the place up. I will definitely be back.
