No frills Japanese place. I was visiting the area and it was close by and I had a sushi craving. It's small, just a few tables but also a homey feel. They have the standard Japanese food - sushi, teriyaki and some ramen type bowls. I had the teriyaki chicken and some sushi rolls. It hit the spot. Also, might be weird to say but the rice (regular white rice) was very good. Fluffy, not too dry and not too soggy.

Came here late (an hour before closing after a gym session) and we ordered the ramen. It came with a side salad (with peanut sauce) - the side salad and dressing was excellent. The ramen itself was serviceable - not bad but no where near as good as other options in the DMV area. The broth leaned too much on salt and oil for flavor - it lacked other seasoning, resulting in the dish being very salty without much additional flavor. The meat was slightly dry and the noodles on the softer, slightly overcooked side.
It's nice that it's open later than many other restaurants in the area so it's decent for what is available at 9:30pm - but at a normal lunch and dinner time, I would not seek out this place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 4, 2023
We stopped here after finding out that Sushi Garden didn't have seating. It was also fairly close to our hotel so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the 3 roll combo, chicken Yakisoba, and sushi and sashimi platter for the four of us. I appreciate that the food came with 3 miso soups and 3 salads with peanut dressing, but it was awkward for someone in the group to be missing a soup or salad dish. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but we had to ask twice to get our waters filled. Overall, fish quality was good 4/5, I would recommend.
They accept cash, MC and VISA only.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 21, 2023
This place isn't a whole lot to look at from the outside and it's crammed in with a bunch of other restaurants along 23rd. The staff greeted us promptly and the service was very good and very attentive. The sushi was amazingly fresh and really quite delicious. We had mostly nigiri and a spicy crab roll. The pieces of fish on the nigiri were huge and definitely good value for the price. I will be back to try more things. They also seemed to have a very nice selection of rolls that I will need to try next time I go in! I meant to take photos, but well, it looked so good it was eaten before I remembered to take the pictures.

I was here after work and ordered chirashi, and I highly regret not going to the other sushi place near the Crystal City metro for the food. When I opened my chirashi, 75% of it is just rice, and the remaining 25% is the fish. I'm not even going to comment about the rice, but I do not understand why I'm paying nearly 40 dollars for simply 2 pieces of fish per species, and I think there's a total of 12 pieces of fish plus a lot of rice for that amount of money. This is just not worth the price, and plus the fish taste really bland. I had better chirashi in Sushi Garden near the metro. I don't even know why I decided to venture out to this restaurant hoping that it'd be better than the other competitor near the metro station.
Food is 3.2/10. I'll round it up to 2 stars out of 5 due to giving me a free miso soup, but their competitor (Sushi Garden) also gives free miso soup, so meh.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 19, 2023
We had the early bird specials (although outside of the early bird hours). We got the age tofu and pork chops alongside the sashimi deluxe. Age tofu was good but the pork was on the dry side. Sashimi was good. Overall ok but not amazing. But definitely worth checking out if you're visiting the area or in need for an easy option for dinner like we were in the mood for.

One of my fave sushi spots in the area. We didn't plan on eating here. We were just exploring the area and I was craving sushi. It is located in a cute, small location on 23rd St.
We ordered a bento box with beef and tempura, and 6 rolls of salmon roll, eel roll, and tuna w/ avocado. What really stood out for me is the beef from the Bento Box. Overall, my sushi craving hit the spot, so I'll deff come here again for my sushi cravings.
Only thing I did not like was the water. :( but other than that, I would recommend!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shannon T.Arlington, VA7658882Oct 3, 2022
This restaurant is located in a high-yield street of restaurants in Crystal City. I had the vegetarian udon and the broth was savory and perfectly concentrated. The udon noodles were tender and overall the food had a very authentic Japanese taste! The only thing was that they were short-staffed on a busy night and some tables needed to be cleaned up. I will be coming back

Not the best, but was pretty good for prices. Service was cool. I have no complaints. I ate outside on the patio and it was a warm day!
