I have to say, it's hard to turn down a very good smoked brisket sandwich, and luckily for me, Brett's makes one that I can't keep my hands off. I ordered the combo brisket sandwich with sweet potatoes and the BBQ sauce on the side for only $8.95.

I say only, because the serving size was huge! The smokey brisket was literally falling off the bun. I loved having the BBQ sauce on the side, so I could control how much to pour onto the brisket as I ate the sandwich. The brisket was very tasty and had a good smokey flavor. It was melee of meat, because there were crispy pieces and then some more tender pieces. However, some of the pieces were a little dry. Overall it was some very good brisket, but if they would pour a touch of au jus over the meat right after they put it on the sandwich, that would me smashing.

The bun was good, for it was moist and a little toasty around the edges. The BBQ sauce was mild, although I only tried their original sauce, but it tasted quite good with the brisket and the sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were excellent and they offer a heaping pile of them. The had a very good crispy exterior and soft flavorful center. Their seasoning was spot on, and like I said, these were great eating with the BBQ sauce too.

The meal also came with a large pickle spear which was good, and it also came along with some nice service too. I love my smoked meats..

I was craving BBQ after a long hike. A friend suggested Brett's. We arrived in the 4S shopping center and was welcomed into a hole in the wall with indoor and outdoor seating.

The menu was pretty extensive and reminded me of Phil's BBQ. I felt like ribs but didn't feel like getting a half rack of ribs with 2 sides for $15+. As I was looking for other options, the girl behind the counter recommended a kids meal. Kid's meal comes with 3-4 baby back ribs, a side, and animal crackers. PERFECT! No drink included so all this for less than $9.

While my lunch mates got their sandwiches fairly quickly, my ribs took a while. Be prepared to wait should you order ribs. The ribs are a dry rub with a side of BBQ sauce on the side. I like my ribs nice and wet, so if you like it this way, request more sauce. The ribs a little overdone for my liking and were kinda bony, so a bit disappointed that there wasn't much meat. In fact, I was still hungry after finishing my meal.

I ordered the side of fries, which were thin and crispy. Very delicious. I tried the house made ranch dressing and it was really tasty. Ask for the ranch!

Friendly service and a good alternative for food and BBQ if you're in the area.

Came here for lunch. Asked the cashier what they were known for. She replied, pulled pork sandwich. So that's what I ordered.

Sandwich came w/ a large helping of fries. Crispy and light. Good fries. Pork was tender and accompanying BBQ sauce was great. Overall the sandwich was good. Pork by it self didn't have too much flavor. But good for what it was.

Will have to go here again.

      Sorry, dry dry dry! Ewwwww
If I knew their smoked rib was going to taste and feel rubbery like this I would have not wasted my appetite on it, but good now I know. I didn't think Phil's was great either. But after trying this, wow phil's is really good. I challenge the owners of Brett's to try Fall brooks Rib Shack, that's what smoked rib should taste and feel. Melts in your mouth...Way better than Phil or any place I have tried in this area. Amazing!! I just wish they were closer. Please forgive me Rib Shack, today I have sinned! What a waste of money -

OK BBQ. I had the two piece beef ribs with two sides and a soda and it was just shy of $20. A little pricey. The beef ribs were decent and had a decent amount of meat on them but I expected more for the price I was paying. The sides were good and filling. The mac n cheese is good but a little oily. Sweet potato fries pretty good. Staff is friendly. I would probably eat here again and try some of the other menu items if I was in the area and wanted some bbq.

Beef Ribbs with fall off the bone tenderness with a chaser of sweet tang and moist meat that is so good.
M when you have a hankering for some good ol southern yummy bbq this is my first choice other than homemade. An order and two sides enough for two people so don't go blind with the total. It's worth it for two meals...

Simply the best beef ribbs around!! A 2 ribbs meal is more than enough for two adults!! Come hungry, leave happy
The sweet, tender meat is fall off the bone delish! Eat your heart out Cyndi...you would give this dish

I was super excited to find out that there's a bbq joint near my apartment. I love phils, but unfortunately it's always packed and really far from home. Luckily, Brett's was a pleasant surprise of great tasting bbq in a suburban California setting.

This place is fairly pricey, but you get a whole lot of food for your buck. I ordered the pulled pork platter, which was a heaping portion tender, juicy shredded pork topped with their delicious in-house bbq sauce. For sides I got the macaroni and cheese and the French fries. The Mac and cheese was just okay, super creamy but lacking a bit in flavor. The fries were amazing- Shoestring, crispy, and delicious. My boyfriend got the brisket platter, which was also tender, but a little on the drier side. He got the hush puppies and the coleslaw as his sides. The hush puppies were fresh and tasty, and the coleslaw was a bit too mustardy for my liking.

Overall, the food was really satisfying, and I look forward to coming back and trying different sides to go with the amazing pulled pork!

Overall 3.5. Up since 4:30am. Ugh. Might as well Yelp. I've only tried their food at catered events at my office building. Every year they do our tenant appreciation event and they provide BBQ pulled pork & chicken meat, bread, mac & cheese, baked beans, potato salad and salad. For folks who eat this kind of food regularly, they'll be in BBQ pork heaven.

I normally don't eat unhealthy food like this, but as a once per year way-off-the-wagon meal I throw out my typical vegan/vegetarian consumption habits out the window. This is why I won't ever be 100% strict with our healthy eating (we eat healthy about 98% of the time though); I'd never get to partake in events! lol

BBQ pulled pork: 4.5 stars. I normally never eat pork. But I liked this. Very soft, tender and flavorful. Not overly greasy, surprisingly.

BBQ pulled chicken: 2.5 stars. Not sure why, since it was in the same kind of heated serving bin, but it was tough. The pork was better.

Buns: 2 stars. Bread was served in bulk in a big plastic bag where you just grab w/ your hands. Yuck. Have a set of tongs. Also, I like my bread warm. Nothing special w/ their buns.

Mac & Cheese: 4.5 stars. Hubby HATES all things cheese, as well as the smell of it, so I get my cheese splurges outside our home. A little thick & clumped together, but it tasted so good, so I don't care! I'm pretty sure I'd be obese and have a heart attack if I ate this daily.

Baked beans: 5 stars. Every year, I look forward to their baked beans. Oh. Dear. God. Yummy sweet, smokey, bacon-ey flavor goodness. The star of the menu, but take your insulin shot with this!

Potato salad: 4.5 stars. One of the better tasting potato salads I've had. I hate mayonnaise, so it was nice that this actually tasted like potatoes and not overly creamy or mayonnaise-tasting.

Salad: 2 stars. Funny thing is, normally we love salads and actually eat them daily. But a place like this, not known for healthy foods, should stick with what they're good at. Their salad was weak (and not replenished when we were in the line). It was like a bunch of iceberg lettuce w/ random mixed toppings thrown on top. Not good.

Wish they had containers with the tops on them, as a lot of the tenants of the building fix a plate and bring up to their office.

They walked around the tables, collecting trash (hope they didn't touch bare food afterwards???). I didn't notice if the workers wore plastic gloves, but if not, they should when handling food.

Overall, food is 3.5 stars, but I'll round them up to 4 stars instead of a round down to 3 cuz I do feel it's better than A-OK (especially if you're a fan of this type of food. Then you may even rate them higher). But the fact that a healthy eater like me rated them 4 stars says a lot. It's fun to go off the wagon with them every year.

Marketing tip for the business: Bring coupons to hand out to tenants to bring tenants into your restaurant and raffle off a free lunch for 2 or something.

Again, normally not the kind of food I eat, so I don't see myself going to their restaurant. But for an annual event, it's yummy. Forget about doing any work afterwards though. I am in a food coma and just need a nap & belly rub!

I always pass by this place and finally decided to give it a try.

It's funny because when we walked in and was checking out the menu, an older gentlemen claimed that it was better than Phil's BBQ.

      Well here it goes.....

      FOOD:

Half Rack Baby Back Ribs $15
(Two Sides: Sweet Potato Fries & Corn Pudding)

The ribs had some meat on it but it was too dry for my taste. I prefer meat that falls right off the bone. The BBQ sauce was average as well, nothing special.
The sweet potato fries on the other hand were delicious! Perfectly fried and not too sweet. The corn pudding was something i've never tried before. It is basically corn mixed with muffin breading which made it taste like a type of stuffing. It was good as well.

      BBQ Baked Potato $8.50

Their potato is pretty big, not the biggest i've seen but enough to be eaten as a meal or shared between two people as a side item. The pulled pork was average. Not really tender enough for me as well. It comes with butter, sour cream, bbq sauce, onion and cheese.

      Mac & Cheese

My friends liked it, but i did not. It had a very light flavor and had the texture of powdered cheese. It was not good.

Overall, the sides were a lot more delicious than the main course. But i don't think I will be returning.
