I ordered an everything bagel with egg, cheese, and avocado. It was served piping hot, the bagel is pretty decent. I just don't like the eggs (I think they're frozen), kind of just ruined it for me. Next time, maybe I'll just get cream cheese since the bagel is pretty good. I also ordered an orange cranberry scone; great consistency and texture but didn't have much flavor. I sat outside which is a very nice perk. The have 2 tables outside and more seating inside.
Would give this place another shot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 11, 2019Previous reviewI ordered an everything bagel with egg, cheese, and avocado. I've been here about 6x and had no issues. My favorite coffee in the area.
Pros:
* Good service
* Excellent mochas, overall good coffee
* Good food
Cons:
* On the small side, somewhat limited seatingHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chad K.Birmingham, AL1721517Oct 27, 2019
Small latte double shot of espresso.
Living in DC wonderful coffee everywhere but this might be the best.
If you're looking for a smooth cinnamon nutmeg creamy cappuccino it taste like somewhere in southern Italy then this is your place.
Especially if you get it and have it at the coffee shop in a ceramic mug.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 21, 2018
UM - HOW DID WE ONLY JUST FIND OUT NOW ABOUT THIS COFFEE SHOP??
We had such a great experience here despite an order mixup! I had such a hard time figuring out what I wanted to order - we ended up getting a honey cinnamon latte and the caramel indulgence latte. The honey cinnamon latte wasn't too sweet and it had just the right hint of cinnamon to it. My SO's caramel indulgence latte was amazing - albeit a bit too sugary (for my taste) from all the caramel!
They have a ton of cold and hot sandwich/wrap options, as well as numerous breakfast pastries/oatmeal that you can order as well. I loved that in spirit of St. Patrick's Day, they offered what looked like a pound cake/loaf slice with a bright green shamrock nestled in it! I'll definitely come here more often now that I know exactly where it is. :)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 19, 2017
I'm sitting here right now drinking my iced jasmine green tea. The service is super friendly. The environment is super relaxed and chill. It's the perfect place to take a breather. Plus, I found an hour parking right in front of the coffee shop. You may ask, who drives into d.c? Well, I always do and parking wasn't too bad at this joint.

Bourbon Coffee locations around a DMV are a good place to get some coffee and small bites. The baristas here generally make perfect drinks and the food items are good too! We like the brownies, muffins, and marble loaf. The Blueberry muffins just melt in your mouth :)
Seating is cozy and is generally all taken but this place is worth the stop!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Samantha M.Alexandria, VA151112Jul 19, 2017
Just stopped you Bourbon Coffee for the first time and I'm not sure why there are negative reviews. Perhaps other Yelpers have had different experiences but this was my experience today:
Walked in and was greeted by a woman at the register. It was around 10am on a Tuesday and almost every seat was taken (small shop is the only reason I'd take a star away). I ordered an iced coffee and bacon cheddar scone and it was only $5 for both! Love the prices, service was friendly and prompt. The coffee was delicious. Nothing watered down, no weird burned taste and it had a nice nutty flavor on the back. My scone was surprisingly really good. It had a nice peppery taste with large pieces of bacon in it. It was soft on the inside but a firm, typical scone-like texture on the outside. Really enjoyed both of the items I ordered, but I wish I could have sat and enjoyed them inside the shop.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Carl O.Northwest Washington, Washington, DC03Oct 1, 2019Updated review
Second time here and both times I've been disappointed. Last week I ordered a house coffee that was burnt and so hot I couldn't drink it so I ordered another with the same outcome. sit
Today was 15 minutes for a lemonade ice tea and I was the only one in line. There was one lady working behind the counter and she was killing it trying to keep up! I saw one other employee and this was on a Saturday at 1:00.
To bad, it's the only game on the block and with all the traffic they could be doing great business. I saw and heard people leaving looking for the closest Starbucks.
Sad.
Update: stopped in the fallowing Saturday; new crew with great improvement, my coffee was great and I had time to sit and enjoy it with a croissant! Thank youHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 21, 2019Previous reviewSecond time here and both times I've been disappointed. Bourbon is probably one of my favorite coffee shops I've been to anywhere in Virginia/DMV area. That may not be saying much though because I don't think I've been to that many..
They have a lot of cool specialty drinks and seasonal ones as well. Some of my recommendations are:
- Macadamia nut mocha (I prefer to just get the macadamia nut latte now though which is the same thing without the chocolate)
- Honey cinnamon latte
- Strawberry shortcake latte (with regular milk, this one's seasonal)
- Summer Slammer Smoothie
Please stay away from the Avomatchia smoothie!! I love avocado smoothies but that one brought me sadness..
Consistency is sort of an issue here in terms of drink quality but they also always seem to have new hires.
Can't say much about the food here as I've never tried anything.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
