Although I am not a fan of "beer" the craft beers here were very unique and delicious. My son ordered a couple of great drinks one of which was a sour beer. Sour like sour patch kids. It was delicious. I would totally drink one if my stomach could handle it. He also ordered a beer that was stored or aged in an chardonnay oak barrel. Now we are talking. I beer that tastes like wine. My son is truly a wine drinker so these beers are his new thing down at the Beach.

We heard BrewCo could be closing and that an extension was crafted so the business could stay open. Huzzah! However this came about, thank the heavens!
Great beers on tap - you can make your own sampler flight with any 4 beers!
Great view of the pier and ocean.
Wonderful place to watch the games.
Kids love the kids meals.

I liked it. Good place to grab a bite in Manhattan Beach. Great location. Literally steps from the beach. Decent amount of seating inside but spacing is a little tight. TVs over the bar to watch a game. It's a good spot for small groups. I liked the open front window. You get a nice little breeze every now and then. The food is good sports bar food. They got pizza, burgers, and tacos. They also have a decent selection of beers. We got the halibut tacos and spicy Maui pizza. They were pretty good.
Service was good. Friendly staff. There's street meter parking but you might have to walk a block or two.Helpful 22Thanks 2Love this 15Oh no 1 - 58147248Sep 4, 2023
I haven't been to Manhattan Beach often, so we weren't sure where to go. We decided on this place and were seated right away at a table overlooking the sidewalk and I could see the beach. Great view!
My favorite thing to try when I go to the beach is fish and chips, it's becoming my go-to. Brewco's was so delicious and did not disappoint! Perfectly deep-fried cod, served with both tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. The fries were good too, fried and salted perfectly where the outside is crisp and the inside is soft and fluffy.
My only critique was we had to ask for flatware and napkins. Hostess seemed to forget those. Our waitress was great though, all around a good experience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Dorothy,
We appreciate your 5-star review from your previous visit at Brewco. Our fish and chips are known to be one of our popular menu items. It makes us proud as an establishment that you enjoyed your time while dining with us. We hope to see you again soon. - Aaron C.Hermosa Beach, CA03Jan 28, 2024
Welcome to the worst place on earth! Congratulations, you have stumbled upon a dumpster disguised as a restaurant. Don't expect any service or food here, just a whole lot of garbage. Save yourself the trouble and don't waste your precious time. Oh, and the four waiters here are too busy chatting amongst themselves to even acknowledge your existence. Bon appetit!
P.S. pizza was fantastic.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 21, 2022
Came in to watch some Big East Monday night basketball and had a fabulous time! The entire staff was welcoming and friendly. Our waitress was patient with us when it took forever to decide on a beer and appetizer (everything just sounds too good), and the bartender was quick to change the TVs to FS1 when we asked.
My group shared a Giant German Soft Pretzel with beer cheese, so naturally that kicked off a great evening. I then moved on to the Figgy Piggy Burger, which totally impressed me. I also ordered the George Lopez Lil Mexi Lager, mainly because I thought the name was silly, and luckily it tasted great too. Overall, it was a great night and I will definitely be back for another game watch.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jun 23, 2023
3/5. Beer was good and bar snacks were ok. We got the sour draft and slighty stopped fruity haze. Solid but we came at 3pm on a Friday and bummer no happy hour. Curly fries with ranch, good ranch but hardly curly. More like straight fries and the asparagus fries were ok. The sauces were great but the breading was heavy. I did like that they did the whole asparagus.

Krista,
We appreciate you leaving a review. However, I am sorry to hear that we did not meet your standards. I will be communicating with our team to make sure this does not happen again. We hope to see you back again soon. - Oct 26, 2022Updated review
I'm way overdue for an updated review for BrewCo. Years ago I thought is okay but needed improvement, I've seen a lot of that now. They still have lots of interesting beers (at least three Russian River selections), it's an amazing place to watch a game, and I like the staff a lot.
The food has gotten better and more modern without sacrificing the essential primal elements of gastropubs. I now go in regularly, often to grab a Pliny, watch a game, and nosh. The burgers (Impossible included) are excellent, the halibut tacos are a must, and you must get a pretzel--just for the amazing mustard that they make in-house. If you're not into the sports, the outdoor seating has a fantastic view of Manhattan Beach Pier, which is only about 60 yards away.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jan 5, 2015Previous reviewIf there is a missing link between typical beach pubs and newer gastropubs, this is it. Because the food is still the typical inexpensive pub grub featured at so many (but fewer and fewer) places these days. You know: non-updated burgers, potato skins, nothing special but perfectly absorbent pizza, and fried this, that and the other thing (actually, we did have a pretty good salad). But the craft beer selection is excellent, and their drinks are "crafty" enough that metro-types and that fine lady you lucked into escorting can still get a decent cocktail.
While it could be argued that the menu needs some work (fewer items, more quality and creativity), the interior layout is very good for watching a game. The garage-style roll-up doors open to the street to let in all that juicy Manhattan Beach air (gratis!). And there are flat panels everywhere, so no matter where you sit, you can watch your favs teams and playoff games (Go Kings!). I would say the interior needs updating, but it appears that it HAS been updated--just not in a trendiest designer style. Not necessarily a bad thing when you stumble up from the beach wearing biker shorts or a wet swim suit and flip flops. - Blake K.Tyler, TX162246Jul 6, 2023
Visiting family, doing some shopping, grabbed a quick bite. Food was good and reasonably priced. Staff was very kinds and professional. Wonderful dining experience all together.
I had the Chinese chicken salad. It was very good. If I had to say anything I wish I had a bit more of the yummy sesame vinaigrette dressing. The grilled chicken was cooked to perfection.
Husband had the fish and chips and it was SOOOOO good.
Daughter had the carne asada tacos. She said they were great. She put the Cole slaw from her dads fish n chips on them.
We also had drinks. Whiskey sour was perfect. The cosmo was Devine.
For an appetizer we shared some sweet potato fries with garlic aioli.
Everything was wonHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

10/10 service
9/10 (gastropub) food
6/10 setting
It was great to catch up with my childhood best friend who happened to be in town. I drove down from LA & we came upon this place for the casual vibe & it didn't disappoint. Aside from a couple of random bros talking on a volume 25/10 at the table beside us, this place was great.
The service was truly outstanding- very attentive, helpful & timely. We ordered ALOT of food. The portions are really quite good here.
The Baja Tacos with rice & beans, 2 orders of Hot Wings (come with fries - we didn't know), an extra order of fries (for the table - that we didn't know we didn't need), a cheese pizza, a piece of garlic toast for a little one at our table & spinach dip with tortilla chips. All was great - everything has spice & fried, but didn't feel too heavy, which was great. The artichoke dip - that (oddly enough) was the greasiest/oiliest part. Not my fave, but fine for bar food.
Would return. Doing great, everyone!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1Business owner information
