I don't visit many barbershops as my husband usually takes my son with him when he goes, that being said I'm sure we'll return to this shop many times in the future. After reading reviews I was confident this would be a great place to take my eight year old son and I was not disappointed.
We waited about an hour for his haircut as we arrived during their busy time (as pre-confirmed by Google's time estimates), but there were several people in front of us and the barbers made sure to take their time and pay attention to detail with each and every customer. I'm ok with waiting when I know it means quality and that's what you get here! The barbers as well as the other customers waiting to get their haircuts were all friendly and chatty and included my son and I in the conversation. A bonus was that they also didn't seem to mind a sometimes fussy nine month old one bit!
The gentleman cutting my son's hair was chatty and patient with him and did a great job!
This place just has an overall great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anthony S.Lemoore, CA02Sep 16, 2023
So awesome, great haircut and it's actually fun to just hang out and talk to these guys while you wait. Sometimes I'm actually happy when the wait is long

These guys are great. I've had just one haircut there and it was fantastic. Only issue is availability. The guys are very popular.

My son got his first haircut from a kids only salon up in Fresno when he was a baby but after moving back to Visalia I wanted to find someone local to cut his hair. One of my main concerns was finding a barber that would be patient with a fidgety or emotional toddler.. Aaron has been amazing with my son and he is so patient as he works to cut his hair. Their shop is filled with lots of stickers and knickknacks which helps keep my son distracted- but most of all it's their attitudes and energy that helps him feel at ease while he's getting his hair cut. So for anyone looking for a great barber for their little ones- look no further because Aaron and Evan are your guys!

Amazing place. Kinda plucked out of a different time. Just go in, relax, and enjoy the banter until it's your turn.

I haven't found a barber in years. A while back I decided I needed to start paying someone to cut my hair instead of doing it myself. Searched yelp, bolings was the obvious choice. Showed up within advertised hours of operation and found locked doors. Got my cut elsewhere. A few months later I decide to try again. I called to make an appointment. They don't. Only walk ins. Today showed up 90 minutes before closing time and they are closed. They might be great with hair, but they are 0 out of 3 attempts for this working guy to get a cut.

This little spot is busy for a reason, but it's well worth the wait! They are great with kids and always make them feel special. The hair creations are awesome; very hipster. They're also great with all kinds of hair types, for example my son is Asian and I have a hard time finding anyone who can cut it properly without making it stick straight up in the back.
This is thee place to go! Did I mention they're very affordable? ;)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Zachary D.Modesto, CA38653Aug 10, 2017
I love these guys and their shop. It's a fine little establishment that I always visit when I'm back home in the 559. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who really cares about their hair. I often go months without a haircut just so I can have them cut it when I'm home.
That said, coming here is always hit or miss. I really wish Evan and Aaron would maintain a proper social media presence with updates about when they randomly close the shop. There have been a number of times when I clear up my busy schedule and make the 30 minute drive (one way) to Visalia just to get my hair cut only to walk up to their door and find a handwritten note saying they're closed and to come back tomorrow. Lots of wasted time and lots of wasted gas.
But here's the thing: they're worth the frustration for me. That's how good they are. I guess I could always call ahead to make sure they're open, but should the customer always have to call ahead to make sure a business is open during normal working hours? It's a bit inconsistent in my opinion, but I love these dudes and will continue to support them. I know they're busy and maintaining a proper Facebook presence would just be another hassle to deal with, but it would save me (and presumably many other people) a heck of a lot of trouble.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jordan F.Visalia, CA1135Mar 16, 2017
Great Experience....I've heard good things so I walked in to get my son's hair cut.
Environment-
After a few minutes sitting there feeling the vibe out I was really enjoying the "barbershop atmosphere". Everyone talking to each other and the barber's are extremely friendly. My 4 year old enjoyed looking at all the vintage memorabilia.
Price-
The guy in front of me got a shave, looked well worth the price for just over 20 bucks including hair cut. My son got a cut which I was surprised that they are cheaper for kids at $8. I wasn't planning on getting a cut but I really enjoyed this shop and he did such a great job on my son that I went ahead and got one. Adults run $12.
Technique- a lot of barber's in the valley at least in my experience are use to giving fades and combovers but they use clippers-over-comb. I was happy to see that here they use clippers at the bottom of the cut and with the longer hair on top they go with shears-over-finger to blend it in giving a much more natural style with no unintended hard lines.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
