This location can be a little hard to find if you're looking for a sign (but worth it). Instead, look for a the Box Bros trucks in the large parking lot on the corner of Beach and Ivy. Then enter thru the side door toward the inner corner of the building, just off a loading dock. Inside you'll find a massive warehouse where the team is expertly packaging and crating furniture and art work to be delivered around the world. They sell a number of packing supplies on site (regular packing boxes and specialty TV and mirror/art boxes, kits for dishes, lamps, etc).
If you have a special item that needs professional packing, ask for Adam. He's delightful and super helpful as well as honest and willing to work with you on price. He's not trying to upsell you on anything you don't need but knows his stuff--like being able to advise on the necessary packing required to make an insurance claim in the event that something gets damaged in a move.
I am in the midst of a cross-country move and their services probably saved me about $1000 vs. having the movers package our items. I'd definitely use their services again in the future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Byron S.Torrance, CA1161Aug 23, 2014
Recently had move from Redondo to Torrance. Was easy to book and communicate all details of move online. Estimate was spot on and Chris was very quick and thorough with emails.
Can't say enough good things about our movers. Jeff, D'Angelo, and Patrick where fast, friendly and careful. Very accommodating (had pickup at storage unit along the way).
All and all was a great short move from a very professionally run business. Would gladly recommend them to friends and family in the South Bay.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jessica S.Delray Beach, FL021May 12, 2015
I had this Box Brothers location handle my recent cross-country (from CA to FL) small move and they did a great job. No furniture, just household goods and personal items. Good communication throughout. The two employees who came to pack up my things arrived on time and were friendly, courteous, and able to answer the few questions I had. My items were brought to their warehouse, re-packed onto a pallet, and then trucked to my new home via a third party freight shipping company.
My stuff made the cross country journey within the early end of the estimated time frame (only seven days from pick-up in CA to delivery in FL) and the pallet was delivered to my driveway. Upon opening all of the boxes, there were a few items (framed artwork) that I felt could've been packed more thoroughly, but nothing is broken or damaged so it's all good. All glassware was very well packed. Box Brothers managed my small move for a reasonable price and I would use them again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shaun J.Encino, CA14351Oct 31, 2013
I hired this company to move me last minute. They may be great at shipping, but my moving experience with them was TERRIBLE. I am (sadly) a veteran mover, and have never had a move take this long. EVER.
Here is the just of it:
1. When they booked the move they asked me no questions. Not one. Showed up on time for the move and the mover immediately starts complaining about the stairs. Yeah, that's why I hired a mover!
2. They sent me two movers, one was great, the other was older and complained the entire time about everything from being too old to do this, to my boxes being heavy, to the stairs.
3. They took forever, when I would go outside to see what was going on, I would catch the older guy chain smoking. I mean seriously. Chain smoking and complaining.
4. 4 hours in they still had not managed to get my furniture out of the house. Mind you I only have a 2 bedroom townhouse, one room was empty and packed everything downstairs. Only thing in my bedroom was a heavy dresser and my bed frame.
5. I finally say something, like why is this taking so long. At this point the older guy calls in for back up.
When I get to the storage, the company did send a few extra guys to help finish the move up. This was the only positive thing from the move. They did so "at no cost, though I suspect I already paid for the extra labor in the 5 hours it took two guys to move a 1 bedroom.
Then to add insult to injury:
1. They broke my wine cabinet. We're not talking about some cheap compressed wood from Ikea. I am talking about a really nice cabinet; they flipped upside down and broke the tile.
2. Stole my shrink wrap. But I can see how they might have thought it was theirs.
3. Oh, the final kicker, it took 6 hours to complete the move, but they charge me for 7 hours, when I ask why, the chain smoker said, "Oh we start charging you when we leave the warehouse". I guess he forgot the "warehouse" was less than a mile away from me. Must have been a lot of traffic. Hmmmmmmmmm
If you are going to use this company, tell them everything, because they won't ask. I hear they are supposed to come do a walk through, request this. And ask them to send you people young enough to do the job.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marissa L.Pico-Robertson, Los Angeles, CA8921435Jan 25, 2016
Booking Box Brothers Inglewood for my small move was the most expensive mistake I have made in my life so far (knock on wood.) I was naïve and careless and I hope my Yelp review can save others from the same stress!
Things Box Brothers failed to do:
- Provide a visual inspection and written estimate. According to the CPUC phone/internet estimates are prohibited.
- Provide a Moving Services Agreement or contract containing a Not to Exceed price.
- Provide "Important Notice About Your Move" and "Important Information For Persons Moving Household Goods (within California") booklet. (The law actually entitles you to a $100 refund if your moving company doesn't give these to you.)
Things Box Brothers did do:
- Book an initial date and then cancel it.
- Increase the initial estimate from $85 to $125 a couple of weeks later from two moving guys to three (this was fair but wasn't sorted out in the initial verbal estimate)
- Move and reassemble our furniture without damaging 99% of it(yay)
- Helpfully fix an old, beat up bookshelf that fell apart coming off the truck.
- Charge us $100 for the 45 min it took for them to drive 9 miles from their warehouse in Inglewood to West LA, even though CPUC laws state that moving companies cannot charge you for this driving time.
- When we protested this driving time, they gave inconsistent times as to to when the truck left the warehouse stating it took them 1 hour and 15 minutes to drive 9 miles.
- Operate in the State of California as a moving company WITHOUT A LICENSE to be a moving company. (Having been denied a license in 1997 and never bothering to reapply?!)
- Steal my engagement ring on the way out.
- Accuse me of lying about them stealing my ring
- Ignore my calls about the stolen ring
- State they are going to give me a refund and then stop following up for two weeks straight.
Things you should do so you aren't screwed over like me:
- Book a company that is actually licensed to operate in California by checking on the CPUC website.
- Read the CPUC website on moving scams before booking
- Get things in writing
- Don't leave valuable crap out for movers to steal
Tl;dr Box Brothers Inglewood broke several California moving company laws AND one of their movers stole my engagement ring.
On the flip side, they did move my friend with no problems. I guess it depends on if the lack of a license to operate legally is a deal breaker for you...Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Teresa K.Los Angeles, CA524Aug 19, 2012First to Review
I often talk about "bedside manner" in my reviews - because it is so important! Sure it's more important for your doctor to be skilled than friendly, but when she or he has both skill and bedside manner - you could say that that practitioner is all around gifted. I would make a similar analogy with the business of shipping. Sure you want your stuff to arrive in the same condition you shipped it in, but when the person coordinating your shipment attends to you well throughout the whole process - it is more than icing on the cake!
I had a completely positive experience working with this branch. Steve always answered every stupid little question I had, speedily and with patience, giving me the peace of mind I so needed for an international sofa shipment (part of an international relocation). Then, my sofa got to its destination in PERFECT shape! Did I mention that it's a white sofa?! Best of all, this branch was able to give me a really good deal that saved me thousands and thousands of dollars. (Including the sofa with my main shipment would've left me deep in debt, or sofa-less in my new city.) I don't have a single negative thing to say about these guys. Not-a-thing. This is what you call exemplary.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lindsey M.Los Angeles, CA01Jun 25, 2016
I used Box Brothers for my cross country move from NC to CA. Box Brothers proved to be reliable, reasonably priced and efficient in handling my move. Not only were my household goods professionally handled without incident, but also delivered in a timely fashion. The only obstacle i encountered during my move was that Box Brothers was unable to deliver on the Saturday I was scheduled to move into my apartment. However, Box Brothers did provide me access to my things at their warehouse and had staff available to assist in transport of my items to a UHaul. I would highly recommend Box Brothers to anyone who needs help with a small move.

I use box brothers to ship furniture to clients all over the united states. Communication is fast and personable. These folks take pride in doing a good job and it really shows. My clients are consistently happy as my products arrive in perfect condition. If I cannot personally deliver an item, I turn to Box Bros to get the job done right.

I could NOT POSSIBLY be happier! The service I received from Box Brothers was absolutely wonderful. Unlike previous experiences with other companies (some of the much larger and older) I was NOT ripped off, They didn't break anything. They didn't try to sell me a bunch of boxes and tape and wrappings I didn't need. They were friendly. In fact, they were a JOY to work with. WHAT?! I work in the service industry and know excellent work when I see it! Thank you Box Brothers. I could go on and on but...that might be weird! Looking forward to working with you again!
