I would have given this place a 3 but man those cheese curds are so durn good! Fast service and the workers were friendly.....would definitely come back here again.
Think the only thing I would change would be to add more dressing with the salad I ordered. I'm more a sauce man so the dish felt a tad dry towards the end.
Anyhoo fun little place!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Molly M.Circle Pines, MN175181415777Jul 11, 2023
It looked like a long line when we stopped on our group bicycle ride, but the service was efficient and we had our food quickly. Eating outdoors by the lake-what could be better in Minnesota during the summer? My Shrimp Salad Sandwich Roll was excellent-nicely seasoned with dill!

Location, location, location. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito and a chai latte.
The burrito was served with breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, sofrito beans, tomato, shredded cheddar. I was hoping for this mixed combo in my mouth to be delightful but it didn't have that much flavor and I had to wait till I was almost done to taste the potatoes which were not evenly distributed throughout the burrito.
Thank God for ketchup because it helped turn the lack of flavor around. I used a lot of packets to help the flavor. I really wanted to this to be a better experience but unfortunately it was just ok. However, I was happy to have it conveniently located in the park.Helpful 9Thanks 2Love this 9Oh no 1 - Oct 9, 2021
My wife and I were out for our "New Saturday Restaurant Lunch" date and we decided to take a walk around Lake Harriet and get a pulled pork sandwich at Bread and Pickle.
It was a perfect day and it is about a mile walk from our free parking spot and there are plenty of Pokemon Go stops along the way, so I was busy for the 18 minute walk.
There is usually a huge line here, so we have passed it up on our hundreds of walks here, but today about 11, the line wasn't too bad on a Saturday.
I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was ready in about 5 minutes. I unwrapped the dead pig and it was full of pork and a nice slaw on top. It was a solid sandwich, nothing amazing, but the view and the slaw and lots of pork made it a winner.
Nice lady at the counter took our order and it was very nice overall. Plus they have local craft beers available.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 65188388Jun 10, 2021
The food is very average here, but it's such a fun atmosphere by the band shell and the lake. Good selection of local beers and they have a few options of wine and cider. French fries and popcorn are good but it's hard to mess those up!
An average summertime haunt, but I'm glad it exists. Nice to have an option when hanging out near Harriet!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Stephanie! Thanks for stopping by a few months ago. Hope to see you again this season!

we came from afar only to find horrible service, horrible food, and horrible attitude. I ordered a salmon sandwich for breakfast and it was completely dry, the name (bred & pickles) was misleading, they served me no pickles, when I complained I was met with smirks and sarcasm.

Food isn't fresh unless it's burning your fingers It's my honest belief that the fries at Bread and Pickle are the best in the state. They're salty, cut for the optimal crispy/soft ratio, and most importantly: so piping hot it's like they were dumped straight from the fryer basket into your hands.
Fry perfection!
There's only one downside to falling in love with these fries: Bread and Pickle is only open in the spring and summer! Once they close for the season you'll be counting down the days until they reopen just like me...Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Sep 12, 2020
Great spot on the water! We were on a 16-mile bike ride and popped in for some lunch. My husband got the egg salad sandwich on sourdough - he thought the egg salad was good, but the bread was NOT sourdough. He said it tasted more like white bread.
THOSE CHEESE CURDS. This was my first time in Minnesota and therefore my first time having cheese curds so I have nothing to compare these too, but wow, they were amazing. The perfect blend of buttery and fluffy with just a little crunch. Our friends who have lived in Minnesota said these were the best they have had. All I ordered for myself were the cheese curds, so I did not share many :)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 26, 2021Updated review
So good we came came back for more! This time we each indulged in a scoop of ice cream at the end of our walk. The ice cream was served promptly and the workers there are so appreciative and friendly! Love this neighborhood spot and plan to be frequent visitors!

Bread & Pickle just opened again for the 2021 season and we couldn't wait to go. We decided to finish our long bike ride here. Luckily, there were plenty of spots for us to lock up. Car parking seemed a bit trickier, but I recommend parking on one or the side streets (for free) and doing the little trek over to the stand.
We both ordered a couple beers and shared cheese curds, with the special sauce, aka thousand island dressing. The beers will filled high and promptly served cold. We only had to wait about five minutes for the cheese curds to be ready. They were perfectly lightly battered and fresh. They were so good I couldn't even snap a picture before my partner devoured them!
While I wouldn't necessarily come here for a full dinner, I think Bread & Pickle is the perfect lunch or snack spot for your next walk around the lake. - Jaclyn F.Minneapolis, MN51421Sep 17, 2022
When walking around Lake Harriet it's a great place to grab a quick bite! The cheese curds and burger are wonderful and exactly what you'd expect from a quick food stand that serves quality food.
