Cute little park on the way to the British Museum. There is a children's area and benches around the square so you can sit and relax. It's very quiet here even on a busy day so that was a nice break from all the bustle in London.

Lovely beautiful open space to take a break after a hectic day at the British museum or walking around Bloomsbury admiring the gorgeous old buildings.
There are no kids playgrounds or activities at this park, it's just a nice wide huge open space to stretch your legs and take a few deep breaths. In the afternoons. It's difficult to find a seat, given the number of people who head here to eat their lunch. But evenings are much easier to find a seat. Grab a coffee from Cordon Bleu Cafe or the London Review cafe and settle in with a book.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ruth V.Madrid, Spain146116408Apr 9, 2014
Pretty urban gardens in the middle of Bloomsbury, surrounded by handsome 18th/19th century buildings.
They are a nice spot to relax after an exhausting visit to the British Museum or to sit and enjoy the weather (if nice!) after work!
It has a small central square, lots of benches to seat, a play area for children and a flower garden.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hana V.Toronto, Canada113213201Jun 19, 2013
A great place for a picnic during your lunch break or after touring the nearby British Museum. Ringed by tall trees and bordered by the facades of an older London, this green space has a small flower garden, a small play area for children and plenty of grass and benches for sunning (on that rare sunny day).

Bloomsbury Square Gardens is a fantastic green space in London. It is in a very popular and wuite busy during the week. The park itself a car park underneath, which is quite expensive to park your car as it can cost £30 for 24 hours parking. Within minutes are all main restaurants and coffee shops. Holborn and Russell Sq tube stations are also close by.

Huge square in bloomsbury, recently remodelled, that has great areas for picnicking, very close to the centre. Good for a break from the british museum if you can't be bothered to walk back to russell square.

Since we were in the area and needed to grab some lunch,we popped into this deli, which had a little bit of seating in the front. We ordered two paninis - a chicken escalope and cheese, and a tuna and cheese - they were basically baguettes that were pressed in a panini machine. The crispy toasted exterior encased a tasty filling - great for a quick lunch and so much better than prepackaged sandwiches. I'd recommend this place if you're close by and need something warm and fast.

Just round the corner from Tottenham Court Road tube, this is an average pub with a good atmosphere. It is very popular and can get quite busy. The food is delicious - it's a little pricy (£7.50 for a baguette and chips) but it well made and tasty. Good for stopping in a lunchtimes for a quick meal.

Good outdoor area. Not the biggest green space but good for picnics and lunchtime walks. Gets busy in the summer as near commuter central. About a 3 minute walk from Russell Square. Close to cafe and shops. Also has an underground carpark.
