I ordered delivery for lunch from Bollywood Masala the other day after seeing a gorgeous spread on one of my cousin's social media stories. I had no idea Bollywood Masala was so close to my apartment, so I was happy and excited to see a 15-20 minute ETA on delivery.
Pricing was alright, about $17 per entree and I ordered two, one for me and one for my Mom. She ordered the Goat Briyani and I ordered the Saag Chicken Tikka Masala. The Masala came with Daal (lentil soup) so I ordered extra Basmati rice for my Mom to try both of mine.
When we received our order, David the UberEats delivery guy was super nice and delivered the perfect handoff. When I opened the bags, I found that the Daal was placed inside the container with the Masala and the Basamati rice. It had spilled all over the Masala and into the bag that was carrying it. It was quite liquidy (watery) so it seeped through the paper bag holding the container of extra Basmati rice. I don't know why they didn't think to put the Daal in that container instead of in the open one where it mixed with all the other food. Created a less than appetizing presentation, unfortunately. But my Mom and I powered through. The Goat Briyani was the highlight of our lunch. It was so flavorful and delicious!
I don't think I'll order for delivery or take out from Bollywood Masala again. The food was great, but the packaging was anything but. I'll wait for the restaurants to reopen following the lift of the emergency order regarding the pandemic and check out Bollywood Masala in person for a better presentation/experience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Manjari H.Kissimmee, FL4221Jan 24, 2021
Went here for the first time last night. The place is small but neat. The food is good, not the very best of Indian food I've eaten in my 36 years, but good enough to compare to the real deal.
The service is friendly and welcoming. The meal platter is generously portioned and can easily feed two people with medium appetite.
The butter chicken gravy was cooked to perfection, though the chicken tikka pieces were a tad dry. The lamb rogan Josh, again, had the perfect gravy and the lamb pieces were not hard/chewy, although the meat lacked juiciness. Something a double marination can easily fix (for both the chicken and lamb). The pulao rice was cooked perfectly. The naans were decent and we were informed by the person at the counter that they are making them fresh in-house instead of getting the frozen stuff they used to earlier. They could do better by reducing the amount of vinegar in the salad dressing though.
Overall, good service, good portions and the food was tasty enough for this person of Indian origin to promptly decide to return to Bollywood Masala to try out the rest of their menu. It's my new little place of comfort away from home.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 18, 2017
Craving some saucy and yummy indian food on a Friday night, I went ahead and ordered from Bollywood Masala for uber delivery. The food was prepared quickly and I was able to try what everyone was raving about on Yelp.
To my dissappointment it wasnt what I expected. The rice was simple basmati which was good but the chicken curry wasnt very interesting to me. The falvor of the chicken was bland and unimpressive. The daal was ok too, nothing special.
The garlic naan was the worst part of it all. It looked like store bought naan bread that came in packs and they buttered it and put large chunks of garlic on it. Very sad as that was what I was looking forward to the most and ordered 3 servings of it for the family to try anticipating that it would blow my mind.
Uneventful and disappointing meal. :(Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 10, 2016
Bollywood Masala is our "every other" Thursday lunch spot. A small hidden gem in South Miami providing good Indian cuisine at very reasonable prices. Portions are great for those with an appetite, okay to share between 2 people, or even better to have left-overs for dinner.
I usually stick to the chicken tikka platter or chicken masala. Food is nicely spiced and seasoned, so be prepared to enjoy a mixture of flavors that'll make your palate go nuts.
I usually order my protein with rice which I cooked with cloves, clover leaves, and cardamom. Really flavorful and tasty. Add some gravy from the masala sauce for some wet factor and you can thank me sometime. For second side I also stick to Daal, a stew (soup) made with yellow lentils, seasoned with beautifully vibrant spices until lovely and thick.
Thanks Bollywood for providing great lunch food to the BHSF team!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Doug B.Miami, FL1378200Mar 28, 2019
Bollywood is the place to go for bomb Indian food that is both fast and cheap. 4/5.
We came here during lunch. It was not busy, however, I have been coming to Bollywood for quite sometime and have always been satisfied but just never reviewed it. Bollywood is a small spot near sunset that has a wide variety of things in its menu--all of which are tasty.
I had the chicken curry and my guests had the chicken tikka and the lamb tikka. Lamb is cooked to order and takes about 20 mins. Chicken products are available immediately. Garlic naan was pretty good too. Overall a solid place. The only drawback to Bollywood would be it's small location with little seating and no bathroom.
This place gets 4/5 because:
1: all the food is awesome
2: the service is fast unless you order a few menu items that they cook to order
3: the staff is nice and suggested alternatives
4: good price.
0: missed a star here because the place is kinda small and lacks a lot of seating.

I was in the neighborhood, wanting some Indian but didn't want a buffet, and this one sounds like a good alternative to Taste Buds.
I ordered the chole wrap, which wasn't bad, except that the paratha they used was rather small, and couldn't wrap around the stuffing on the side, not to mention the ends, so food was spilling out all over the place.
My friend ordered the lamb tikka platter. I have to say, the rice was delicious. Cooked with cloves and other herbs it was much better than many other Indian restaurants I've tried. The dal was thick and flavorful as well. The spices on the lamb was good too, BUT... the lamb was bad. The moment the dish came, we could tell the lamb was not fresh, it looked gray, and the texture was way mushy - not tender, *mushy*. Honestly they should throw it out instead of trying to mask it with lots of sauces. To me, it means that either the chef doesn't care to use fresh, quality ingredient, or that he can't tell when food has gone bad. Either way, it's a bad omen.
Add to that I found the price rather high. The entrees are over $10: butter chicken is $13, eggplant masala is $10. They also have a lamb vindaloo for $15. Honestly, for that price, I can name a few Indian places offering better, more food with full service. To be paying that much to eat stale meat from Styrofoam at a counter... no, never again.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Feb 6, 2018
I try to cool down before giving out 1 star reviews, but its been a couple of days and I still cant believe this went down on Saturday.
I was looking for an Indian place that was open to sock up the hangover left from the partying the night before. My regular spot was closed until later that night so I decided to try this one.
We walked in and it was empty but it smelled good so we were excited to try it.I ordered a chicken korma and a samosa. My friend ordered chicken masala without really reading the description. It came with a tiny tiny small side of soup which was great since it was rainy day in Miami. We also ordered Nan (not fresh).
The problems started when the food came out, my plate which had cost over $15 was less than half the portion I would get at any other place (I usually pay around $18 for korma but always have left overs). My friends food came covered in onion (he hates onions). He realized he had not read the description and had made the mistake of ordering it. He stared speaking with the cashier about what option for something else could he have and was interrupted by who we assume is the owner SCREAMING at him that every plate in the menu had onions and that he was the one at fault for ordering a plate with onions. My friend was shocked and hurt, he had already admitted not to reading the description as he usually orders the same in other restaurants and never comes with onions.
I googled the recipe for chicken masala, and it did not have onions in them FYI.
Needless to say, we left the restaurant, my friend having spent over $20 for lunch and having eaten only nan and the small soup. Will never be coming back and I would not recommend this place.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0
