Brews & Brats

Brews and Brats was always highly popular with locals and visitors. Everytime I would walk down B Street the inside was full, people were drinking their beers inside and out and just having a good time. It was one of Hayward's money makers in my opinion. However B Street is seeing a wave of closures lately being Brews and Brats the latest to close.

If you were a regular of Brews and Brats and are looking for similar good times, Bistro down the street off Main and B may be for you as there are always people packed inside the bar inside and outside and sometimes they have music in there as well.

Hopefully they can relocate elsewhere to continue in their success. I wish them the best of luck.

Second time coming so I decided to finally write a review. As you can imagine from the title yes brews and brats is what they specialize in.

In this case we got the street dog, the house brat, lumpia, garlic fries and sweet potato fries as well. Oh and of course some drinks.

Food is good and the beers are as well. Perfect place to have some good eats and drinks on a warm Saturday!

So the last time i had their smoked bbq ribs I loved them. Tonight they were/are incredibly dry. Downside to entirely take out - I cant even remedy this.

Haven't liked their sides. I have tried fries and their warm potato salad and I haven't liked either.

Went here o see Curella. Very scary/dark movie. Not for children.
We went Neal to door my daughter had been wanting to go.
Walked in the bartender was so nice. She complimented my daughter's braids good vibes.
I been wanting bacon and asparagus and they had them. No drink for me I have to work. My stomach killed me from the 4th. My daughter bought a margarita for herself! We will see when the food gets here!

Ok they ran out of my food 40 min. Later to tell us ugh! He was very nice but. Now we ready to go more min. For a refund! Not happy. Must deduct stars now!
So the man that was extremely nice told us that the money had been credited. After we have waited all that time and so we left the money is not credited I am extremely upset yes it's eight dollars which is eight dollars of my daughters money and you guys should've credit it so it's not credited we're out of a dollars just a horrible experience I know you guys are busy but you see you standing there you know that you should be creating your money since you don't have the food and I'm very upset so when me and my coworkers come there of course not because I was plan I'll bring the whole crew because the customer service you guys are nice but you don't handle the business correctly thanks but no thanks you guys Owe us money!

Nice place for a date with co-workers, friends, or couples. Great music and the lady bartender is the bomb.com.

I would definitely return.

Came here while wandering and exploring Hayward.
The bar is clean and doesn't have any musty or yeasty smell like some places do.
I like the collection of tap handles that they've started on their walls, pretty cool to look at for true beer lovers.

It's a full service bar that serves liquor as well, with some great options in that arena.

Didn't have a chance to eat here but judging by the rest of my experience, I'm almost certain the food wouldn't disappoint.

Had a Hefeweizen and it was pretty tasty. Will come again

Really chill place to grab a quick drink. I was bored one night and asked my boyfriend if he was down to grab something from here, and we ended up venturing out. We had some of the beers on tap and were ready to order some food but got informed that the kitchen was closed (so sad because we were actually looking forward to some of the snacks they had on the menu)! The beer was cool, the vibes were nice... up until I noticed a trash can behind me being flung slightly because some guys were getting riled up and ready to fight. Other than that, my boyfriend and I enjoyed this quaint little spot to grab drinks.

This is my favorite spot to drink beer and watch sports in downtown Hayward. Their extensive beer selection is constantly rotating. Beers are fairly priced, majority around $7.

Bartenders are real nice about letting you sample before buying. Service is good. They don't just stand behind the bar the whole time. They walk around the whole place to clear glasses and take orders as well.

Only drawback is the food. Had their brats twice now with some friends. None of us were impressed. Recently got the sampler platter that came with tri tip, brisket, shredded pork, 2 bones pork ribs, a brat of choice, potato salad, and BBQ baked beans. Didn't change our opinion. All were just ok

Overall, great place to grab some fairly priced craft beers and watch sports. It's not a big place. The music inside is pretty loud, but they have an outdoor area (with heat lamps) as well where you can have some conversation. They have happy hour Mon-Fri 3-6 pm, $5 select beers

Pretty good food - service is just ok. Ordered at the bar because he said it would be quicker than waiting for someone to come out and take our order - ok that's weird.

Food was ok - bbq sandwich, greasy spoon type of stuff. This is one of the few places to eat. Not a lot of choice in Hayward.

Nice spot.
Grab a seat at the tables outside. Order a few drinks. Female bartender is great and makes good cocktails. Enjoy the fresh air and music. Crowds aren't pretentious. Just totally chill.
